WWE Night of Champions 2011 - ¡El Chocolate Sexual Para el Campeón Pesado Mundial!

I'm always one for seeing these things through, giving them the benefit of the doubt that something good is around the corner. From here, though, it seems that they've done all they can to minimize the success they found in getting Punk truly over in favor of an angle with Johnny fucking Ace and Kevin fucking Nash. I'm struggling to find some reason how anyone thought this was a good finish.

He's not dead yet, but Punk needs something in his favor to happen soon otherwise he'll be back at the end of the line again.

Mediocre show. Some good matches with some questionable finishes. Seems to be a "build up" show with angles being set up for HiaC just a few weeks away. I feel for anyone who spent money on this show.

It's fairly obvious that this is going to set up Nash vs. Punk at HiAC, and a HHH/Laurinitis storyline. Miz and R-Truth are going to be suspended, and it'll all set up some sort of match at Survivor Series.

Great match, I just disagree with Triple H going over AND the match being the main event. I'd have been fine with one or the other, but now we have the PPV end with seemingly not near as much suspence as, say, a champion winning/defending a title, or HHH being out of a job, etc.

Also, when's the last time we saw HHH in a match that didn't involve at least 3 petigrees?

I don't get the love for the match. I wanted a match based on a personal feud not a corporate angle. F U attitude era booking.

Triple H really did wonders for Punk there. He couldn't take Punk down by himself, it took all that and Punk pushed him to the limit. He looked golden and the story continues. I love the booking.

It took three Pedigrees, a Jacknife Powerbomb and 4 men to beat Punk. He looks like gold. Triple H keeps his poistion, which he needed too. Everybody wins basically.

I'll give HHH the tip of the hat that he made Punk look legit made of gold tonight, so there's that. It's not even a "Punk didn't win, boo hoo" feeling I have right now, but more just peeved that this show came off as a speed bump to the next show. Not the worst show in the world, but not the greatest I've seen either.

Meh. Time for a beer.

Except for the people who really don't care to see Nash involved in anything in 2011. Note I never said Punk was made to look like crap, but that he's been sidelined in favor of a story that's a bit bigger than he is.

Punk is the center of the story and Triple H is the only other guy involved that is at the same level in terms of importance to the story. Nash is merely a small player in the big picture.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. That's the downside to having two PPVs two weeks apart. I'm glad it'll keep building though, it'll make the matches at Hell in a Cell seem all that more important.
