What's really been irritating me recently is cutting out entrances of their big guys on Raw. Del Rio, Punk were both in the middle of their entrance when the show came back from commercial. You have 3 hours, and add pointless segments like the "Newly Tag Game", but can't show the WWE Champions full entrance? Really?

Way, way, way too many crowd shots. We know the people are there, for pete's sake, and it's fine to occasionally pan the crowd, but when they overdo the number of shots, it takes away from what we want to be watching.

When a visiting dignitary like Bret Hart makes a rare appearance, those of us watching on TV want to see Bret. I counted last time he appeared on the stage: it took him 47 seconds to walk down the aisle to the ring.....in that 47 seconds, the camera cut away from him seven times to show the crowd cheering. It's too much and it's not necessary. We rarely get to see Bret; it's him I wanted to watch, not the audience. Crowd shots are fine, but don't choke us with them.

In the same vein, I dislike WWE's policy of cutting away from the ring to show the crowd a split second after a match ends. I want to see the immediate, triumphant reaction of the winner, or the dejected reaction from the loser. Instead, we're forced to watch a 3-second shot of the crowd apparently enjoying the finish of the match, although they're sitting in their seats and not doing much more than applauding. If WWE absolutely has to give us a crowd shot at the match's conclusion, can't they wait a couple of seconds so we can celebrate with the winner first?

So many things have caused me stop watching Raw recently. The talent is awful. Punk doesnt look like a wrestler and talks like a radio host. The constant recaps take up half the show. ANd all the wrestlers talk the same. Shitty.

The talent is good talent! Wrestling wise it hasnt been so good in a long while!

Shame they got rid of steroids right? Who can we believe in now!! Punk is a wrestler... Therefore he is what a wrestler looks like. I dont look like a wrestler, nor am I a wrestler. See how this works?

Here we go, the recaps! I'm stricken by the recaps. But only barely. A glancing blow. I watch online. I dont have the willpower to stay awake untill four A.M. So I skip.

Maybe children are stupid. I was stupid back then. But nobody is watching smackdown and skipping Raw, are they? And NXT?? Maybe Its all a big ploy to sell PPVs, but they drive me mad. I appreciate when they make a nice package though. But I watch raw on tuesday, and smackdown on friday morning... Its very soon.

As for the interviewers, I'd like a little more "well there you have it folks" and a little less misguided anger from the Heels. Who cares if the commentator gets attacked. If I saw Justin Roberts out on the street, I'd give it a go too. Let them do the interveiew and leave it out. I like my wrestlers to smacktalk and wrestle, my announcers to announce, commentators to comment and managers to jump of a cliff.

Its the simple things.

Oh, and what the hell is a GM. Get off my TV simulator!!

You're just employing a technicality there. Yes, a wrestler is a wrestler and thus they look like one. CM Punk is employed by WWE as one of their performers, so technically he is a wrestler and thus looks like one. If the original comment had simply said "Punk doesn't look like what you expect in a wrestler" then you couldn't really pick it apart so easily.

It has nothing to do with steroids. Cesaro looks good. Ryder is lean. Ziggler looks great. None of them are heavy. Not everyone needs to look like Ryback. But Punk is the worst of the bunch.

I laughed my ass off when I watched a video of him, it was either some generic interview or a panel at Comic Con, and when the topic of bench pressing came up he kind of smirked and said "bench pressing is horrible for your shoulders". Finally it made sense, he's one of those wimpy guys who makes excuses for why they don't lift. By his logic, squats are bad for your legs, curls are bad for your biceps, etc. Even if you had a specific build where doing bench press hurts your shoulders, there are a dozen other movements you can replace it with. He just makes excuses to be a little chubby guy who likes to go running and claims he prefers to train with ropes and sleds and stuff like that. I wonder how many other guys in a professional wrestling locker room would agree with him. "Oh yeah bro, benching is terrible for you, screw that!". I've got no problem with Punk being one of those guys who isn't into bragging that you can press 400lbs or something, that's fine, but he just makes excuses for lifting in general.

Anyways sorry not trying to make this into a Punk thread. But just because we point out he looks like crap doesn't mean we all want the steroid days back.

i just wish they would do more longterm stuff, right now the most longterm stuff is punks title reign.
it just seems so shortsighted, you really tend to feel when its been rewritten the same day, when you could do so great things with long term booking.

by that i mean, when brodus clay started losing, it didnt feel like a character change, it felt like he had pissed someone off in the back and now he has to job.
i mean things like why didnt they make a "face and heel hating each other" tagteam out of riley and miz, they would have a great chemistry hating each other while needing each other for success.
so many more examples, like nexus (which they dont like mentioning the fact skip sheffield was a part of and could make for a great feud with barrett) and so on.

they just tend to forget backstories that people maybe remember or maybe not, but it always feels like coincidence when two guys by chance start a feud who already have some history from earlier.

