WWE Survivor Series 2011 *General Discussion* - KEEP IT ALL IN HERE!

I have this premonition. Cena turns heel the 10%ers love it. Then Cena gets at least two title runs then as predictable as they are the 10% of the IWC turn on him and start saying how stale his character is or how he still can't wrestle and he only has the strap because of politics. Hmm where have I seen and heard this before. HHH

I don't know why everyone expects WWE to turn Cena heel. Think back to the 1980s and the similar scenario with Hogan (Cena) and Savage. Who turned heel? Not Hogan...Savage did. I'm not saying The Rock plays the role of Savage, but McMahon rode the Hogan momentum train until he went to WCW and then the guy with the balls to turn Hogan was Bischoff...not McMahon. And it almost cost Vince his company...it is the perfect time and the perfect scenario, but I don't think McMahon will ever pull the trigger on it.

The merchandise/kiddie excuse is sooo lame, short-sighted and short-term thinking. Heels don't sell merchandise? The nWo was over as hell with the kids. Whatever they might lose in the short term would be made up for in the long run, like ratings, attendance, buyrates and overall interest in the product. You fans are acting like financial advisers; they ain't going bankrupt if/when their top guy turns heel. Hopefully he turns back into the ghetto word life heel.

I'd like to change gears here a little bit. I think it would be cool for the WWE to structure this year's Survivor Series like the 1990 Survivor Series. Remember that one? There were four elimination tag matches, and the survivors from each match formed two teams for a finale elimination match. That format hasn't been used in so long that it would now be fresh and unique. What do you think? Bottom line, this year's Series couldn't possibly be worse than last year's.

So the teams are becoming more clearer now.

conspiracy team:
Kevin Nash
The Miz
R-Truth
Alberto del Rio <-- there is no contender for the WWE title at survivor series. I was waiting for the gong of the Undertaker last night but it didn't happen. So at the current RAW roster, there is absolutely no contender so Del Rio is included here. Afterall, his first title is earned with the help of Nash.

wwe team:
Triple H
CM Punk
John Cena <-- since awesome truth caused him the title
The Rock <-- he said that he will team up with Cena at survivor series

I guess we'll know the remaining participants in the upcoming weeks.

Was thinking about this earlier, and the only teams I could come up with was those 2. I thought it was going to be a return to 5 on 5, so perhaps add Foley to Team HHH? Not sure who to add to the other side. Adding Henry would be stupid as he has no current heat with anyone on the other team unless they put Orton in there as well.

ARE YOU F'N KIDDING ME???? They're gonna waste The Rock in a basic tag match against MIZ AND TRUTH???? WWE has got to be out of their minds! What a waste.

What would you perfer? Have The Rock share ring time with 9 other guys in a traditional Suvivor Series match? This makes perfect sense. Right now, Triple H is out, Punk is occupied with Del Rio and Ryder got attacked, who's left? The Rock is a perfect solution. Besides, the match isn't even official. More can always be added to the match if needed. Raw always leaves us with unanswered questions and answers that leave you scratching your head so you'll watch next week. Watch Raw next week to see how this plays out.

WHAT THE FRENCH TOAST! Dont get me wrong im glad the Rock is back but like b_radici said above WTF are they wasting him in a regular tag match. WTF happened to 5 on 5 traditional SS match. I have been looking forward to this since SummerSlam when they were planning for it. Now I know it's 3 weeks before the show and things can change or be added but again i must say WTF happened to 5 on 5!!?! And also Punk vs Del Rio, I thought that was suppose to be saved for TLC....IM PISSED!!!

Dissapointing main event for Survivor Series ... a basic tag team match just feels underwhelimig especailly that the PPV is Survivor Series. I do hope this changes soon though and make it and change it to a 5 on 5 match.

If not than this decision makes little sense since they could easily add 6 more guys who can concievably fit in the feud.

For the Faces you got Triple H, Airboom, Mason Ryan, Zack Ryder, John Morrison, and possibly a legend like Foley. For Heels you have Ziggler, Swagger, Kevin Nash, Wade Barrett, David Otunga.

Gross. Talk about underwhelming...

The Rock and John Cena teaming together builds for their match at Wrestlemania. Two guys who have had their fair share of being on top in their career in a match together at Survivor Series; this match will sell. I can't imagine how the WWE can cram midcard guys like Wade Barrett (a guy who has little to no momentum), David Otunga (who can't stay relevant to save his life), Ziggler, Morrsion and AirBoom (who have nothing to do with this feud) in a match with two of the biggest wrestling stars of the last decade? I don't see a problem here; adding 6 more guys to this match woud mean less time for me to enjoy seeing The Rock wrestle for the first time in years. The less, the better.

