Booking Lesnar's Road to Wrestlemania 31

Terry Gyimah

Championship Contender
Night of Champions 2014- Lesnar (c) vs Cena- Since Cena is entitled to his rematch clause I could very well see Cena using that at Night of Champions but also this match could and probably would be used to plug subscriptions for the WWE Network so with that said isn't Cena also filming a movie to my understanding? So this would be the perfect way to write Cena out not that they could have already did that when Cena was embarrassed at SummerSlam

Hell in a Cell 2014- Lesnar (c) vs Batista- The dream match I think everyone including myself wants to see and especially putting these 2 behemoths inside a cage especially inside Satan's structure inside the Devil's playground inside Hell in a Cell in which both men have a history of being in this match, it would make for a great main event

Survivor Series 2014- Lesnar (c) vs Orton- Another match everyone including myself wants to see and not to mention putting The Beast up against one of the Authority's lackeys in Orton, Orton feels that he's the face of WWE still and to put him up against The Beast Incarnate especially in the main event at Survivor Series, people would actually be cheering for Lesnar in this match because I'm sure people hate Orton a lot more than they do Lesnar but also to see Orton get dominated by Lesnar here would be all the more entertaining

TLC 2014- Lesnar (c) vs Sheamus- This is another dream match that I know I definitely would love to see and not to mention building Sheamus back up as a legitimate main event threat especially to Brock should not be too hard but also when Sheamus first burst on to the scene everyone was comparing him to Brock but also these 2 have certain similarities to each other in terms of wrestling style that I think that they could put on a great match

Royal Rumble 2015- Lesnar (c) vs Jericho- If anyone could provide a good match for Brock here especially at the Rumble it is definitely Jericho that is if he is still around by then and not to mention the promo work here between Jericho & Lesnar/Heyman would be nothing short of golden here, building Jericho back up as a credible threat to Lesnar's title reign shouldn't be too hard

Elimination Chamber 2015- Lesnar (c) vs Ambrose- Instead of Lesnar being in the Chamber defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship he would be defending it against a man who is actually crazy enough to take on Lesnar, a man who is actually not afraid of Lesnar or anything for that matter, and what better way to build up Ambrose further than to have him face Lesnar? Then you have the Elimination Chamber to determine who will face the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31 and in the Chamber you would have Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins who will still be Mr. Money in the Bank at this time and Ziggler who would be the wild card in the Chamber with Daniel Bryan winning the Chamber to go on to WrestleMania 31 in the main event with Lesnar and the 2015 Royal Rumble Match winner, Roman Reigns

WrestleMania 31 (2015)- Lesnar (c) vs Bryan vs Reigns- Triple Threat Match to determine who the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion is, Lesnar does not even have to be involved in the decision to lose his title, and Bryan of course being in there because he won the Elimination Chamber but then you have the upstart Roman Reigns winning the Rumble Match by last eliminating the other half of this equation, Daniel Bryan, to win the Rumble but then you have Lesnar the dominant champion who of course has to defend his title against both these men. This ends in Roman Reigns becoming "The Man" it ends up in Reigns becoming the new "Cena circa 2005" of the company with Reigns pinning Lesnar to set up Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules 2015 which will then set up Seth Rollins' cash-in on his former Shield brother

Maybe I'm missing the point but Lesnar won't be working nearly all of those dates. He'll probably only work half of them. If he even works that many dates.

A Batista vs Lesnar feud works around SS or RR but Heyman vs Dave on the mic might be too brutal. Dave can't talk like that.

I like the idea of having Brock in a triple threat at Wrestlemania, that's a good idea. Adding a guy like Bryan would make the match a lot more entertaining for the fans. Reigns vs Lesnar would be pretty tough to watch if Reigns' in ring abilities don't change and improve.

The feud I'm most interested in is Ambrose vs Brock. If they truly want to push Dean as this Lunatic Fringe then that is the way to do it. It writes itself. Continue to push Brock as a monster and Ambrose being the one crazy enough to fight him. The promos between Ambrose and Heyman have the potential to be special and if it was a no DQ or falls count anywhere match that would make it even more believable.

You could have a match prior to that where Dean has to overcome a heel to earn the right to choose the match stipulation too.

