Road to Wrestlemania 28 - KEEP ALL WM28 GENERAL DISCUSSION IN HERE!!

With a few months between now and the last time I thought about this...here are my thoughts on the big matches. Cena vs Rock excluded because it's already announced (I think it will be non title).

WWE Championship - CM Punk (c) vs The Miz vs R-Truth. I think this might be the endgame of Miz, Truth, and Johnny Ace. Punk wins the title off of del Rio before year's end, and he feuds with Johnny and his cronies. Ace does all he can to get the title off of Punk, leading to the ultimate disadvantage - a triple threat for his title against his two right hand men. Probably the standard ending, with the heels getting jealous of each other and costing them the match.

World Heavyweight Championship - Daniel Bryan (c) vs Randy Orton. I'm starting to think that DB is going to snap, take the title off of Mark Henry or the Big Show after their next match when they destroy each other because of how fed up he is with losing, and turn heel shortly thereafter. Orton wins Royal Rumble, faces DB at Mania. I'd love to say I think that DB would win, but I know better. Probably Orton beats him and he and DB wrestle for a few months in a series of awesome matches that Orton comes out on top of.

The rest of the matches, who knows. The WWE rarely sets up anything else earlier than EC, so who can say.

1. sin cara vs rey mysterio...reys last match, finally passing the torch to mistico
2.money in the bank......shelton benjamin vs trent barretta vs jack swagger vs alex riley vs christian vs kane
3. divas chmpionship:beth pheonix vs natalya vs kharma
4. tag team title match: Kings of Wrestling vs The Uso's vs air boom(c).....could be a great athletic tag team match to try and add some prestige back into the divsion
5. intercontinetal cody rhodes vs john morrison
6.the miz vs r-truth
7. randy orton vs stone cold......the viper vs the rattle snake, the rko vs the stunner, would be a great match (not as good as punk vs austin but i feel that would overshadow the cena/rock macth)
8.us title: dolph ziggler vs samoa joe......joe needs to come to the wwe, and a feud with ziggler/guerrerro would be a great way to put him over
9.HHH vs HBK...would be a great match, see match #10 for build
9. whc:daniel bryan vs sheamus......bryan would go into this as a heel, would be a great story considering these two contested the dark match at wm27
10. undertaker vs sting...... sting would start of feuding with HHH about who should face taker at mania, leads to match at elimination chamber. during match HBK comes out and super kicks HHH because he feels nobodys paying him any attention....i feel sting and taker could work a great match even if it will never happen
11. WWEC: Y2J vs cm punk......the best in the world vs the best in the world at what he does, 2 of the best on the mic and in the ring going around, would be my match of the night and one of the best builds also
12. the rock vs john cena.... dont really have much to say except im praying that the rock wins

Needs to be done.

I went back and saw the Rock's return earlier this year....that coupled with John Cena's comeback promo the week later creates some must see TV...AGAIN. The WWE needs to air these two segments along with the other stuff that has happened between the two.

Never before has a match been booked a year in advance. Vince knows this could be the biggest match ever to take place in the WWE...and with that he needs to go balls out.

Everything they've done so far has been great. I like the fact that the two are teaming together at Survivor Series. But like I said, there's too much good material from both guys...it needs to be shown again.

An hour long show on the USA network a week or two before Wrestlemania showing the history between these two would help generate an enormous amount of buyrates.

Just something I thought of and wanted to share.

Hey, pretty cool, if you type "The Rock vs John Cena" or "John Cena vs The Rock" one of my videos are near the top of the list. Anyways, I've been noticing a huge jump in a couple of the videos I uploaded. Particularly THIS ONE.

I actually agree, that some kind of show would be a big help for this feud shortly before wrestlemania. Just... not as a part of Raw or Smackdown or anything like that.

good idea but an hour long, they'd have to draw it out alot
what history is there? other then showing recaps of each others accomplishments

the 2 had some comments on a social network and Cena ran his mouth off camera
then Rock comes back and rants like a whiny bitch for a few promo's

they have an altercation at Mania, then a repeat at Survivor Series. and who knows between that and Mania, i'd say there's nothing other then a promo once until after Elimination Chamber

There was no real build up, just seems like they wanted a way for Rock to return for a reason and threw him in with the top face of the generation. and leaving it for months at a time without even a glimpse that this match is still happening.