I think the WWE is trying to tell us something; stop reading dirt sheets. People expected a 5 on 5 here, yet the WWE never mentioned a traditional 5 on 5 Survivor Series match-up featuring these two guys. I'm not saying things won't change, but it's perfectly ok if they don't.

It doesn't have to do with dirtsheets so much rather than a certain expectation leading to the PPV. The Rock was already advertised to be in action before Cena called out The Rock to be his partner. Putting two and two together and the next PPV being Survivor Series there is a lot of expecation that the WWE could be featuing a big time Survivor Series Match especially with all this faction warfare in the WWE recently.

It's almost like having a Royal Rumble PPV but instead of a Royal Rumble the WWE decides to have a Over the Top Rope Battle Royale Instead. Ok not that extreme but theres a comparission there.

Plus what's good about Survivor Series Matches is that it gives midcards opporunity to work with venterans and main event players. Yeah some of the guys I have mentioned are not the highlight of the shows but it would have been nice to see what the midcarder or "fillers" can do.

What I was expecting, along with probably 75% of the community was since WWE jumped the gun and announced that the Rock was teaming with Cena before tonight, that we would get a traditional SS match. Then when Ace said his match was at SS with a partner of his choosing, that took out any type of excitement of them two teaming together. I think Cena/Rock/Punk/HHH .vs. Nash/Miz/Truth/DelRio would have made for a MUCH better main event, and could have potentially setup a better doublecross situation leading to WM. Seems like the last thing we expect WWE to do, they end up doing.
Also, where did my original comment disappear to? Seems it has been deleted?

Pretty terrible idea. Standard tag team match? This is the survivor series damn it. With the tag team match looking like its going to happen and HHH and Nash breaking off into a one one one feud and Del Rio possibly defending against Punk, it seems WWE are not going with a big survivor series tag at the 25th show! I bought 3 tix to the show but am thinking about selling them. Pretty disappointed. They had such a perfect set up going for a legit elimination match. Boring. Just my opinion but regardless of it being the Rock, regular tag team matches at an event like survivor series bores me.

Stop right there. WWE.com ANNOUNCED he would return in a traditional 5 on 5 Survivor Series match. It was on their official website!!! So don't hate on the board members or the dirt sheets for this one. You are wrong son....

Seems like WWE have moved the goal posts so can't blame the fans for moaning. Although there needs to be patience, it could well turn into a 5 on 5 match and heres hoping it does. Rock/Cena vs Miz/Truth is something you would expect to see on Raw a week before Wrestlemania.

This link was from WWE.com, confirming a 5 on 5 Traditional Elimination Tag Team Match at Survivor Series.

I think WWE is trying to tell us that they're reneging, lol. Seriously, I think it'll be a huge disappointment if they don't go with what they originally advertised but hopefully that doesn't happen. I was really looking forward to a possible team up of Rock/Cena/HHH/Punk (I would've been happy enough with just Rock/Cena/HHH) but it's safe to say it won't happen, at least not with CM Punk anyways. HHH and Nash could still be involved though, I just hope that HHH isn't written off TV since I expected him to show up at SS (I'll be attending).

EDIT: DAMN!! rge2010 beat me to it, lol!

Well there you have it then. That just proves my point that people should wait to draw conclusions so quickly. Like I said earlier, Raw leaves us with unanswered questions and answers that leaves us scratching our heads so we'll tune in next week. If WWE.com confirmed it, and the story hasn't been taken down, it's more than likely true. Just give it a few before everyone jumps down the WWE's throat.

What they did makes perfect sense. The focus needs to be on Rock and Cena. Having guys like Punk and Triple H involved in the same match will just make it a clusterfuck. And take some attention away from Rock and Cena.

I think the SS card will look something like this.

Cena/Rock vs Miz/R-Truth
Triple H vs Kevin Nash
Team Orton (orton, sheamus, ryder and others) vs Team Rhodes (made up Cody,Christian & Vickie stable)-traditional SS match
Punk vs Del Rio for WWE championship
Mark Henry vs Big Show for world championship

XXJJ I really hope that isn't the card but you could be pretty much spot on with that although it is rumoured a scramble match will take place for the WHW Title.

