WWE RAW LD 2/27/2012 - We've Heard About Cena Rising Above Hate, But Can Dwayne?

Really ain't you so much as it seems everyone thinks this promo sucks. Again, got the crowd eating out of his hand. Te crowd loves, loves this man. And all you do is say he's getting cheap pops out of his ass?

Can you not admit this promo was just catchphrases and curse words? Granted, Rock had the crowd eating of his hand. But it was so generic and plain, I can only assume the notes on his wrist said this.

It was the same thing from July, 2011. It was awesome, and the crowd loved it. But it was the same, damn thing.

If I didn't rep you earlier tonight, I would have repped you right now. Very fucking true.

Very underwhelming if you ask me.

I was greatly looking forward to the Rock running away with his "i fight for the people thats tired of your bullshit" argument but then he quickly went back to pandering with the crowd. Then the typical standing tall stuff. 4 more weeks, more is bound to happen I guess

You're forgetting him explaining why he isn't back every week, why he's back now, what his beef is with Cena, why he wants to fight him, did you miss that, as well?

Besides that, as bad as this sounds, the cath phrases got humongous pops. Why would he deviate from what's working? If the crowd love it, why purposely change for no reason? Go with what's working

The Super Fun, Hokey (Yet Hilarious) Hour (or Two)
Question-a-Thon!

Will the Rock be able to respond to John Cena in a serious manner, or are we asking too much?
Will this be the Rock or Dwayne Johnson speaking to us?
Will Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk III take place tonight?
Will there be a continued tease on the Undertaker's hair situation?
Will we see some solid build for the two World championship matches at WrestleMania?
Will we learn of any new Hall of Fame inductees?
Will Long vs. Ace continue to be compelling, yet hilarious?
Will the undercard begin to take shape ahead of WrestleMania?
Oh, and Randy Orton is rumoured to be featuring on tonight's show!

No. New catchphrases =/= serious response.
Rock.
Yes.
No.
Yes, some build.
No.
Yes.
Yes.
No Orton.

That was one of the weakest Rock promos I've ever watched. Cena won the day again. Hopefully they let Rock off the leash in the next couple of weeks.

Very, very disappointed in The Rock's promo. Stuttering and stammering was very unbecoming of The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment. When it comes to cutting a serious promo, simply put, Rock fell flat. Cena has the dynamic that The Rock doesn't - versatility in his promos.

Crowd is all that matters.

I'd much rather listen to someone work the crowd with talking points than listen to someone repeat the lines they have been practicing all day without any interaction.

It almost felt like the Rock was unsure of himself tonight, that the cockiness was actually just a mask for some insecurity on his part. I wonder if he isn't quite sure that he can deliver a classic Rock match at Wrestlemania as promised. He just seemed uncharacteristically nervous.
