NFL Week 11 LD

I have a very hard time believing that Jackson could do much worse. If not for the Cowboys they would be the biggest joke in the league. What they have with Favre isn't working. At worst it could not work with Jackson at the helm and at best he's better than Favre. How can they know for sure until they try?

Using that theory, the WWE should take Cena and Orton out of the main event and put Santino in there.

At worst, their ratings keep dropping, and at best, Santino becomes the next Hulk Hogan. How can they know for sure until they try?

Seems kind of silly to me, too.

Gonzalez with a rare dropped pass so the Falcons have to settle for a FG, but at least we have the lead now. Let's go defense and get this ball back.

Tennessee fans, I hope you know that our victory today is bittersweet. If the 'Skins hadn't been so horrible last week, they surely wouldn't have had the motivation to beat a team as solid as yours today.

And they've lost their last two, and I haven't heard any commotion about the coach. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, they LIKE their coach.

And have lost two straight, and won those game by playing for a coach they like, I do believe.

Incorrect. At the beginning of the season, it was in question that Mangini would be out-right fired and/or replaced because so many of his players disliked the hard work-ethic he enforced.

While I don't know when all that died down; I believe the hits Cribbs & Muhammad took off Harrison, as well as McCoy coming in and looking like the 2nd best QB (behind Bradford) to come out of this year's draft.. it took a lot of the spotlight off Mangini's issues with his players.

I'm also not disagreeing with you that a lot of Minnesota's issues start with the players NOT respecting their HC, much the same way Dallas' players didn't respect Phillips.

When Cena and Orton in the main event drop them to a far cry from what they consider a success, I'd agree. Favre has the team at a bad record. Cena and Orton have given them success. This would be more like TNA bringing out the same stuff and being surprised when the ratings go up once in awhile and then come tumbling down again slowly.

Man, Ryan missed Gonzalez on an easy TD opprotunity and have to settle for another FG. At least we get the ball back after halftime.

The Panthers weren't early Super Bowl picks either.

No offense to Dallas, but when aren't they "early Superbowl picks". They've constantly had everyone thinking they're better than they are.

Its hard to look at them as less than, even with all the "early predictions" when they haven't been a real Superbowl threat since the 90's.

By this point, I don't think anyone is truly shocked at them not being a Superbowl contending team; its just people are likely more shocked they had a bad offense under Romo and co. early in the season.

That's true for the most part but I'd think they were rated higher than the Panthers.

Sly's endless love of Favre never ceases to amaze me.
The blind hate for Favre is what never ceases to amaze me. If people would quit being so stupid when it comes to Favre, I would probably wouldn't defend him as much.

But the idiocy that comes out of people's mouths (and keyboards) when it comes to Favre just frustrates me. It's like today on the NFL show on CBS, when Shannon Sharpe said Favre should be benched because last week he had three interceptions...and never once bothered to note that the last TWO of those interceptions came because Favre's receivers fell down. As if Tavarus Jackson has the magical ability to prevent his receivers from falling down after he throws the ball.

It's that kind of sheer ridiculousness that causes me to defend Favre so much.

But you can't deny that over the last couple of years, the WWE ratings have gone down and never rebounded. With your line of thinking, the WWE should be putting Santino in the main-event, just to see what happens.

It's not like we haven't seen Tavarus Jackson before. In fact, the reason the Vikings signed Favre in the first place is because Jackson couldn't get the job done. Now, all of a sudden, he's the answer?

Gone down a bit yes. Gone far below expectations to the point where the show/season is a failure (I'd consider this one a failure but I wouldn't put up much of an argument for it) is a different story though as they're nowhere near that. And they almost did put Santino in the main event of Bragging Rights, or at least in the co-main event.

Jackson got them to the playoffs in his last season as a starter. That's better than what Favre is doing this season. It's not like Jackson was a total bust. He went 8-4 one year and then got them to the playoffs the next. He has a decent record in the NFL so it's not like they're throwing some rookie or guy that has never done anything at all to the wolves.

And when they brought Favre in, they went 13-3 last season. Clearly, Favre's season last year is better than Jackson's season two years ago. And if Rice, Berrian and Harvin had been at full strength, and the defense was playing up to their potential, do you doubt the Vikings would be in the thick of the NFC North race?

This is very true. If Favre was having even a .500 season I wouldn't be having many issues at all with this. I'm not sure about the offensive issues as the Colts' offense is decimated by injuries and Manning has them going strong, but that's a different story.

The issue I have is this: yes, Favre is probably better than Jackson. However, Favre at QB this season is not working and according to him it's his last season. With that and his record to go on, why should you waste the rest of the season when you're out of contention when you could get a head start on next season?

Ryan is making some poor passes now, but the Rams don't have good field position this drive which is what they usually have on the scoring possessions. We need a quick stop here defense.
