actually, the 8 man was hyped for weeks (at least the Show/Kane vs. Corre part). DBD/Sheamus was a throwaway. Now add into the fact that either guy losing in 4 minutes (That was all they'd get) would kill them MUCH more then not appearing on the show would, and it makes sense to cut it.
And yes, more people were excited about The Corre finally getting the shit kicked out of them by Show in a match.
Drew Carey seems like a cool guy. He's funny on stand-up, The Drew Carey Show was a riot, Whose Line is it Anyway? is the fucking BOMB, and he's damn good on The Price is Right. He's no Bob Barker, but he still reminds us to cut off dog balls.

They likely got money to air his induction while promoting Carey's new show (which is improv, and hopefully will be just as good as Whose Line Is It Anyway).
It's financial. Sunny isn't known by most of the casual fans, Drew Carey is known by more people, and they make more money out of it. I'd rather have seen Sunny (hell, I'd rather have seen Bullet Bob, as Road Dogg did the induction), but it's the smart business move to air Drew. And Drew Carey belongs in the CELEBRITY WING of the Hall as much as Refrigerator Perry.

Danielson/Sheamus had better build and would have delivered much better than the 8 man. They would have had extra time with fewer entrances, and they have already showed that they can have solid matches with little time due to their matches on Raw. Give me an entertaining 7 minute match with them over a stupid 8 man any day.