If Lesnar actually wrestles more than 2 PPV's:

NOC- Cena rematch: Cena is booked stronger than Summerslam but still comes up short

HIAC- Lesnar (c) vs Masked Kane: Kane turns face against the Authority becoming Masked Kane all over again and tries to avenge his brother The Undertaker's loss at WrestleMania 30 by facing Brock in the Devil's playground inside Satan's structure inside Hell in a Cell. Kane has a decent showing but gets dominated towards the end by Brock.

Survivor Series- Lesnar (c) vs Batista: After Batista returns, he enters a feud with Orton and moves on to get this title shot. Possibly could have the Authority cost Batista the match to begin a Triple H-Batista feud that Batista wanted.

TLC - Lesnar (c) vs Batista vs Orton in a Triple Threat Tables Match- Lesnar puts both through tables or instead of that match you could have Lesnar (c) vs Ambrose in a Chairs match

Royal Rumble - Lesnar (c) vs Sheamus: I would really love to see this one, especially if Sheamus get's booked as more of a hard fighting warrior again

Elimination Chamber - Lesnar (c) vs Orton vs Ambrose vs Batista vs Sheamus vs Jericho inside the Elimination Chamber for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with Lesnar retaining by last pinning Jericho

Wrestlemania 31 - Lesnar (c) vs Bryan or Reigns if Bryan cannot compete or a Triple Threat with Lesnar taking on both Bryan and Reigns

To me, Brock doesn't go into Mania with the belt... its not needed if he faces Rock which is the better outcome. As I've advised elsewhere I can see all 3 Sheild members being in the title match at Mania with Rock/Brock being the other part of the main event so that is how I would book it.

NOC - Brock vs Batista - Drax is on a roll right now and if they are gonna capitalise he is the logical opponent for The Beat next... the movie is still somewhat hot and he will be far more over as a face from it. They don't have quite the squash Cena had but it's one sided enough that Brock still looks invincible.

HIAC - Rematch with Batista as above in the Cell closer match but again Brock comes out on top.

Surivor Series - If he's gonna wrestle, which I don't see happening then it's him captaining a Survivor Series team and them cleansweeping ala Martel's team in 1990. It's a good way to have Brock AND some other heels build... Who you put in there is a tough call as no one can really lose the credibility but I'd say reunite Cesaro as a Heyman guy for the night, add either Bo or the Wyatts or perhaps debut the Ascension... make it a real "monster team" so Brock barely has to "work up a sweat".

TLC - This is where it goes "wrong" for Brock... he "refuses" to wrestle at the event but is goaded into making an "open challenge" in the weeks before... it is answered in stunning fashion by a returning Dean Ambrose who upsets Brock and takes the title... Lesnar is beside himself and totally destroys Dean, allowing Rollins to cash in after he is escorted from the arena by security.... The Authority delay Brock's rematch and this begins some dissention.

The Royal Rumble - Brock is told to enter the Royal Rumble, which he is offended at and refuses to do... but vows to destroy anyone who holds the belt or who tries to stop him taking it back... Heyman tries to talk Brock into taking the Rumble chance and conquering 29 other superstars... or the whole competition in one go meanwhile Triple H is desperate to avoid Roman Reigns winning so he does a deal with Brock... if he DOES enter the Rumble he will do his best to make sure he wins... he has a team of Authority guys who will do "what's best for business"... of course Brock takes this to mean he will get #30... but Trips also implies if he can make sure Roman doesn't get to the ring at all, that would be better... However it goes horribly wrong... Brock prowls backstage throughout the match and is unable to find Reigns... when his music his...for the first time he doesn't enter through the crowd...but on the ramp, throwing Brock's plan off and making him MISS HIS NUMBER!

The match is nearing it's conclusion and Brock has yet to enter #30 comes and Triple H is livid and trying to tell the backstage people to get Brock out there...as Reigns is tearing though the final 10 guys when...

"Triple H... Brock Lesnar... I'm AFRAID I'VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS!!!"

