MMA January - Johny Hendricks Beard Appreciation Society

Rumor has it Silva "injured" his back and will be out for awhile.

Quack quack quack

Then is the "Big news" going to be involving the winner or Rumble/Belfort fighting for an interim belt. Or will they just make Rumble/Belfort an interim title match? The second is pretty unlikely, but if Anderson is out it isn't the craziest thing, though I do think the winners of Munoz/Sonnen and Rumble/Belfort will probably fight each other for a belt if Anderson is out most of the year.

I would say if anything the winner of Sonnen-Munoz should be the Interim Champ, if not then have Vitor fight Chael for that title.

Goddamn Rumble really? He cuts to Welter and just about always makes weight but he can't make 185? Idiot.

A hundred and ninety seven pounds....

Think about that for a second. He came twelve pounds overweight.

He's going to have to show
Up at 205 for the fight tomorrow. Can't wait til they wheel him out on a fucking gurney and lay him down in the ring for Belfort to just mollywop him.

So... Rumble going to Bellator soon?

It's a shame because he's very entertaining but that shit is inexcusable. You'd think after cutting to 170 for so long he could make 185 easy, maybe he thought itd be a cake walk and put no effort into the cut, oh well.

Uhh, if a medical condition prevented him from making the agreed weight then I don't necessarily think he should be overtly punished. Though it is completely unfair to a guy like Belfort who walks around close to 205, having to cut to 185 and losing a lot of his endurance and strength while Rumble feels comfortable. It's a bad situation.

And why isn't ESPN covering boxing where Pazqiao and Mayweather make tens of millions per show and the undercard fighter makes 10k? With their declining PPV numbers I wouldn't feel settled with the UFC increasing their costs.

If it is a medical condition that prevented him from making weight then I will retract my harsh statement. But, if he just plain missed weight I will not. Not to mention he has a history of missing weight, which makes me more inclined to be pissed at him.

Fact of the matter is that Rumble agreed to the fight at 185. He had at least three months notice and he weighed in at 197, which is 12 pounds above the 185 lb limit.

Vitor may walk around at 205 but he made the weight. Rumble used to fight at 170, this was his first fight at 185 because making 170 took a toll on him. He has no excuse.

I think what happened was that Rumble underestimated the cut, and figured he could easily make it in a day or two, rather than spend the entire week cutting down. And it ended up costing him, because obviously he got sick from it.

I like Rumble a lot and wish him nothing but the best, but I agree with Guy... there's no excuse for him missing weight. It was completely irresponsible and he has no one to blame but himself.

Also, that's very unfortunate to hear Anderson got another injury. It's easy to forget that he's 37 years old. Spending all those years in Chute Boxe and Blackhorse, where they're both notorious for going 100% during training (especially Chute Boxe), it's all just catching up to him. And since Anderson most likely isn't some TRT taking cheater/coward, the injuries are keep on piling up. :(

Look at the vid i posted earlier this month with Anderson sparring with Bader. In regards to Johnson, medical condition my ass. You know why he had that "medical condition?". Because he's destroyed his body cutting the massive amounts of weight over the years. Now, he told the fans that criticize him to go fuck themselves and that he doesn't care. The guy is a piece of trash

Dana said Rumble's job is on the line, Win or Lose. I'm assuming this means that if Rumble turns it into a lay and pray fest like he did against Dan Hardy, he's still cut. Belfort basically needs to be on the receiving end of a highlight reel KO for Rumble to keep his job.

Also, Vince McMahon put the kibosh on Punk escorting Sonnen to the cage later this month. Fuck you, Vince.

I don't really get why Vince nixed Punk on UFC. It's not like he was going to fight or get himself injured. If anything it would have been extra exposure for the WWE champion, which seems like only a good thing.

Rumble had trouble gaining feeling in his legs from the massive amount of weight he had to cut, and his doctor told him to rest up on stop cutting weight.

Also, they're making him weigh in again, and if he is more that 205 pounds, than the fight is off.

That's definitely true, but Vince has been known to cut off his nose to spite his face. I'm not surprised.

He weighed in at 204.2. Belfort said he'll weigh at least 205 for the fight as well. I really like Rumble, but I really hope Belfort knocks him out tonight.

He was 30 lbs over two weeks out of the fight. Thats why he was fucking sick, it's insane that people make excuses for him.

When did he weigh in? just wondering.

Also, I wasn't making an excuse for him? I was just sharing what I heard on the situation, I know that missing weight by as much he did is completely unacceptable and should move up to 205 should he win, and get cut should he lose.

Wouldn't it be smarter to cut weight as soon as possible and train at fighting weight, especially if you're switching weight classes? Or should you start mid-training or what?

God, i'm still in shock over the PPV last night. That is tied with 134 as my favorite PPV of all time.

The picture of Aldo being held up by the crowd will be a picture we as MMA fans will see for the rest of our lives. A truly legendary moment and nobody deserves it more than that kid.
