*NO SPOILERS* The WWE Royal Rumble LD, All Read First Post

Booker T looked phenomenal in the match tonight. I wouldn't hate it if he came back to WWETV for a little while.

I honestly thought that Santino was going to win. I was ready to mark out harder than I ever have in my life. Still sick Del Rio won.

Pissed I didn't get tickets, I live an hour from Boston.

I live IN Boston... I'm so mad I didn't get tickets, but hey... still a very enjoyable show.

This x1000. We've seen some cool "skin the cat" moments and some inventive stuff from guys like Rey and Kofi, but that was the all time greatest Rumble near elimination. The whole time until he got back in the ring I thought he would slip at some point

Mmmmmmmmm, I'm not so sure about the greatest ever yet. Maybe in a couple of years, once it has sunk in it will be, but right now I am putting it number 2 behind 1995 and HBK's "Only one of Shawn Michaels' feet hit the floor" just because of how iconic that moment is with him being the first to go coast to coast in the rumble, and how he got it done.

I still don't get why Punk would care for that match when he has no title shot and there is an Elimination Chamber in between. Would he have to help Miz in the Chamber aswell if he won the Rumble?
yeah, the whole Orton costing Miz the belt in 08 thing takes precedence. Punk got retrubution for that, and now Orton will beat the shit out of Punk, then they have the Mania match.

Niño Vega;2795456 said:
No, because Punk has no business in that match whatsoever and a perfectly fine fued with Cena he'd obviously care more for. If it was Cena in the title match it would've made sense. And that match hasn't been done as well, at least not with a clean finish or on a bigger stage.
again, Punk was stripped of the title thanks to Orton. Punk exacted revenge.

You really think so? Okay, let's say, if Miz is really able to win I'll change my sig to "I'm an idiot." for a month. But this is the match I have no real problem with, I just think Cena could have better suited opponents in Punk or Taker for example and Miz in Morrison or even Bryan.
You fail miserably. Why are you relagating The Miz (arguably RAWs hottest heel) to the midcard? Miz/Morrison doesn't help either one, neither does Miz/Bryan. Cena/Punk or Cena/Taker doesn't help anyone either. Miz needed a major Main Event match to solidify himself as a Main Event player. He got it, deservingly so, and Cena's the only guy who can give it to him.

I reffered to the suggested Edge - del Rio match. I can't see how they'd fit at all, just like Kane - Edge. Del Rio - Mysterio on the other hand would make a really great matchup, I totally agree. They've proven they've great chemistry.
And I completely disagree, and think Edge/ADR could be good. Del Rio seems to be pretty versatile, and can work with anyone, and Edge will be fine. Plus as I said that's far from set in stone.

I just think with the current superstars you could make up a much more intruiging card and I don't see any match which screams "Headliner".
These are the 3 best options with the guys available. BY FAR. You officially make Miz and ADR big time players, while giving the fans fresh quality matchups. This Mania card is stacking up to be fucking OUTSTANDING.

With the way New Nexus and and the Corre have been must see tv and this phenomenal Royal Rumble ppv and especially the RR match itself, WWE is off to a hot start in 2011. Let's keep the ball rolling!

I learned that expecting too much just kills the enjoyment (like KB ocassionally says). If you didn't hope for Triple H, Christian or even Jericho and didn't get Nash and Booker spoiled, this was even greater.

I feel your pain. I had money and everything to go, but had no one to go with. All my family and friends either had no money or had to work. Yet they all conveniently show up when I order the PPV. But yes still an enjoyable show to say the least.

I gotta admit, I marked out bigger than I had in a long time when Booker T came out.

And I cussed out loud when he was eliminated. I didn't want him to win it but I wanted him to last longer than he did.

Jesus, am I the only person who actually really liked the Hornswoggle stuff? I thought it was really funny and good.

And the Horny AA to Kidd is pretty impressive.

That was my first Rumble and I was deep into it from start to finish. I have a headache from all the screaming I did, it was amazing.

In short, no it wasn't Jericho or Christian or HHH but it was still a recent world champion that holds Rumble records and was a legit threat to win or at least do a lot of damage. It's not like JTG was out last.

Question... seeing as Cena was eliminated by someone NOT in the rumble, doesn't that make it void? I don't think the winner is set in stone yet...

This was one of the three major things that keeps this Rumble match from being in the Top 3 for me.

Perhaps they've changed the rule and not told me, but a guy who is not and has never been in the match cannot eliminate one who is. That's just stupid, and for the referees to act like they don't have a choice but to tell Cena he has to leave is just so stupid. I get their setting up a Cena vs. Miz thing, but still. That's a hard pill of non-logic to swallow. If Miz had distracted Cena, or even had interfered while another wrestling in the match got rid of him, then I'd be okay with it. But that is just stupid.

The second problem I had with the WWE's logic is Alberto Del Rio. Again, perhaps they've changed the rule and not told me, but it used to be if you hadn't entered the ring by the time the countdown for the next wrestler ended, you were eliminated from the match. Del Rio had not entered the ring when Orton came out, and so, according to the rules the Rumble used to have (and I'm guess still do, but were just ignored), Del Rio should have been eliminated.

The last problem I have is how they blew the great Nexus storyline with Booker T. The crowd was ready for a mega-pop for a wrestler who could go in and take down the Nexus after they had been gang-eliminating everyone...and then Booker T comes out, and the crowd blows its load. So when the first BIG name came down (Cena), the crowd was excited, but no where near what they should have been. It could have been Cena or Orton or even Big Show (if he's still a face), but it should have been a mega-face who came down to wreak havoc on Nexus for the major pop. Instead, it was the 45 year old Booker T, who hasn't been seen on WWE television in three or more years, who got the mega-eruption just to get eliminated inside of 90 seconds.

The first two are the biggest problems, and the last one I just think was a poor booking decision. It was a good Rumble, but it should have been better.

I remember this happening before but I don't think it was ever listed as official.

I really enjoyed this years Royal Rumble. It was a lot of fun to watch.

Santino at the end and Jmo somehow jumping back into the ring steps were my favorite parts like most.

Royal Rumble 1991

The spot that wound up being Macho Man's was never entered, and Gorilla Monsoon announced that he had missed his chance, and he was out. Macho, of course, was presumably ran out of the building by Warrior.