I like it. They really need to milk this thing for all its worth. Never has a match been set a year in advance, and these are two of the biggest names in wrestling history. Not just that, but they are constantly breaking the fourth wall and using real things to promote this rivalry. Most of cena's fans are little kids, and most adult males hate the hell out of cena. Plus its true, the rock is mostly just on the titon tron, and rarely makes in person appearances. This could be the biggest match ever, and they really need to add more fuel to the fire. With all the big names that have left in the past three years (jericho, edge, hbk, batista, taker to a degree, mysterio on injury, along with many others that im forgetting) they need something to give this wrestlemania a feel of big event, and this match alone can give it this feel.

When I read the topic, I thought you were an idiot. From reading your rationale, I think you're fucking brilliant.

It's a great idea, have a one-hour show hyping their roads to stardom. Something like UFC used to do (still does?) on Spike for their bigger cards.

I think you've got a great idea here. They can use the show (on regular TV, not PPV) to show highlights of The Rock's greatest WWE moments, and Wrestlemania moments and clips of his old and new promos. Then they can show the same for Cena.

Also, throw in interviews from superstars past and present, as well as Vince McMahon, and you've got yourself an hour long show.

Great idea.

since rock has busy schedule, he cannot appear on raw tv show on regular basis, the best way possible left is have John Cena show up at places where Rock is scheduled to appear.

have them stare down with each other or tease to attack or anything as per the story line involved

since i never really paid much attention after vince bought WCW, i didn't get to see the "Thug/Heel" Cena.

i think you can easily come up with great highlights of both the rock and cena in an hour. i'd watch it. i am sure a majority of cena's fans would to.

I feel like this is something that sounds great in theory, but when the time comes I'm going to change the channel. This could be done throughout an episode of Raw. Remember last week when Kevin Nash attacked Triple H and they replayed it over and over again? Those forty minutes are more than enough time to show a few packages about the feud, especially since their in ring confrontations are two face to face meetings, ten minutes of smack talk, and the BS Wrestlemania ending.

If you think that the WWE is going to have some life long road to Wrestlemania career retrospective, It's not going to happen. The Rocks entire career was leading to his match vs Hogan. Cena's career may be peaking, but his past as a WWE superstar isn't very interesting (he rapped for a while and than carried the Big Show on his shoulders. done.) As much as this match has a ton of heat going in, its just not the same vibe as an icon vs icon match. A guy that's been around for six years vs the guy that hasn't been around for six years isn't nearly as much of a draw as the great one vs the immortal one.

In all reality they're gonna have some primetime, Saturday night's main event style NBC show like they do every few years to push Wrestlemania, and I'm sure they'll have one video package they replay as much as they replayed the Big Show / Mark Henry Package a few weeks back.

And as far as a HBO 24/7 show, its going to be kinda hard to take watching Cena and the Rock train for this match seriously... ya know, since wrestling is fake and all.

good idea but an hour long, they'd have to draw it out alot
what history is there? other then showing recaps of each others accomplishments

By the time Wrestlemania rolls around, there will have been plenty of history to promote an hour long show. Remember, there's still Survivor Series coming up and the Royal Rumble, the two big events before Wrestlemania. There will be some action, guaranteed.

Everything that has happened between the two, showing the full segments and also their individual history and rise to becoming the #1 superstar in the business, in their respective era.

With the commercials it's actually looking more like 45 minutes.

A 24/7 approach wouldn't work. Nobody would care about their "training" since this isn't real. Leave that to UFC and boxing. However, there's plenty of footage to show in 45 minutes to hype up this main event match for Wrestlemania.

Vince would be stupid not to do it.

so as some of you know there was a rumour going around several months back that mysterio and Sin Cara would face off at mania, however mysterios injury may prevent it from happening, despite him trying to get back in the ring for mania.

so i was thinking with the sin cara vs hunico feud, about the fact mysterio was "taken out" by Del rio, and not to mention del rios uncle being inducted into the wwe hall of fame.

why not merge both storylines apon mysterios return.

have hunico and his boys join forces with del rio to take on sin cara and msysterio

then at mania we get a six man tag match

Del Rio, Hunico, Epico w/ Primo
Vs

Mysterio, Sin Cara, Averno

I can definetly see some form of tag match with possibly Rey and Sin Cara against Del Rio and Hunico. If Rey is still injured then maybe he can be the referee of the tag match. I see Rey and Sin Cara building a feud which will cultimate at Summer Slam 2012. Maybe a mask vs. mask match with Rey Mysterio losing, showing the WWE audience his face before he goes and passing the torch to Sin Cara.

