It depends on how much stock you place in modern sports entertainment. I wonder how much staying power sports entertainment actually has. Will it still be around another 50 years from now? Pro wrestling was around for decades. So I don't blame Jim for wanting to cling to those ideals. They worked. And they would probably still work even if sports entertainment disappeared.

I'd agree with you if his last foray into running a professional wrestling promotion was a success. It wasn't. His ideas failed with hardcore wrestling fans, which is what his vision of the product is aimed squarely at.
