See the thing is, Rock hasn't taken this seriously for about a year. Cena has started to be more goofy lately but Rock has spent a year making stupid jokes and making fun of Cena's shirts. Tonight's Cena promo wasn't as good as it was last year, but like someone says it was like 2 minutes long while Rock got about 15 minutes.

As I sit here and read some of the comments on this board...I am just amazed...what the heck are some of you expecting from these guys? I mean you got two guys givin it their all to live up to the hype of this match, and all anyone can do is crap on what they do. I am a Rock guy, not Cena, but I mean come on, give credit where it is due.....my favorite excuse on here is "they didn't give Cena as much time" would you really WANT to hear a poor mans rap/bad attempt at a shoot for that long?...how much more could he really say? Rock coulda kept that gig he had going all night and the crowd woulda ate it up.

He hasnt taken it seriously? Why alter a gimmick that made you famous in the first place? The only reason Cena is going for the "shoot" is because thats whats keeping him in this.

People want Cena vs Rock and thats what theyre getting. In my opinion both have done an awesome job over the past year in creating this match. I wish Vince would listen to me and do an hour special on these two showing their history with one another. It would tie everything up perfectly.

Well I will say that Cena has indeed "owned" Rock for the past year due to Rock not being capable of seriously arguing with Cena with valid points.
However tonight was a different story, it was about just being as entertaining as hell. It's grown men talking shit about each other through musical means, I don't think it should be taken serious by either. Therefore Rock wins tonight in my opinion because he was more entertaining than Cena

KB, I'd be interested to hear your opinion on why the Rock's promos have been so lackluster. I was beginning to think that he wasn't as good as I remembered and just because I was a teen when he was popular, I liked those jokes but don't anymore. So I went back and watched some old promos...the Rock is every bit as good as I remember in those. He was the very best on the mic, always quick witted, funny, serious at times, etc.

The notes on his wrist thing is stupid...the Rock is a major actor, I'm sure he can memorize a few lines. What I mean is rather than endlessly ranting on Rock's for a year Cena made more of an impact by targeting the Rock and his " I will never leave again" a couple of of weeks back. Bit that's the past, and this is tonight.

It's a completely different world in front of a live crowd. Acting on a movie set is completely different because you can have as many takes as you want and you have no idea how the people are going to react. With WWE, you know immediately how they're reacting. The idea here is that Rock is a master on the mic and Cena is for kids. With Rock, they're trying to keep him as popular as possible so they're keeping things as simple as possible. Cena has gone after Rock's flaws which NO ONE has ever done. When do you ever remember someone calling out Rock for being stupid? A lot of the stuff Rock says makes absolutely no sense but because he's got so much charisma, he can get away with it. Cena is going past all that and getting straight at Rock and the idea is that Rock doesn't know how to handle it. As for why Rock is weaker lately, it's because he's out of practice (understandable) and they're keeping him as safe as possible. The goofier stuff Rock says (what in the world does "do you smell what I'm cooking?" even mean?) the more Cena has to make fun of. You can't make fun of saying Cleveland Rocks because Cena plays to the local crowds too.
Don't tell me that One man in the mists of 18,000+ people night in and night out can control what they ALL must chant.. thats bull shit..

You're a smart kid Z. Go back to the full context of that speech and you will realize that the "Never Leave" stuff was a comparison to his 7 solid year break. People got overly excited and reacted like it meant something else. He's back in the WWE Family again and he is not going to leave like he did before.