As far as I remember there were talks of a Mysterio-Sin Cara match at WM28. If Mysterio does not recover in time for 'Mania, I think that it will be Hunico/Primo/Epico vs Sin Cara and Air Boom(or Usos). Or possibly Averno could be involved in this match(if he is signed by then).

I don't think that del Rio will be a part of this match though. He is currently the WWE champion and will be champion/contender at least till Rumble. I don't think that WWE will de-push him that much in 2 months.

Goldust has said on Twitter he wants a 'career match' against his brother Cody at Wrestlemania 28. I really like the thought of this. This match will have meaning! I think the build to it would be good aswell.

I am sold. Please do this WWE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Risky thing to ask because it could be met with ridicule, but with Undertaker seemingly coming back and Rock vs Cena taking care of the tickets, why not have Undertaker go up against a younger star? I know the whole 20-0 thing may make you think, why the hell would he go against this guy? And I agree but I'm just speculating in case Taker comes back. Barrett's suggested. So's Henry, and Orton. While he may be a bit on the small side (especially when compared to Taker), anyone ever thought of having Undertaker face Cody Rhodes? (i.e. w/ the kneepads) Seeing as he has the kneepads and has bulked up a lot recently, would it be possible? People suggest Punk all the time as well as Jericho so size-wise, no issue as far as I'm concerned.

The only issue imo would be Cody should probably defend and keep the IC title. While Taker hasn't actually won the IC title and it might be interesting, Cody should be IC champion for a LONG time, maybe even challenging that Honky Tonk Man record so while everything about it seems unrealistic, it's just a thought and fantasy booking on my part.

Most years you get a good idea and are able to predict at least one of the World title matches at Wrestlemania. Even months away from the ppv things start coming together and you can get a good idea of what the title matches are going to me. This year, however, I can genuinely I say I have no fucking clue what either title match will consist of and don't even have a prediction I feel even a little confident about. So I ask you, what are your predictions on who will be involved in the two World title matches at Wrestlemania?

I'm likely going to be completely wrong but I'll give it a shot anyways. With the World Heavyweight Title on Smackdown I believe that Mark Henry will go into the ppv as the champion. As to who his opponent will be, there are many different possibilities. I'm going to take kind of a cop out answer with this one and say that it will be a multi man match. In fact I''m predicting a fatal four way for the title. Henry will be champ going in, Daniel Bryan will cash in his MITB briefcase, Cody Rhodes will get into the match as the Royal Rumble winner, and Randy Orton will find some way to get into the match. That's obviously a lot going on there but I just can't see a straight up one on one match between Henry and Bryan happening. I do think Henry will drop the belt and I'm hoping it's to Cody Rhodes.

With the WWE Title on RAW, again, the only thing I'm somewhat confident in is the fact that Punk will be going into the ppv as champion. In terms of who his opponent, I don't even know where to start. I believe his next feud is going to be with Miz so that takes him out. I sincerely hope he is done with Del Rio after next week so that takes him out. I believe when R Truth comes back it will be as a face so that takes him out. Cena is tied up with The Rock so that takes him out. I think that whoever takes on Punk at Mania is not currently on the RAW roster. One of my theories is that Rhodes will win the Rumble and instead of being part of the Smackdown cluster fuck match he will use his shot to take on Punk. Another guess is that one of the returning superstars either Kane, Taker, or whoever this new video is about (assuming it's not Taker) will be taking on Punk. In the end I'm going to guess Punk vs Taker for the title with the Undertaker getting the win, only to lose the belt back to Punk at the next ppv.

Once again I have virtually no confidence in either of those predictions but at this point it's best I can come up with. Your turn.

WWE Championship:
The Miz (c) vs CM Punk

I have punk dropping the title at TLC to whoever he faces, winning the rumble, and facing the Miz, who wins the title at elimination chamber

WHW Championship:

Sheamus (c) vs Mark Henry vs Big Show

I see the title being vacated due to the broken leg and a six pack challenge at TLC which is Sheamus vs Big Show vs Kane vs Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes vs Wade Barrett and Big Show winning the title here. Then he holds it through Elimination Chamber, and loses it in the chamber to Sheamus. Next Friday night Mark returns and claims that he was never pinned for the title and deserves a rematch for it. Then Big Show comes out and says he deserves a match for the title. Then Teddy Long comes out and announces a tag team match for the main event at WM (just kidding). He announces a triple threat match. Sheamus wins with outside interference

Other matches:

Y2K vs Undertaker
Rock vs Cena
SCSA vs ?

