That is the point. Low Ki doesn't compromise. He's the smark's wrestler. No gimmickry, no BS, just ass-kicking on a brutal, grand scale and a contempt for the cartoonish nature of the American industry. They had zero character development previously except for bad pre-match segments that had zero pop or humor to them (Jackass most recently). At least now, they have Nash to help guide them with regards to personality. He's doing for them what they never could. I've noticed that their acting and performances have gotten markedly better because Nash is so comfortable in those kinds of situations. Nash is definitely no Bret Hart in terms of his in-ring capabilities, but he has had character in spades since the mid 90's and for him to try to help rub it off on them can't do anything worse than what's been done. You may not enjoy the segments, and that's your preference. I think they're hilarious for the most part, so they work for me. I feel a greater wealth of goodwill toward the characters and they actually are put into something funny for once.
I disagree in the biggest way. I think the WWE's shows are horrendous by comparison as I enjoy the skits and wrestling (although reduced) of TNA better than the WWE product. PPV to PPV, I haven't paid for a WWE event in a long time and each time I skip out I understand when I download them and fully realize I would've cursed them to high heaven for f**king me with another show I think is complete $hit. WWE has a decent tag division, but they still keep procuring teams that get badly pushed, suck to begin with, and have retarted gimmicks (Highlanders, Duggan/Eugene, Cryme Tyme are some candidates for some or all of the categories). Combining them wouldn't make any more sense to me. I think the whole division needs to be re-tooled altogether. WWE is sitting on previously successful tag teams, but keep trying to push the wrestlers as singles (which hasn't worked half as good as the tag situations) with MNM, The Hardy Dorks, and WGTT.
I'll side with Abyss' workrate and Sting's experience (for however much longer he lasts) over Cena and Batista, but that's just personal preference as I'll go for aptitude in the ring and experience over two green entertainment personalities that I feel should be shuffled into a tag unit themselves or sent back to wrestling school. The WWE TV booking style is stupid as they've done away with the old (and superior) crescendo style of booking they used to do in favor of a jumbled mess that is supposed to generate more TV ratings quarter-hourly, when they should be worried about keeping an audience entertained and pushed to the limit by the end of the night. Instead, the audience is left confused and listless as the booking order is out of intelligent sequence numerous times. TNA is suffering from bad rhythm problems from a lack of TV time that doesn't help with Russo's frenetic Crash TV style. Their one night 2-hour premiere had a more relaxed and natural flow to it that they definitely need on a regular basis as Russo wasn't trying to fit ten lbs. of $hit into a five lb. sack.
