TNA Ask a Question Thread

I thought the British Invasion was currently holding both the X-Division title shot, And the World title shot. Is it true?

They have been ever since they attacked LAX backstage, injuring Hernandez and stealing both of the briefacases. Brutus Magnus has the World Title shot and Doug Williams had the X Division shot. He defended it in an open challenge before, in a ladder match against Deanera a month or 2 ago.

Last week he made the same open challenge, and Homicide accepted, returning from an abscence after the death of his father. Homicide won the briefcase after Team 3D interfered, and the BI, Kyoshi, and Bashir beat down 3D in the ring seemingly forgetting about Homicide.

I've been watching TNA off and on for awhile and IDK if it's just me or anyone else but TNA is becoming the next WCW. That's not a good thing I remember when WCW would pick up any the old WWE/WWF wrestlers. That's all I see in the main event is the old guard. If TNA is going to succed they need to start bringing in new non WWE wrestlers and promoting the ones that's been there for awhile. If not they'll be become like WCW and be out of business.

Is it just me or is TNA hoping that The M.E.M. turn into the new version of the NWO? I really liked it when it was the original 5 guys, and they were after 1 common thing, RESPECT but now they seem to be just 1 big copy of a newer NWO. The funny thing is 1 of there enemy's happened to be the same enemy that NWO had with it being Sting.

Closed questions only in this thread please.

What gimmick is Cheerleader Melissa (Raisha Saeed) actually using in TNA. Because I think she's had a few so far

I think she's been Melissa only a handful of times. I can only think of one. Also one match as Allissa Flash. Other than that it's been Saed.

Ah, yes, you're right there GD. I was unsure of whether the match was 4 on 4 or every team for themselves, and that dastardly Wikipedia led me to believe 3D and Beer Money were teaming.

Yes, GD's right, it was just Beer Money. TNA's website confirms that.

When was the last Monster's Ball match? I've been pushing that it'd be a great idea to use for Foley v Abyss, but don't want to sound like an ass if it just happened a few months ago :lmao:

I've been watching pretty religiously, just haven't paid attention to the PPVs until the last few months...

The last Monster's Ball match happened at this years Slammiversary. It was a mixed tag team match between Abyss and Taylor Wilder vs. Raven and Daffney.

Is Madison Rayne "Rain" from SHIMMER, and the same Rain who was Peyton Banks in TNA before? I think she's not but a friend insists she is. My topic was moved so im asking here...

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I can't face going through 500 posts.

Does anyone know when Awesome Kong's contract is up? Is it a renewable one-year deal, or a multi-year deal?

How did Sports Entertainment extreme formed and who were the memebers.

I knew a little bit about the faction, but here's the official Wikipedia entry on S.E.X.

Sports Entertainment Xtreme (S.E.X.) was a heel professional wrestling stable in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, once led by Vince Russo. It debuted in December 2002, but disbanded in mid-2003.

The angle began with a masked man known only as "Mr. Wrestling III" interfering in matches. On November 20, 2002 during a weekly TNA Pay-per-view, Jeff Jarrett defeated Ron Killings to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship with help from Mr. Wrestling III, who then unmasked and turned out to be Vince Russo. The following week, Russo gave Jarrett the choice to be with him or against him, which Jarrett declined, much to Russo's dismay. This led to numerous attacks on Jeff Jarrett. On December 4, 2002 Russo officially formed a faction called S.E.X. (Sports Entertainment Xtreme) with Don and Ron Harris and B.G. James.

This led to a takeover style storyline, where wrestlers would turn their backs on TNA and instead join S.E.X., similar to the New World Order storyline in WCW. On March 4, 2003 after months of feuding, Jarrett hit Russo on an emotional level when he showed a video with Russo's children pleading with him to stop what he was doing which led him to go into a fit and going as far as threatening to beat his children. The next day, Vince Russo "retired" in order to become a better father which started the decline of S.E.X.

On March 19, 2003 Sports Entertainment Xtreme descended into disarray. With Vince Russo gone, Glenn Gilberti tried to take control of the group. As soon as this happened, Sonny Siaki also tried to become the leader. On June 18, 2003, Russo said he "owned" the S.E.X. name, leaving them without a gimmick.

After a while the S.E.X. faded from existence and its former members went their separate ways, most remaining in TNA at the time.

Also, one of the more notable contributions of S.E.X. was the breaking out of "Triple X": Elix Skipper, Low Ki (Senshi), and Christopher Daniels.
Hopefully that answers your question...

E-Money:

You'd have to ask Dixie Carter and The Jarrett's for that answer, but considering the fact that the X-Division was it's main attraction during the company start-up, they named the company after the type of wrestling-style matches being all high-paced and being indeed non-stop action for the viewers. Add to the fact that it is a more wrestling-orientated show from the start and being different by not including a wrestling type phrase in their title may have influenced the decision. That would have to be my best guess.