Barrett makes his return in the coveted #30 slot and gets a massive face pop, siding with Reigns... Brock can't take any more and is seen fighting to get into the arena with security frantically trying to stop him... he is destroying people left and right...the final four are Barrett, Reigns, Bray Wyatt and Rusev.... Barrett and Wyatt take each other out of the match and Brock finally get to the ring when "IFFF YA SMEEEEELLLL" hits and the Rock races down, sending Brock flying and distracting Rusev enough for Reigns to hit the Superman punch and send him over the top... the match ends with Reigns and his cousin standing tall while Brock , Heyman and Trips are shellshocked their plan failed... not sure it would be much "cleaner" than that as for this Rumble to be effective it needs to get Reigns as winner, have Trips try to stop him, have guys like Wyatt and Rusev not lose momentum AND get a returning Barrett (he will be fit by then) back in such a way to cover the inevitable face turn that will come with his return...

Incidentally if fit, Bryan is facing Rollins on the night for the title... if not then it's Chris Jericho to face Rollins for the belt.

Brock once again "leaves WWE" in the aftermath as he feels trips has lied, cheated and insulted him... but Trips entices him back with "the Money match" against the Rock...

First of all, there's no way Lesnar is wrestling at every single PPV. He's wrestling at 3 or 4 of the 6 matches. And since that's the case, I don't think he should be having any rematches, outside of the one with Cena he's inevitably going to have (they pretty much set it up on Raw already imo)

I think it's foolish to assume Brock WON'T be at all the Pay-Per-Views. I may be wrong, but I fully expect him to be at all of them, and if not all... he only misses one.

He's only going to have three opponents prior to his eventual WrestleMania opponent, anyone predicting he's going to face Wyatt or Ambrose... it's just not going to happen. Batista, Cena and Orton are the only three opponents he's going to have, and obviously we'll get the Elimination Chamber match in February which will feature Lesnar and five others.

I'm not going to bother making a list, but I assume it'll go Cena/Orton/Batista in terms of the order and PPV's. The only PPV's I could see him not doing are TLC and The Royal Rumble but if he doesn't do TLC that means that two of the past three years, the event hasn't featured a WWE Title Match. Not to mention there have already been 1-2 PPV's this year the title wasn't defended due to Bryan's injury.

IF he doesn't do a PPV, it'll be the Rumble, only for the fact that it isn't needed.

Night of Champions: Lesnar (c) vs. Randy Orton. At this time, The Authority is ready to take their belt back, and are going to do it with Lesnar laying down for Orton. Oops... no way, no how. The Authority realizes just how deep they are, and what an evil beast they've unleashed, when Lesnar kills the ever loving crap of Orton. This will help establish Lesnar not as a heel, but as a force of nature that nobody whatsoever can stymie.

HIAC: Lesnar (c) vs. Retro Kane. We all know Kane's been on his way out for a while now, and what a better final sendoff would it be, than to have his final match in the exact same environment in which he first appeared? Lesnar murdelizes Kane right into a well-deserved retirement. This is The Authority's last attempt to get the belt off of Lesnar before giving up and focusing on other things.

Survivor Series: Lesnar (c) vs. John Cena. Burn the rematch here, at one of the big four. Just because it's one of the big four.

TLC: Lesnar (c) vs. Rob Van Dam. A sweet little bookend to the Paul Heyman angle. We all know RVD doesn't have a whole lot of dates left, so why not give him a proper sendoff fighting Paul Heyman's current chosen one in an environment that would help RVD out, a TLC match?

Royal Rumble: Lesnar (c) vs. Sheamus (US). A throw-away match on a card that showcases the Rumble more than anything, but it'd be a good opportunity to go ahead and get rid of the US title. Say title vs. title, and US title gets glommed into the WWE title.

Elsewhere, Roman Reigns wins the Royal Rumble. Probably after being forced by the Authority to enter at #1.

Elimination Chamber - Lesnar (c) vs. Dean Ambrose. The Authority, who would rather have Lesnar as champ than Regins, puts Reigns' running buddy Ambrose in a match in order to show Reigns what's in store at Mania.

Elsewhere, Roman's put in the elimination chamber and forced to defend his #1 Contendership against five mid-carders in the actual Elimination Chamber match. He wins.

Wrestlemania 31 - Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns. The inevitable conclusion. Complete with Roman just barely pulling off a victory. Rollins cashes in on a near-dead Reigns, but Lesnar kills the crap out of Rollins, and for the first time, Lesnar finally shows some respect to someone, saying he wants his rematch, but he wants it the right way.

