In other news, Sean Mccorkle made some racist comments about Akiyama and joked about Evan Tanner's death in an attempt to become relevant. I also heard Fedor just had a baby girl but I'm not positive if it's legit.

He already got booted from the UFC fortunatly, after losing to Struve and Morecraft. I thought he was a funny dude when he first came to the UFC but messing with Akiyama and joking about one of my all time favorite fighter's (Evan Tanner)death? At the recommendation of some of you a while back I finally got around to watching PRIDE 33, also my first PRIDE show..

HOLY SHIT, I loved the general atmosphere alone, felt like I was watching the world cup, the best of the best, I never really get that impression with UFC.. In fact, with the UFC's opening alone I feel a little embarrassed watching it with others around (the gladiator intro never fails to get a giggle if someone hasnt seen it before). It dawned on me that it took something like 25 minutes for the first fight to even begin and I didnt care. I loved the way they introduce all the fighters at the start of the show, and I especially love that opening theme, straight on my exercise playlist for sure.. Even though the UFC presents the best fights and the best fighters, I never feel like I am watching a giant event. PRIDE 33 made me feel like I was watching Wrestlemania.

The fights were good too

Very excited for Fedor vs Hendo, though I love both guys I am pulling for Fedor to win.

I actually just watched 33 the other day, got it in a set with 31-33

If that wasn't an amazing fight then I don't know what is. That was probably the defining moment in Nick's career, so idiotic that the win was overturned because he tested positive for pot of all things.

On that Pride 33 dvd, the main event is ofcourse Wanderlei vs Hendo, and that has me even more pumped for saturday! Fedor vs Hendo will be extremely awesome, and anyone who says differently is an idiot.

Anyways, Overeem may be stripped of his title after taking a fight in Japan. Rumor has it that he faked the toe injury as well. Personally, I think he should have been stripped a long time ago. It's clear he doesn't want to fight the best after not defending the belt for 3+ years.

I always find that the craziest thing about Pride 33 is that it was in the US and was still intense as hell. Such an amazing atmosphere and card. Diaz vs. Gomi and Hendo vs. Wandy are both fights at the top of my favorites list. Oh, and Sokodjous KO of Lil Nog and Kharitonov ripping Russows fucking arm off. Seriously, fuck Russow.

Diego basically admits he positioned himself to take out Rashad so his "Brother in God" could get a title shot.

Also, looks like Overeem is headed to the UFC. Maybe take on Mir in his debut?

It was probably the best fight of the night to me, I didnt know alot of the results before watching it (other then Rua beating Overeem). Lil Nog getting knocked out was a huge surprise, I imagine the odds of that would have been incredible back then..

I dont think there was a bad fight on that card, even in the one sided battles guys like Ireland showed enough heart to make it exciting and leave the ending in doubt.

I really want Fedor to win this. There is so much less harm to be done if Henderson loses, we can just go "But it was Fedor"

Fedor's fans are almost as bad as Bandwagon Jon Jones fans, they argued against the stoppage in the Bigfoot fight and now this? The first shot Hendo hit's Fedor with after the reversal put his lights out for a moment and then he got the smackdown laid on him, very justified stoppage.