Ill agree that Miz vs Cm Punk might be very possible. Dont know about a triple threat match between sheamus, mark henry and big show though.

I personally believe that regardless of who wins which championship at wrestlemania, my question is what is Daniel Bryan going to do? Is he going to start bragging about how hes gonna cash in on a specific person or is he gonna keep it quiet until the very last moment?!?

I am 100% sure Daniel Bryan will be facing the whc at wm the real question is whom though?

I believe Christian will come back in time for the royal rumble and win it, Mark henry will lose to Randy Orton at the rr for the belt.

For wwe title I have no fning idea. CM Punk is likely to be champion and might face Miz or Del Rio or Truth IDK!

Also who will face the Undertaker?......Kane maybe.

so heres my guess

Christian vs Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Championship
Winner and new World Champion: Daniel Bryan

Mark Henry vs Big Show
(i could see both men knocking each other out of action up until Elimination Chamber and compete at mania)
Winner: Mark Henry

Triple H vs Kevin Nash
(aint no way these guys will go just one match, this feud is pretty good right now)

Winner: HHH

Undertaker vs Kane
(yes i know they face each other before, but really whom other than maybe punk would face taker, plus kane is returning soon and its my guess hes returning with the mask)

Winner: Undertaker (20-0)

Wade Barrett vs Sheamus
(after barrett is done feuding with orton, he will likely go after sheamus and this feud will happen in the chamber)

Winner: Wade Barrett (he needs it more than sheamus does)

The Miz vs R-Truth
(you saw them splitting up on raw, its very likely truth will be face and will face miz at mania)

Winner: The Miz

CM Punk vs Chris Jericho for the WWE Title
(i belive this can happen if not who will face punk for the belt)

Winner and still champion: CM Punk

John Cena vs The Rock
(they have biuld this match since the rocks return on feb14. as long as cena stays healthy and same for rock this match will take place)

Winner: John Cena

i doubt most of these matches will take place but who knows still if this is the card (which is about 100-1 shot) than this will be a fucking awesome mania

AT Wrestlemania 28 it will be......

WWEC. C.M. Punk vs. Royal Rumble winner, The Miz, or Chris Jericho, if he comes back.

WHC. Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan, in a Fatal Four Way Elimination Match.

PLUS! THE PHENOM goes head to head with THE GAME, for the third and final time at WRESTLEMANIA. It will be....

Undertaker vs. Triple H., in a STREAK vs. CAREER MATCH, with special guest referee being the one and only H.B.K. ( Will he call it down the middle, will he help out his friend, or will he stop the Game from doing what he could not.) Find out at WRESTLEMANIA 28!

(lol) Obviously, this is just the way I see it going down. I wouldnt mind if it did turn out this way, though. Now my predictions on who will win these matches are as follows....

C.M.Punk defeats Miz or Jericho with the GTS!

Daniel Bryan Makes Mark Henry tap out after Sheamus and Orton are eliminated, to become the WHC.

AND finally, The Undertaker defeats the Game in an epic battle in which both opponents get super kicked by H.B.K. and goes 20-0 at Mania!

This is the way I see it all going down at Mania plus the Rock kicking Cenas candy ass all over Miami! (lol)

I see Punk and Miz headlining WrestleMania this year (well as close to headlining as you can get behind Cena/Rock and Undertaker/???) They can easily set this feud up and it can easily be a top feud for the WWE Title.

On Smackdown it gets a little more complicated with Orton, Christian, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Sheamus, Big Show, Kane, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, and now Daniel Bryan. I remember in an interview Bryan said he would love to face Orton at WM because he is the top dog on SD, so I think that is the direction they'll go

I will agree with the Miz V Punk at maina for the WWE title, but for the WHC I see a first which will be 2 title matches in one night. I got Mark Henry V the Royal Rumble winner, who at this point I got Shaemus winning, Henry looses the title and Bryan cashes in later in the night to only lose and snap and turn heel. Logically I dont understand why Bryan would want to use his contract to be part of the triple threat or fatal four way

WWE want to break the world record for most masks in a live audience. The rumours were Sin Cara was to face Rey Mysterio. Ok, we dont know if this was going to be a mask vs mask fight but if it was, could WWE still do something?

Will we see Sin Cara Negro come back (doesnt have to be Hunico). Will Del Rio adopt a mask? How about Kane and his mask?

I was looking forward to Rey vs Sin Cara but that is now off the cards so over to you.