Lesnar isn't going to work all those dates, nor should he. If the WWE wants a dominant champion, this is the time to do it. They've shown the ability to come up with compelling storylines aside from the heavyweight title picture. So I'd prefer they go back to the old days where you didn't see the champion as much as you do now.

While Lesnar having the title brings back more of it's prestige, it's not needed to keep the WWE going as long as everyone steps up their game.

Guys like Cena, Reigns and Orton are popular with or without the belt.

I don't think Lesnar should appear at every PPV before Mania. A break would be good for his character and just general TV. He should almost certainly be champ at Wrestlemania 31 and, on that night, drop the belt to Reigns.

Night of Champions - I'd personally enjoy him facing someone like Jericho but it looks like it will be a rematch with Cena.

Hell in a Cell - There are plenty of options. Batista, Swagger, Cesaro and Sheamus could and would be enjoyable. Sheamus is a great worker who is already established and would take a hell of a beating. Sheamus and Brock could put on a physical match especially inside HIAC.

Seth Rollins cashes in would be the next logical step. Let Brock go back to his farm and give Rollins a chance. He will probably be done with Ambrose and this is the best time. It would be idiotic to have him cash in on Reigns just a few weeks after he wins the big one. Brock could get beaten down by several names or even just The Undertaker.

Royal Rumble - Brock comes back and reclaims his belt. The only issue is Rollins being heel. I suppose they could do a triple threat with either Bryan or Ambrose.

NOC: Brock (c) v Jericho
HIAC: Brock (c) V Sheamus
Raw: Seth Rollins cashes in
Royal Rumble: Seth Rollins (c) v Brock v Ambrose/Bryan
Elimination Chamber: Brock (c) v Orton v Ambrose v Bryan v Rollins v Ziggler
WM31: Brock (c) V Reigns

NOC- Lesnar (c) vs Cena III
HIAC- Lesnar (c) vs Masked Kane (Hell in a Cell Match)
SS- Lesnar (c) vs Batista
TLC- Lesnar (c) vs Sheamus (Tables Match or a Chairs Match)
RR- Lesnar (c) vs Orton
EC- Lesnar (c) vs Orton vs Bryan vs Ambrose vs Cena vs Ziggler (Elimination Chamber)
WM31- Lesnar (c) vs Reigns

NOC- Lesnar (c) vs Cena
HIAC- Lesnar (c) vs Big Show
SS- Lesnar (c) vs Orton
TLC- Lesnar (c) vs Sheamus
RR- Lesnar (c) vs Batista
EC- Lesnar (c) vs Wyatt vs Cena vs Reigns vs Ziggler vs Ambrose
WM 31- Lesnar (c) vs Bryan

The way to get around Batista vs Brock is to put Vince McMahon in Batista's corner. Vince could really help build Batista back up and would also have his back on the mic in the battles with Heyman. You could also have Vince cost Batista the match and throw Triple H into the storyline culminating in Batista vs Triple H.

The story pretty much writes itself.

I would also love to see a 'wildcard' get a shot at Lesnar to keep things interesting. That man would be Dean Ambrose. Seeing 'the Loose Cann....sorry Lunatic Fringe' go mental on Lesnar would be great viewing.

Sheamus is another that could be considered. He is a fan favourite and pretty popular so that would work well and Sheamus is a credible opponent first and foremost.

Randy Orton is another but I think he needs rebuilding. Far too many defeats the last few months to be taken seriously.

I said in an earlier thread, Big Show is due his annual 4th quarter push and will probably happen soon.

Not so sure on Daniel Bryan. I think that ship sailed at Summerslam.

These gentlemen, could take us through to Wrestlemania where he will fight Roman Reigns.

HIAC- Lesnar (c) doesn't defend the title here (No PPV)
SS- Instead of Lesnar (c) vs Orton, how about Lesnar (c) vs Sheamus
TLC- Lesnar (c) vs Ambrose
RR- Lesnar (c) vs Batista
EC- Lesnar (c) vs Batista vs Cena vs Orton vs Ambrose vs Wyatt (Elimination Chamber)
WrestleMania 31- Lesnar (c) vs Bryan
