Raw LD 7/20 - So an old enters a bar.....

That was an awesome main event.

The babyfaces got the win and sent the crowd into a frenzy, but all of the heels were still protected. Plus Lana slapped the shit out of Summer. Great stuff. Loved the finish. Sometimes it really is fun to be a wrestling fan.

I can't help but wonder how WWE got to be a billion dollar corporation if they don't care about making money.

What I meant is that they have enough money, so at this point its enough for them. What they want to do now is satisfy Vince's irrational needs

Cena is in the Hulk Hogan in the early 90s sort of position, how did that work out for the WWE then?

I agree that's it's not a good position and I agree that Cena could lose some feuds and be fine, but not against someone like Owens, who has barely been on WWE television for a month. What happens if Owen proves in the future to be not as good as the hype makes him out to be, like Punk or Christian? Then it would have been a waste of a rub from Cena. The last thing WWE wants is another Brock Lesnar scenario, where they give the guy the world and he takes off after 2 years.

A successful businessman never thinks he has enough money. I don't know exactly what it takes to run a successful wrestling company and I don't think you do either. I'll trust the guy that took his regional promotion and turned it into multi million dollar global success. By no means do I agree with every creative decision but I also don't think Vince McMahon sacrifices money for no reason. I don't know why there were not youth size Randy Orton t shirts at that particular house show. Maybe his youth merchandise doesn't sell particularly well online. Maybe that one guy was one of very few that were interested in that product (still available to him online by the way). Maybe WWE has a research team that knows best when it comes to stocking their souvenir stands. Maybe there is an entire team of people making these decisions based on what they feel is best for the company. That all sounds more reasonable than Vince sabotaging his own company for no reason.

That was a fun Raw... I'll probably stay off these LD's from now on though...

Fun RAW indeed.

LDs are usually fun, tonight seemed an exception. Hope to see you next wk, your contribution is well appreciated, I'm sure.

Honestly I think the issue with Owens is a result of the Bucky Beaver Mother Fucker getting in Vince's ear bad mouthing him. I can't remember the last time Kevin was injured if he even has been even with that Indy style, he is a somewhat proven commodity in that he got over wherever he worked, as far as I am aware he doesn't have the negative backstage reputation that CM Punk has (except from Cornette, who also doesn't like Santino so take from that what you will). that man studies the industry and can talk and wrestle. The Rock and Stone Cold are fans of his so take from that what you will. It sounds more like people that have forgotten that you go to a wrestling show and you get a little bit of everything and it makes it good.

Ah, yes Kevin Dunn. Can't say I like the guy either, and i'll be happy once he retires from all the stories I've heard and read about him. However, if WWE were to use Cena to put over someone that could realistically supplement some of the marketing pressure off him it wouldn't be someone like Owens whose only been with the company briefly. That answer was Daniel Bryan, but shit happened and he got seriously injured. Another future candidate could be Roman Reigns.

And Cornette doesn't like Santino because he laughed at the Boogeyman. Who laughs at the Boogeyman? That would be like laughing at Undertaker's gimmick.

Ok maybe i explained it wrong.. let me explain it better

Vince does care about money, to an extent. However, he also cares about the mold of a typical wwe superstar. For example, if there is someone with a bad physique but draws a lot of money, Vince would STILL be hesitant on pushing him. So there are A LOT of factors for Vince to consider, since he is out of touch. Its pretty much a requirement to be either handsome or jacked up to get a push. However Triple H's influence has been changing things up, which is why Rollins is currently world champion.

I just had a thought, Kevin Owens and John Cena 1 worked. That should have been it for a good 6 months or so. Have them do something else with both Cena and Owens. It would protect Owens more

Can't do that.. remember its cena, and vince has an unhealthy obsession with cena always getting his win back

But your example was Randy Orton.

Can you get a kids size Rollins T-shirt at UK house shows shortly after Mania?

Lols.

Undertaker is around and it's not Wrestlemania season. The Divas are doing something watchable and it's not Wrestlemania season. Just want to take a moment and appreciate that.

Cena is valued more highly than Orton because he is a bigger ass kisser to Vince.. so yes they both the WWE mold, but Cena kisses ass more.

Thus, my disgust for being on the same side of an argument as you. While I, and several others, are coming at it from a logical standpoint, you're just a fucking mark.

The show was fucking incredible in person. Lots of fun.

Are you implying that I am not coming at a logical standpoint? How am i a mark when I am providing unbiased facts to support my reasoning?

You know for a fact that Cena kisses more ass than Randy Orton? Or that he kisses ass at all for that matter? I can guarantee that you have never once seen either guy interact with Vince or any other person in a position of power within the WWE outside of the ring. You're regurgitating lines from a 4 year old CM Punk promo.

I agree that this whole "Taking him to limit" thing is horseshit, but arguing that Cena draws more money because they want him to just makes zero sense any you put it. Now should they potentially take a short term hit in order to better build for the future? There's a discussion to be had there.
