The Panthers came up short but Newton is the truth. 23-37 for 418 yards, 2 tds and one pick. He also had 8 rushes for 18 yards and a td.

Teddy Ginn takes the kickoff all the way for a TD to give the 49ers a 9 point lead again with less then 4 minutes to go.

EDIT: If Newton plays like that all season it'll be the greatest rookie season ever. But it's one week, and against a less then spectacular defense. I'm surprised he put up as much as he did and he was great, but to sustain this each and every week against NFL defenses would be nothing short of remarkable for a rookie.