The constant time killing video recaps are annoying. Yes, it is important to do recaps of the bigger happenings throughout the show, because you will have viewers just tuning in that need to be up to speed on the main plot points of that night's show. But these recaps/reminders can be done by the announcers mid-match, you don't need a whole separate segment dedicated to it as well.

Also the general formula of the show is extremely outdated and boring. For example, they pretty much always start with a wrestler coming out to the ring for a promo, this promo gets interrupted and the main event of the night is set-up. Fucking change it up every once and awhile. Have the show start with a match just getting underway, with the first shot of the show being a babyface hitting a huge suicide dive to a heel on the outside. That would be an unexpected, interesting and exciting way to start the show and would hook the audience in. Or start with a backstage segment where someone is attacked or found mysteriously taken out. Do something different with the structure of the show, keep it varied so we don't know what to expect from segment to segment, week to week.

The way they think fans are idiots and can't remember things that happened past three months ago or even a month ago. I was glad they pointed Wade Barrett's and Justin Gabriel's past together in Nexus when they wrestled a few weeks ago, but if the fans weren't chanting "We want Nexus" would they have still mentioned it? There have been times when Barrett has teamed with various ex-Nexus members in the past and the announcers never acknowledged it. It's like WWE only wants us to remember certain things. It doesn't work that way. In all the times that Kofi Kingston has wrestled Michael McGuillicutty, have they ever acknowledged that Kofi was Michael's pro on NXT? No. Was it mentioned that Alberto Del Rio was Brodus Clay's pro on NXT during their match last week? No. Sure, a lot of people didn't watch the old NXT, but still...

I'm sure that this has been brought up by someone, somewhere. But it's obvious that A LOT of threads and posts all come down to WWE being boring, Linda's campaign ruining the product and the "PG Era" sucking. With ALL the forms of social media/technology (Twitter, Facebook, Tout, etc.) do you think that if an online petition began to pick up momentum from all the FANS that WWE would actually consider listening for once? WWE constantly reminds us that there are tons of ways to stay "connected" with WWE, but do they really listen?? The ratings have been down according to stories here on Wrestlezone, so if it came down to it, WWE might consider change if the petition got enough signatures.

So do you think that an online petition showing that fans want change would be effective?

I agree with some of the things mentioned here. Another thing that annoys me is how the camera guys zoom in and out and jerk the camera around when big show knocks someone out, Sheamus kicks someone or anyone else does a high impact move or slam. You can't hardly tell what just happened because the camera is jumping all over the place. I wouldn't mind it happening once in a while maybe but they do it way too often.

I get driven insane by the stupid comedy bits like Santino and Brodus Clay. I get it you want comedy in wrestling that's fine, the Rock did great comedy parts, rapper Cena had great jabs to make you laugh, Jericho shoving a pie in Stephanie's face made me laugh, these kinds of things are great ways to do comedy in wrestling because it fits with the genera. One of the superstars wants to put down or humiliate the other and this fits.

Santino and Brodus don't fit very well at all and honestly they completely kill any kind of serious momentum the show was building. I can imagine the back state discussions when it comes to planning the show...

Writer 1--Let's have CM Punk and Heyman come out to get the crowd really pissed to start the show.
Vince--Great
Writer 2--After that lets have Santino come out and poke a guy with a sock that has eyes that's sure to keep the tone Punk set.
Vince--I can smell the ratings

And then they wonder "wtf happened" when they are pulling the lowest ratings of all time. Garbage like Brodus, Santino and Hornswaggle do no belong on WWE programming for any lengthy period of time. It might be one things to bring them out ala greesy fat guy for that specific moment that calls for it, but the degree to which they are used just completely kills any level of involvement anyone in the crowd who's past the age of 12 might of had.

And I know what I'm going to hear about Brodus "you hate his dancing gimik but liked Too Cool." Yes yes I did want to know why? Too Cool made me think of a pair of guys I might meet at a club who bust some moves and then leave with a chick on each arm. They had a natural coolness to them and it became a "I can beat you down and look awesome while I do it" situation with them. Brodus makes me think of what would happen if I guy walked into a club in a Barney outfit. People look and laugh at him right up until the bouncer tosses his ass.

