NFL Week One LD - IT'S BAAAAAACCCCKKKKK!!!!!

I think Payton is NO's play caller. Didn't play action fail on the 4th down earlier? Just waking up so my memory could be shit.

Both QBs were incredibly sharp last night. I would not name either best QB in football at this point in the season. The only thing that stood out to me was that Rodgers came out more accurate and Brees caught a bad break with the early fumble. I would take either guy to lead my team.

The kickoff thing is now really weird. It definitely takes something from the flow of the game when you go commercial-touchback-commercial.

I picked 9 & 12 in my fantasy league and took Rodgers and Jennings. It is a new league for me and I should have realized passing TDs are only worth 4 and receptions are worth nothing. At least both guys still paid off the week.

Sean Payton calls every play, Becker.

And I agree that it was a bad call. I guess them failing with the play action on 4th and 1 earlier in the game made them insecure about throwing it on a one play down again.

An NFL team needs to be able to get a yard at anytime from it's running game in order to succeed. I don't blame Payton for the call one bit. The guys on the line did not execute.

One of the things I remember about the 90's is that by the end of a game an offensive line should have beaten down a defensive line so badly that the defensive line would be hopeless in short yardage.

In today's NFL with all of the passing and larger roster that doesn't seem to hold true any longer. If anything the offensive lineman are getting more worn out by having to pass block and run more after all of the big yardage plays. Or maybe these guys are so well conditioned and pharma'd up that they are just as strong in the 4th as the 1st?

I don't think we can jump to conclusions that Brees is #1 after one game. Brady didn't make it known week one last year that he was the best QB, but by the end of the season everyone knew.

Yes it did, and both times, the Saints O-Line blew it. Their O-Line and their secondary lost the game for NO last night, and if anyone's fired, it should be the defensive coordinator for the saints. WHY WOULD YOU PUT PATRICK ROBINSON ON GREG JENNINGS? Greg put the team on his back, and torched Robinson that entire game.

For who's better, I'm going to have to go with Brees, but neither are the best in the NFL (hey Tom Brady). I pick Brees because he has a lot less to work with. The Packers have the best receiving core in the entire NFL, and with the tremendously smart pick of Randall Cobb only makes it better. Brees has Colston who had a very poor night last night; along with Devery Henderson, who is still maturing, and also didn't have a great night last night. In my opinion the top 5 quarterbacks in the league are:

1. Tom Brady
2. Drew Brees
3. Aaron Rodgers
4. Peyton Manning
5. Michael Vick (coming from a Giants fan)

On to fantasy, it was a surprisingly pretty good night for me. In the league that I follow the most (auction keeper league, it's great), I am losing 33-16, after Jordy Nelson giving me 16 points, as for my opponent, Aaron Rodgers gave him 24 points, and Marcus Colston gave him 9. I have Matt Ryan going for me Sunday, so if he can atleast come close to matching Rodgers, than I have a pretty good chance of winning against the best team in the league, and the team that won it all 2 years ago (the league's inaugural year), so even though I'm currently losing, that was a great game for my team.

Okay, Sean Payton should rethink his play calling abilities. When they lined up in that formation everyone knew they were going to run. You have an elite QB, solid receivers, so i say throw the ball. It was an all around bad call. If you're going to run do it in another formation. Let your solid o-line dominate the line...

Some fantasy football help

Who to start? Dez Bryant vs Jets or Lee Evans vs Steelers. Normally it'd be Bryant, but the Steelers secondary isn't great, at least compared to the Jets.

Lee Evans is a bit shaky of a start as he is in a new offense. Sure Dez has the worse matchup in terms of the secondary, but Dez is the much better player and I believe he is still doing punt returns, so that is an added bonus. Romo will find ways to get Dez the ball and he'll get his share of catches. I'd go with him.

Mike Thomas, I'm in one too, and Jordy Nelson got me 16 points go Mike Thomas.

You know what, fine.

PPR league, Danny Woodhead, LT, or Plax? Woodhead is currently starting.

I was thinking Plax too, but I was wondering if he is used to the offense yet. It's also his first actual game in a while. Matthew Berry does have him as a sleeper, so I'll see if Fantasy Football Now has anything to say to him, but I will probably start him. I have until 8:20 to decide, so I'll wait it out to see how my match up goes.

That's hard, it's between Benson and Tate IMO, but I say go with Benson.

I think the game most will sleep on is NY vs Wash... The fact that today is 9/11 will play heavily in this NFC match-up

Can't wait to watch my Giants wreck Washington. It's going to be an emotional game definitely. I have a friend who lost his dad in 9/11, and watching the tribute will be special.

Switching off between Steelers vs. Ravens and Eagles vs. Rams this week.

In fantasy I had to choose between starting the Ravens D or the Steelers D because I can't start both because they're playing each other. I started Pittsburgh; deeply regretting that now.
