My thoughts on the Summerslam finish
Cena losing on a botched pin by HHH - Think about this... in the lead-in to this match, Punk had asserted that HHH and Cena were working together to screw Punk out of the title. Inserting Stephanie into the mix at the PPV made things a bit more interesting, especially when she was shown exiting Cena's locker room after earlier being insulted by Punk. Now, Punk wins on a "mistake" by HHH, which keeps Cena as a face and gives Punk reason to gloat, before...
Nash run-in to jacknife C.M. Punk - Anyone who follows backstage knows that Nash was brought in under a Legends contract. Yes, he appeared at the Rumble... briefly. Since then, he's been in a backstage role (I believe he was down with X-Pac scouting talent in FCW for a while). I figured he'd be brought back soon to do something on camera. Yes, HHH and Nash are boys from back in the Cliq days, so the initial thought is that HHH brought him in to rough up Punk in the case that he won the match, but notice that Nash left the ring after HHH ran back toward it. Interesting. Then...
Alberto Del Rio cashes in MITB to become new WWE Champion - Ok, who didn't see this coming? I haven't seen anyone mention that ever since ADR won the MITB, he's tried to cash in a few times and got beat down before he could officially cash in. Maybe he was just being opportunistic and picking the bones from Nash's attack, ordered by HHH. Or, maybe ADR comes out on Raw tonight and says that he got tired of not being able to cash in MITB, so he hired Nash as an "insurance policy" to make sure he didn't get screwed out of his chance. Maybe I'm looking into it too much, but it's an avenue they may take.
My point is that there's no point in having ADR run in, get the belt and then pull him and the title out of the top storyline of the show altogether. The Punk/Cena/HHH story is not going to play second fiddle to ADR as champion, and vice versa. The belt's gotta be involved in the driving storyline of the show or, IMO, it cheapens the belt at ADR's title reign. I know there have been main storylines that didn't involve the championship, but they're rare.
And as far as Nash being revealed at the Anonymous GM... I like the idea.