It seems that practically everyone on here (me included), has opinions on both the current state of the WWE and things that are needed to improve the product (get rid of PG, push X wrestler, unify the titles, less re-caps, no gimmicky PPV's etc). But do we have a right to complain, or should we just watch the product every week and appreciate the effort put in by as the WWE superstars week in and week out? If we don't like the product should we just stop watching it?

It seems that the WWE isn't as popular as it was, so maybe a lot of of people are just turning off, rather than watching each week and then coming on here to complain, should we do the same?

Yes we do.

We're fans of the product, we pay out our money on PPVs, games, t-shirts, books, DVDs, whatever. The WWE makes a lot of sponsorship money off our interests and we're entitled to give our say on the product.

I've seen this line of defence used by a lot of entertainment companies lately, particularly the gaming industry, and it's troubling as it is a complete slap in the face of the consumer to make this case.

Of course you have the right to complain. If you're spending your money and dedicating your time to watch the show, you have every right to criticize. Sure you can quit watching the show as a dip in ratings will certainly change things more than you complaining about it on the internet, but it's still your right to complain.

However, if you're stealing PPVs and complaining about the product, you're a tool. I stream shit all the time. Sure, I make fun of it, but I don't bitch about it and demand change unless they're actually taking something from me and failing to deliver.

Any part of the show involving John Cena, why? well...

1. His promos are extremely stale at this point and have been since 2008. it's the same old crap over and over. i get it that they're trying to make him always look stronger but there could be different ways to do this instead of the same old "Childish insult, cheap pop from the crowd" mentality.

2. As many wrestling fans over the age of 16 know, he is very predictable in the ring. i get it "5 moves of doom", Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, Rock and countless others are similar but they're extremely entertaining while doing so. i cannot say the same for Cena.

A prime example of this, look at the Nexus angle with John Cena. he made fun of the entire group with childish insults, then took all of them out without even lifting a finger.

In my honest opinion, Nexus should have looked much more powerful as a group. it is very possible and has been done already (*cough* nWo *cough*)

Cena's character needs to evolve, i'm not saying a heel turn because heel turns don't fix the problem at hand. he needs to change it up a bit and maybe more people will find him entertaining, myself included.

Anything involving Hornswoggle, the Great Khali, and 90% of the stuff involving Santino. Basically all the attempts @ humor. I wish they'd 86 Khali and Swoggle immediately. I was really hoping the brain tumor would be the end of Khali's WWE career as he is so terrible.

I also hate how they have all these hot Divas running around (Layla, Eve, Kaitlyn, AJ, Aksana), yet because of the PG atmosphere there are no more bra/panties matches or lingerie pillow fights or anything like that. There's barely any sexuality of any kind.

For example, on Raw this week, I saw two instances where a little skin would have been perfect. #1) AJ flips out after resigning as GM and rips off her little dress shirt/tie to attack Ugly Vickie in nothing but a bra? #2) When Eve/Layla/Kaitlyn got into it in the back, they all had great cleavage rocking. Why not have some ripped shirts or whatever instead of bags of potato chips flying?

And yes, I hate Cena's cheesy ass promos as well. I'll give the man credit when he talks like a tough guy and from the heart, he really delivers excellent promos. But when he talks about poop and nipples and farts and junior high school stuff he's awful.

Punk doesnt look like a wrestler...

Funny you say that since there's a sure fired hall of famer who, back in WCW, was criticized for not looking like a wrestler and now he's considered a God of sorts...

mickfoley01.jpg

Punk looks a lot more believable as a pro-wrestler than Mick Foley, and the only reason Foley is accepted is because he came from the disaster pit known as ECW and managed to buddy up with The Rock during the Attitude Era. Oh and the part where he threw himself off of Cell structures... but never has anyone ever said that Foley looks like a wrestler. Wrestlers, like everything in life, come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. You're not going to find two wrestlers that look exactly alike.

As for my WWE Pet Peeve, I would have to say that it's the sudden anti-New Face people that come out of the wood works. It's happened to everybody that's come in the WWE since 2002. From Cena to CM Punk, people in the "IWC" have pandered at how they wanted someone to become champion or get a push... WWE gives them the push, and then all of a sudden there's instant backlash.

