Personally as soon as shit had gone down I'd have booked a random title match between Sting and Ric Flair to fill up the last 10 minutes.
Would have been shit, but if we take the view that people didn't know this was going to happen then there would probably only be a minute or two to come up with a new plan. Best I could come up with without applying any kind of though.

I have seen Zeven be critical of TNA once, and it wasn't as bad as this. I'm sure he'll use his brain here.
Dammit run the same angle of Sting being attacked on the back by immortal and have Bischoff rush the match before the #1 contenders match to try and get the belt back only for Sting to get a quick roll up or something; then have RVD and Mr. Anderson tear the house down.

Are we totally sure this is Hardy though? I mean, this is TNA. They just had a double countout match not ten minutes before.
Okay, just found out what happened. Positively absurd. That shit might fly at Destination X or some other BS off month show, but VICTORY ROAD?! No. No. The road to Lockdown is in full swing and you don't want to leave a bad taste in the people's mouths right now. Absolutely horrible move. Someone screwed the pooch here.

One difference: there was a competitive and long match before that. The fans got a match before the bad finish. That wasn't the case in the main event. Also, it's the main event, as in what the show is built on. This was a massive FUCK YOU to the fans and a boneheaded move by TNA.
It might be sting being injured but it's more likely Hardy since he was sitting in the ring while they had the official presentation
