actually, the 8 man was hyped for weeks (at least the Show/Kane vs. Corre part). DBD/Sheamus was a throwaway. Now add into the fact that either guy losing in 4 minutes (That was all they'd get) would kill them MUCH more then not appearing on the show would, and it makes sense to cut it.

And yes, more people were excited about The Corre finally getting the shit kicked out of them by Show in a match.

I don't care if Corre vs. Faces was announced for weeks earlier while Sheamus vs. DBD was announced like, two weeks before the event, at one point it stops being about building the events and giving the their money's worth, and DBD vs. Sheamus would be a money match.

Again, match "quality" isn't as important. more people cared about Faces/Corre, and DB/Sheamus in 4 minutes would have sucked ass for the loser. If Sheamus loses, then he got embarrassed at Mania. If Bryan loses, he loses whatever credibility he's got left. Not appearing saves the loser a bit of face.

Plus, they could really run with the whole getting cut from the card, and Danny Bry could turn heel, or Sheamus can get angry over the fact on-air.

Look, I liked Wrestlemania and all, but many fans, especially some of the smarkier fans, did not. You NEED to give those fans their money's worth because, while they will almost certainly still buy Wrestlemania 28, they might be less inclined to buy some of the lesser PPVs. A quality match between Daniel Bryan and Sheamus would be better for the PPV than a shitty squash that people cared about going in.
