MMA June - 50 Shades of Gray

Tim Sylvia won by TKO in 12 seconds the other day. We'll never hear the end of his incessant bitching at this rate...

I still think one of the funniest things (and there are a bunch, including stalking pornstars on Twitter) about Tim Sylvia is that he routinely let himself get bullied by a dude 100 lbs lighter than him.

Yeah sorry Tim but nobody's gonna remember your 12 second win, just your 32 second loss to Abe Wagner and your 9 second loss to Ray Mercer.

And that is why I like Matt Hughes ever so slightly.

I still say there's no harm in letting Sylvia fight in the UFC. What harm can be done? If he gets his ass completely handed to him, that'll be worth watching. And if he wins, that'll be worth seeing as long as he puts on a show. With him asking for such little money, I just don't understand why not give him a shot, especially with all the injuries and suspensions as of late.

Tim Sylvia vs. Stefan Struve would be gold.

I'm dying for another comeback season of TUF, it'd be funny to see a former champion on there but it could give em some ratings. Only problem is I can't think of enough good HW's for a comeback.

Well, if you were going to do a TUF Heavyweight Comeback season, you could do...

1.) Tim Sylvia
2.) Todd Duffee
3.) Jeff Monson
4.) Jon Madsen
5.) Soa Paleilei
6.) Andrei Arlovski
7.) James Toney
8.) Anthony Johnson

Luiz Cane out of UFC 150 vs. Okami but now the matchup is interesting as Palhares is replacing him.

Okami's gonna lose a leg and his job.

Also, one of the TUF Brazil Finalist dudes got hurt.

Edit: Mark my words, Okami vs. Palhares will eventually wind up being something like Clifford Starks vs. Brad Tavares and make the main card...

I feel like for all Okami's years of success and never causing any issues for them they could give him another chance if he lost, but you never know these days. War Paul Harris!

Also the results of Feijao's fight with Kyle has been chances to a No Contest, now he's 0-1-1 against a less talented fighter hahaha.

Which is a shame because I think talent wise Feijaco is a top 5 Light Heavyweight in the sport.

And I think Okami escapes an early submission attempt from Palhares and then taps his glassjaw.

Feijao a top 5 talent?

I think he's a Top 10, but I wouldn't take him over:

1.) Jones
2.) Henderson
3.) Evans
4.) Shogun
5.) Machida

Speaking of Rumble, he's due to miss 205 come July when he makes his LHW Debut for Titan Fighting Championships.

I don't hold Hendo very highly and think Feijao is a better fighter than him despite the loss, but I wouldn't put him in my top 5. Somewhere around 7 or 8.

Can we get a Rumble vs. Zuluzinho fight already please? I know Rumble will have to cut weight to get to Zulu's weight but its only a couple pounds so its doable

Oh and while I making my monthly appearance I think Paul Harris is a bit over rated. I think he is good and I think he has top 6-7 potential but there was a lot of talk, especially on Sherdog earlier this year that he was the guy to knock off Andy. He probably won't ever be on that level. Hard not to like him though, especially if you have seen the video of him at his last birthday getting his first ever birthday cake

It wasn't only Shitdog, the Undergroud is guilty of overrating him as well. He's a one trick pony and likely always will be.

I wouldn't say he's overrated; he's very much like Shinya Aoki in that he has the skill set to beat anyone in his weight class on any given night, but the guy has a glass heart to go along with a glass jaw. You hit Palhares with one good shot and he's ready to cradle up and hand you the fight.

It's a shame to see the two best, most explosive Jiu-Jitsu fighters in the sport not be able to take a punch.

UFC: Nottingham is shaping up to be pretty decent. Struve vs Miocic should be an extremely fun fight, and Dan Hardy vs. Amir Sadollah should be exciting too.

Miocic is a killer and the way Struve tends to stand and bang early we may see a pretty nasty KO. Interesting to see how Hardy/Amir plays out. Amir has the grappling skills to take Hardy out of his striking game but mini Forrest may try to put on an entertaining fight and stand and bang. I'd rather buy this card than 147. I feel like I'd be paying to watch an episode of TUF if I planned on buying it

Spencer Fisher said he's pretty sure he's going to retire after his fight with Stout.

Him being "pretty sure" he's going to retire most likely means that if he wins, he'll keep fighting, if he loses, he'll hang them up.

The Nottingham card already blows 147 out of the water, Struve vs Miocic is going to be a blast. Throw in Sass-Wiman,Hardy-Sodallah and Ludwig-Mills and you have a kickass card. I'd like to think in Bang's fight he's got a good chance but idk. :/

Wow... this is in-fucking-credible. Here's a recent picture of an obviously off the juice Alistair Overeem.

I love how he's talking about being all natural and wanting to take drug tests to prove it, yet he's obviously been on and is just getting off. >_< God he went from a massive HW to a 205er.