Let me clear something up right now. I don't care about people having dislike for certain people... my anger stems from you not saying shit until they get popular. For years, people on the forums were pandering to HoMo and claiming he was "the next HBK". I never once gave him those claims, and I gave off my dislike towards him since day one. I didn't like MNM because Nitro and Melina were terrible. I didn't like Nitro on Raw as IC Champion... I didn't like Morrison as ECW champion. The only time he was relevant to me was when he teamed with the Miz. But that's just it, I didn't wait until a huge band wagon came up and then started disliking him. I knew I didn't like him, so I spoke up. People nowadays will be the same ones saying "Ryback deserves a WWE title shot" or "Randy Orton is the best in WWE" and as soon as WWE pulls the trigger and sends them to the main event people say something like "Randy Orton's title reign is stale" or "Ryback isn't ready to take the WWE title just yet".

It's a stupid concept that people will unfortunately continue to do, because of pure jealousy... but it still bothers the hell out of me. The biggest problem comes from the Anti-Cena fans. They were ALL for Cena when he was the "Doctor of Thuganomics" but when he became the cash cow, people turned on him so quick and so fast that it disgusted me for years.

those little did you know segments are a bit annoying its like wwe trying to convince us there still cool its a bit cringworthy same goes for them constantly letting us know whats trending on twitter i dont dislike cena but i do hate the way he sucks up to the crowd when he gets booed though

Uh...They did that because WWE changed one thing about Cena that people liked ........his character. "Doctor of Thugonomics" gimmick was what made Cena entertaining not the boring, childish, corny superhero that Cena is nowadays.

Constant "social media" plugs, "funny" gimmicks & illogical and inconsistent storylines ( aka NO ONE CAN STOP THE BIG SHOW!!!!!! as he's coming off a loss). The thing that confuses me most is why WWE isn't in panic mode and throwing everything but the kitchen sink at us to destroy the ratings like they did in the 90s when WCW was kicking their ass.

The main thing that annoys me and it really shouldn't is the "Did You Know" spots that WWE airs. The one thing we all know is that WWE does an amazing job sucking itself off. I'd like for the "DYK?" spots to involve the wrestlers more...

DYK?: Dolph Ziggler was a golf caddy and cheerleader before in WWE?

DYK?: Sin Cara was the most famous Mexican wrestler for 'X' amount of years before debuting in WWE?

DYK?: Brodus Clay was a NXT runner-up? While the winner (Johnny Curtis?-I think) has not made an impact?

I know they can't won't go this route but I really don't care how many times the WWE App has been downloaded or the "Superstars" was the most watched television sports program in its timeslot or that WWE DVDs are the top selling Sports Entertainment DVD releases of all time....(cuz who the eff else is releasing wrestling DVDs nationally on a bi-weekly basis?)

What I can't stand is the constant recaps and video packages. I was at a Raw earlier this year, and I swear for half the show all we did was sit there watching the stupid videos on the titan tron. :(

Also, when everyone is having some secret thing going on backstage like no one else can see them. You're on friggin' camera. The other wrestlers can see you. It's not a secret. If you're going to have a secret discussion or whatever, at least do like TNA does and kick the camera man out of the room so it seems legit and all. :)

And I also really hate how WWE keeps bringing up the fact that they're the "longest running episodic TV show" or whatever. Seriously, if they took a season off like every TV show, they would not be the longest running show at all. So it's not that impressive to me since they don't take a season off like other shows.

Oh and the twitter and tout crap. I seriously could care less what is "trending" or what some ******ed fan has to say in a stupid video.

Well I'll gues that this thread was about the little things that kind of annoy you but would make you want to turn off the TV.

In that case I would add the way when wrestlers interfere in a match, their theme song gets played, especially with the Big Show. I dont remember if its always happened but its only been brought to my attention recently. I mean, I dont mind interferences but its just the way the theme songs are played before them. It must mean whoever is interfering must go up to the sound team like "Yea go ahead and hit my music" before they come storming out all angry or whatever. And the sound team just do it? I dunno, just seems odd to me lol.

reading about the HORRIBLE cameracuts during finishers, i have to agree.
the worst to me is when they do it during the GTS, they always cut JUST as it connects, making it look disjointed and fake. the one time they forgot to cut, it instantly looked that much better on TV...

as a whole, i can also mention that i hate how wwe has too many dominant faces and cowardly heels, its just ridiculous.

side note: whats up with people writing "of" instead of "have"? i started stumbling across this way more frequently lately on here.

Because there is no WCW competing with them right now. To me, the worst thing that happened to the WWE was WCW going down.

If TNA was a viable competitor, then I think the WWE would be doing that again. But when your biggest competitor really isn't a competitor at all, then it's tough to do that.
