I don't. I question the "can't miss"-ness of that promo. Punk is the only thing that makes me want to even check in on the goings-on of WWE. That promo was easily the weakest of all the ones I've heard since he's gone on this run.

Red rep as I may get, that's still how I feel, regardless of whether anyone else agrees.

TNA got in the same trouble for their "biggest surprise of the year" shit. Same shit, different toilet.

Not every promo can be can't miss. The promo tonight was very good though, and developed the story damn well. Sorry Punk can't develop a can't miss promo every week, like Hulk Hogan or Ken Anderson.

I won't disagree on the main point, it wasn't a can't miss promo. But it didn't have to be, because it did it's job and did it well.

TNA using the "biggest surprise of the year" to drive people to see the show got them a shit storm of complaints because they felt the surprise didn't live up to the hype. Well, this promo was advertised as "can't miss" which to me holds a similar level of required quality that IMO it didn't match. The promo where got cut off was can't miss. This one was pretty average, especially for someone of Punk's caliber.

Seriously, the show's not over. That segment was awesome IMO, seems to be a popular opinion as well, and who knows whats going to happen to end the night.. perhaps thats what will be "can't miss".

Who said anything about every promo being can't miss? And who said anything about Hogan or Anderson cutting them? You're going off on irrelevant tangents.

All I know is I was told this was as "can't miss" promo, and IMO it wasn't. Nothing more. Of course since I'm not groveling at the "greatness" that is WWE I'm bound to make a ton of enemies as I always did in WWE LD's back when I still watched their programming, but the Punk work actually got me to watch their programming again, albeit briefly. All I'm saying is it didn't do enough (IMO) to facilitate that "change" CM Punk was touting. When the talent roster actually turns over and the talent pool he was talking about with guys like Lesner, Jericho, etc. return, I'll be steps closer to watching again.
