The NEW Ask a Forum Question Thread

So I once again got the "annoying" broad view of text and the forum.. it's not as wide as the "user forum default" view, but it's above the average wide texts etc. that was presented as standard through the WZ fixed mode, any idea's what I can do to get it back again? because I'm not very fond of reading big thick text..

I believe this is a matter of changing your user setting and options. However, if that gets you nowhere, consulting Slyfox would be your best bet. He is the technological genius behind the forum.

Maybe I'm just an idiot but I was thinking about posting my first thread as I am now allowed to and I ws concerned that it was a little too similar too another (but not enough to get the feedback I'm looking for IMO) and today the rules were posted to the main site so I wanted to run the idea by a mod but I can't seem to figure out how. I read the FAQ and the Site Rules but if the answer was there I didn;t see it. Could someone please help me? Again sorry if this is something I should have been able to get on my oen.

Once you have an idea as to which section your new thread should be posted in, I highly suggest that you PM (private message) the moderator of that section and seek their advice as to whether you're posting the thread in the proper section. They will advise you from there. Please be sure to include the subject of the new thread that you wish to post and a little information about what will be posted within the thread.

Yeah I figured Sly might eventually pop in here, I placed it here cause I figured it probably wouldn't fit properly into the "Technical troubleshooting thread" and I tried changing various options to see if it changed anything, and tried to press various keyboard buttons as well (I was copy pasting some quote lines for a reply for a thread when it happened, so I'm not exactly sure what I might have wrongly pressed).

Thanks for giving it a try anyway D :)

Is there any way of blocking someone from sending you a PM?
Put them on your ignore list.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Is it a WZ related thing, or a browser thing?

It's WZ related mostly, it's the viewing on the forum, it's a mix of the original small text viewing and the thick clusterfuck that is WZ Liquid viewing sense..it used to be the normal small text viewing when you selected WZ fixed, but now it's in-between.

What browser are you using, and have you tried changing text size with Ctrl + or Ctrl -?

It's funny you should mention that Sly, because that's exactly what changed it back, it happened again when i was making ready to reply to another thread (lots of quotings here and there) had CTRL and V pressed, then started scrolling, and text increased.

I'm using Firefox, but I'm guessing that's pretty irrelevant now.

Is there any way to request an avatar to be added to the site? or make a suggestion to include one when the avatars get updated?

As this is not specifically answered in the FAQs I'll let you guys off.

When it's time to add new avatars a thread will be opened in the graphics section, that being said it has only ever happened twice in forum history.

I was looking at my User Control Pannel and was reading my past infractions. One is listed as 'Private' and another is N/A.

Do they mean anything special?

Just curious.

Oh wait. I'm an idiot. Private would mean the post has been deleted. I can still see it because I see the deleted message.

I read over most of the questions asked and i apoligize if this question has been asked before but you have an area dedicated to Movies and Television but not an area for literature? Now I am aware that not alot of people may not be interested in books there could be at least some people who could recommend books to read and other such things and even threads in which to talk about what you are reading at the current moment. i apoligize if this has been asked already.

It has, but not in this thread, and there's no need to apologize for asking it. We don't have a Literature area because we don't feel there is a demand for it. We have a Stickied thread in the Cigar Lounge for books, which has been in existence for almost a year now, and it only has 100 posts.

There just isn't a demand for it.

Is anyone else having a problem with this at the top part of the page? It seems to have slipped by my AdBlock Plus and it's annoying how it stretches the page out.

No, I haven't, but you can always add the FanBoy's List to Adblock plus, as well as the EasyList and see if that takes care of your problem.

None of my business really, but I'm curious as to what the "referrals" are on a users profile page. Is that secret or would I be able to learn the exact meaning?

WHen you register, you can give credit for people who sent you here or on occasion who you came here because of. I think that's what it is at least.