Mark Henry (c) vs Big Show vs Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes vs Sheamus vs Christian.

That would make sense as they are doing programmes with each other at the moment.

As for the main event, if it is turned into a 5 on 5 then I see Rock and Cena joined by Triple H, Mick Foley and possibly Zack Ryder. Miz and Truth will probably be joined by Kevin Nash and a long shot could be David Otunga as he has been up Jonny Aces's ass the last few weeks. Not sure on the other member, maybe Jonny Ace himself although unlikely. Maybe Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger could be better alternatives.

To make up the numbers, I would like to see a Raw vs Smackdown match aswell.

Air Boom, Alex Riley, Mason Ryan, Santino vs Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel, Sin Cara, Zeke Jackson, Ted Dibiase.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Smackdown Scramble Match but not for Survivor Series. I'd prefer them have something innovative like a Tables Scramble Match at TLC.

Anyway heres my Survivor Series Card:

1. Traditional Survivor Series 5-on-5 Tag Team Match - Team Triple H: Triple H, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Mason Ryan and Zack Ryder vs Team Kevin Nash: Kevin Nash, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, David Otunga? and ? (maybe Drew McIntrye)?

2. Divas Championship - Fatal-4-Way Match - Beth Phoenix (c) vs Eve vs Kelly Kelly vs Natalya

3. World Heavyweight Championship - 6-Man Scramble Match - Mark Henry (c) vs Big Show vs Sheamus vs Christian vs Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes

4. WWE Championship - Alberto Del Rio (c) vs CM Punk

5. Tag Team Match - The Rock and John Cena vs The Miz and R-Truth

Not sure if there should be another undercard match, especially from Smackdown considering they only have 1 match on the card. Perhaps Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett or Sin Cara vs Sin Cara. Or even those 2 feuds bump into the Tag Team Match and Ryder, Ryan, Otunga and McIntyre fall out.

Last night on RAW, we were thrown two curveballs.

The first, being that we kicked off the show with Kevin Nash blatantly attacking Triple H and taking him out. After the latter's firing of the former, this would insinuate that this feud is now personal between them. Not to mention, Punk is involved with the program with ADR for the title at the event now.

The second concerns The Rock. For about a month now, we were led to believe that Dwayne would be involved in the 5 on 5 match, which last night, the company revealed not to be true. Instead, it is a standard tag match between The Awesome Truth and Rock/Cena.

I have been worried that the WWE would drop the bomb on the conspiracy angle for a long time. It has (or at least, had) an incredible amount of buzz around it, and I was anxiously awaiting the Survivor Series PPV (so much so that I bought tickets, not just to see The Rock return, but to see what I hoped would be an epic end to a huge angle). With the revelation of it being a standard tag match that The Rock is involved in, alongside insinuating that Nash/HHH will be a singles match (again, just insinuating), it would appear the original plans for this to be a company-at-hands 5 on 5 is no longer in the books.

Now given, we still have three episodes of RAW left for this to change. The storylines could all merge together, which has happened before. But as of now, it would almost appear that while the conspiracy has not been ignored, it has been pushed to the back-burner. Yes, it is true that they were questioning how Nash got into the building, and it looked like Johnny Ace was trying to play the don't blame me card. Yes, I do believe McMahon gets involved somehow once again. But I have a few questions:

Will we see the conspiracy be addressed in a 5 on 5 match at Survivor Series?

If not in a 5 on 5, will it be addressed through one or more of the other individual matches?

Will the conspiracy even be addressed/solved at Survivor Series after all of this build-up, or has it now become about personal feuds?

Feel free to answer whichever ones you choose. I personally believe (and hope relentlessly) that this all gets tied together. They have to explain Miz/Truth attacking Cena. They have to bring it all together. I hope this once again becomes about who's in charge, and not just a PPV about revenge.

So as we know, last night it was all but announced officially that John Cena will team up with his WrestleMania opponent, The Great One, The Rock to take on The AwesomeTruth (Miz and R-Truth) at Survivor Series. Now, this had a lot of people talking as we had all expected to see the two Mania opponents team up in a traditional 5 on 5 Survivor Series match but that looks like its not happening. So here I have conjured up 3 different possible 5 on 5 matches that can still take place:

Team HHH (Triple H, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Airboom) vs. Team Nash (Kevin Nash, Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger)

We have seen HHH and Nash collide now since Vengeance when Nash brutally attacked Triple H and laid him out with a somewhat dodgy Jackknife Powerbomb. However, we all know HHH will pick himself back up and challenge Nash. Why not have them both bring guys to also clash with them?

