Raw LD 7/20 - So an old enters a bar.....

But not nearly as much as the supply of Cena. They purposely make the most kids T shirts for Cena so that they can say hes the biggest merch seller. Then they make limited supplies for everybody else

I'm confused. I would think WWE would want to make as much money as possible on merchandise. Why do you suppose they purposely sacrifice extra money just so they can say Cena is the biggest seller?

Well I didn't go behind the counter and count them if that's what you mean. But there were just as many Daniel Bryan fans as there were Cena fans under 4' tall, wearing shirts.

This is the fucking WWE we're talking about.. they killed Zack Ryder's momentum who was massively over.. they tried shoving Alberto Del Rio down our throats despite coming out to crickets every fucking night.. they didn't want to push Bryan (even though he was so fucking over) until the fans basically forced them. This is the WWE.. a billion dollar corporation, you think they care about money? Vince and his weird antics would rather push who he wants. He's out of touch. Seriously, why ban the word "backbreaker"? Why erase the 1st names of Cesaro, Neville, Rusev, etc?

These are just weird things from Vince. stop pretending that WWE actually has logic, they don't and its all Vince's fault... intentional sabotage is a thing in WWE

The logic of a typical smark. Not taking into consideration that the guy that caters more towards children than to young adults in comparison to Bryan or the Usos [who are a tag team and not former world champs] would have more merchandise options aimed towards them.

Come on you guys. Arguing about shirts? Of course there is an agenda to sell more Cena merchandise. It is obvious the E's entire business model is to sacrifice financial gain to irritate some smarks.

Will you listen to yourself. There is a great match on TV and you're worried about ancient history and everything other than what's going on.

Not really no.

One shirt. Out of dozens of different types of merchandise Cena sells. Seems like we went down this path with Punk years ago.

Yeah and the thing is other than shirts what other merch is commonly sold at events? Shirts are going to be commonly sold because they are the thing that there are the most of. Punk was generating a head of steam with merch sales and then with The Rock wanting to win the title off of a heel that cut his merch sales.

How has Owens other merchandise been selling besides his shirts? Are KO backpacks and shoes flying off the shelves as well as Cena's?

Owens hasn't been there long enough to have more than a few shirts, they don't want NXT people to really have more than that

That also has to do with staying power. Christian had his stuff pulled because he lacked consistency.

This was 2005 I think so prior to him leaving for TNA. I just used that as an example as I can't remember the other ones off the top of my head, but when the choice is 90% of one person and the people want to buy some merch for remembering being at the event then the other 10% get sold out and noone else gets the opportunity to buy said merch at the event.

:lmao: no, it's not. You are not factoring in staying power. Kevin Owens gained a brief spike in popularity that caused one item of his to draw more than Cena's. Asking WWE to pull their one proven constantly marketable star from his position IS self sabotage.

No I am not thinking pull them long term, but a short term loss for a long term gain sounds far more reasonable than short term gain for long term loss. Cena is at a point where he can take a lost feud. Even during his "worst year ever" he won the majority of his feuds if not all of them I would need to check the stats on that.

Cena is in the Hulk Hogan in the early 90s sort of position, how did that work out for the WWE then?

I can't help but wonder how WWE got to be a billion dollar corporation if they don't care about making money.
