Alright, we are now at the end of round 3. As expected this round saw the most controversy and discussion, and it'll probably only get more heated as people are faced off with new opponents.
Results from the ECW Region:
Match 1: Three Way Dance
Three wrestlers in a very unfamiliar environment. The match starts off as expected with Race letting Rhodes and Smith take advantage of each other. Finally a Race/Rhodes alliance is formed and they eliminate the Bulldog, who only managed 24% of the vote. An old battle reignites as Rhodes and Race battled in the ECW Arena, but much like before, Harley Race is able to get the upperhand and leave round 3 a bloody and battered victor. Race with 42% of the vote.
Match 2: The House of Fun
This match started off with Jeff Hardy taking a big lead inside of the weapon filled cage. However, Raven comes back and puts a hurting on Hardy with some help from, that's right It's KISS. Matt Hardy makes his way to ringside, but the group of KISS is able to hold off Matt while Raven plants Jeff with a DDT. Raven moves on with 55% of the vote.
Match 3: A Riot waiting to happen.
The ECW crowd is ready to explode as they know who is coming out next. John Cena has hit the ring and the riot squad is called in to calm things down. The ECW crowd wants blood and they want Cena's blood. Out next comes, the Blue Blazer??? Ah damn it. The ECW crowd is now exposed to WWE hell as they boo this match the entire time. Cena takes a big and decisive lead punishing the Blazer. Finally Cena locks the FU on the Blazer, but the Blazer gets up at the 8 count. The Blazer gets on his knees begging Cena to stop, but Cena will hear nothing of it and calls for another FU. The Blazer takes his mask off, and it's none other then the British Bulldog, WTH. The old ECW lights go out, and come back on to see Owen Hart smash a Slammy on Cena's head and get the victory. The Anvil comes to the ring and he and the Bulldog toss Cena's body into the crowd, to be bodysurfed to who knows where. Owen advances with 57%.
Match 4:
Those damn gimmick handcuffs. Why would you ever handcuff someone in wrestling, because you always know they are going to get broken. Rhodes puts up an admirable fight, but the Big Red Machine is just too much to handle. Kane advances with 55%. That kinda sucks, because Goldust circa 96 was a kick ass character.
Match 5: Christopher Daniels put on a valiant effort against a very dangerous man in a very dangerous environment. Being dog Collared though limited the Fallen Angels move arsenal, and it was just too much to overcome the Franchise. Shane Douglas advances with 64% of the vote.
Match 6: A match for the ECW ages. Both men beat the hell out of each other and legitimiatlly could get 3 counts, but this is a submissin match. Finally Rhino misses with the gore and it's in that split second that Taz chokes out the War Machine. Taz gets 86% of the vote.
Match 7: Damn!
Ron Simmons was bad ass, but HBK is just too much to handle, even with an ECW crowd breathing down his throat. HBK gets an easy ladder match victory with 95% of the vote.
Match 8:
The triple threat would make their presence known, but even that was not enough for Lance Storm to take down Big Sexy. Kevin Nash takes care of Storm with a massive powerbomb onto a ringside table and onto the cold ECW Arena floor. Nash with 60% of the vote.
So new matches for Round 4.
Harley Race vs. Raven
Owen Hart vs. Kane
Shane Douglas vs. Taz
Shawn Michaels vs. Kevin Nash
So looking at the final 32:
Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, The Rock, Christian Cage, Steve Austin, Chris Benoit, Lex Luger, Brock Lesnar, Hulk Hogan, AJ Styles, Sting, Terry Funk, Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Bam Bam Bigelow, Harley Race, Raven, Owen Hart, Kane, Shane Douglas, Taz, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarret, the Big Show, Booker T, Rick Rude, Triple H, Big Van Vader, Rob Van Dam, Eddie Guerrero.
I think that's a pretty damn good list of people to represent the last 25 years or so of American based wrestling.
Anyways, round 3 was a blast, we'll start round 4 now on Saturday Night at 6 pm. ET. Spin The Wheel, Make the Deal. You already know the matches on the wheel, and you know the matches, so now we have to see where they land. So as much fun as Hart v. Cena ended up being, I know, and I think everyone here does too, that won't come close to what Hulk Hogan vs.AJ Styles is going to produce.