Team Rhodes (Cody Rhodes, Christian, Wade Barrett, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler) vs. Team Booker (Booker T, Sheamus, Sin Cara, Zack Ryder, Daniel Bryan)

Rumour has it WWE are looking to have Booker T feud with Cody Rhodes. Booker T is a former tag team champion with Cody Rhodes brother, Goldust so the rivalry in some sense works. Over the past few months we've seen these heels all together so its like a stable with Vickie overseeing things whilst Booker T chooses his ' Fave Five! '. Can you dig that?

Team SD (Wade Barrett, Ted DiBiase, Daniel Bryan, Sin Cara Azul, Brodus Clay) vs. Team Raw (John Morrison, Mason Ryan, Alex Riley, Drew McIntyre, Santino Marella)

This just allows superstars who don't usually get exposure time in the spotlight all for simple reasons, Brand bragging rights. WWE used to use this every year at Survivor Series until they lost their minds and decided to bring in Bragging Rights the PPV. Now that's gone could this be a new way of having yearly battles for brand exposure?

I like your second option as it play into Booker's "Fave 5" praises. I think this is also the best way to feature some midcard talent without involving any main event guys.

Although you would still need a match to feature Randy Orton. HHH v. K. Nash can be a one on one street fight thing. Henry/Big Show is basically a lock.

Maybe remove Sheamus and add Mason Ryan and have Orton/Sheamus in a face vs. face match for the number one contender?

There should be a couple of Elimination style matches, and I could see a RAW one and a Smackdown one. I am still hoping for the conspiracy angle to play out as well, but it does seem like that's being pushed aside. Wonder if there might be a divas elimination match just to thrown them on the card as well.

Why not have zack ryder finally win a belt at survivor series. They clearly have been giving him some form of a push and he is over with the crowd. This paper view would be perfect to have him win the united states title because it is in Madison Square Garden. No it is not on Long island but there will be alot of Long islanders at the event so he will be very very over (he would most likely be over anyway). i hope this is what they do because i feel like in his push he is at the point where he is either going win a title or get more of a push or fall back to basically nothing in the very soon future

My Match Card for SS:

Rock/Cena vs Awesome truth: not really looking forward to this for one reason: Do we REALLY think Rock will lose to Miz and truth? (Nevermind Cena)

HHH vs Nash Street Fight (I say this cause i dont see Nash "Wrestling" and if Punk isnt involved i dont see a point in a team battle. Punk of all people should want Nash)

Air boom vs Usos vs Swagger and Ziggler vs Curt Hawk and Tyler (Fatal 4 way tag team match for the titles)

Its a good change of pace and 8 guys will have some exposure, its also a good way to help Hawk and Tyler get over with some already well made guys.

[If that tag match dont happen then this should]

SS tag match

Team Air boom: Air boom, Sin Cara (blue), and Usos vs Team Vickie: Zig, Jack, Curt, Tyler, and JTG (I know...I know)

SS tag match

Team Rhodes vs Team Ted

Rhodes, Wade, drew, Brodus Clay, and Tyson vs Ted, Yoshi, Ryder, Mason Ryan, and MY MAN D.BRY...TONIGHT!

this match will help get many guys over and some TV time as well to help them in the long run. this exposure can make or break them. all faces were not use to seeing day to day on this card...it will be something NEW something we need

Divas Fatal Four Way

Nat vs Beth vs Eve vs Kelly

These are the only four who are getting noticed so why not?

WHC

Mark vs Show vs Shamus vs Orton vs Christian and if possible vs a returned Kane

Mark vs Show one on one AGAIN wont be has fun (They did awesome at Vengeance though!!!) a 6 pack match for the WHC would be awesome. the build and all

WWE title:

Punk vs Del Rio (and since its MY card im going to make this a bit more interesting) Super Lumberjack Match

Cena, HHH, Christian, Rhodes, Orton, (All the big heels and faces outside the ring) Survivor series is about alliances right? and when things seem like its over for Punk. [Shatter glass] Stone Cold stuns the crap out of people and Punk gets the win...face off between the two teasing their Twitter battle

so it wont let me edit my post. i read it over and JTG is NOT SUPPOSE TO BE THERE! Sin Cara [Black] is suppose to be in his place (Air boom vs team Vickie)
