MMA GSD For May - RIP Francisco, King of the Douchebags

Because he possibly lied to the commission and wasn't willing to play ball, so they took it personal.

I'm the biggest Sonnen fan on the site and even I thought it was time for the UFC to walk away until the CSAC, thanks to their incompetence, managed to give Chael a coup.

Margarito was suspended for a year from fighting in the US and from what I heard, there is no evidence he participated in this. Sonnen is able to reapply in June and still had a license in other states. Sonnen also lied to the commission. I am done with this. You just can't seem to get it through your head. One fighter is not worth the risk.

THIS IS BUSINESS, EVERYONE FUCKING DOES IT. Why does Margarito get a lenient punishment and Sonnen, who's actions were not as bad, get's shat on.
Corruption and money.

What fucking shitty view of business do you fucking possess? You do understand the concept of what Fizzy is trying to say, right? Shit, you really can't sit there and say that White can just make an "under the table" offer to the CSAC, or any regulating commission, and expect to get away with it. What's worse, you fucking believe it. Right now, UFC wants to make a fight in New York. should a deal happen, it just gives all those anti-MMA people fuel to the fire and go stand on soapboxes to claim that UFC is a dirty and shady business. Then comes the domino effect, and pretty soon, White finds himself in a position where he can't make fights anywhere. So to rephrase, do you understand ANY concept of business at all?

Very happy to see New York finally get MMA, well possibly. Hopefully it'll make it the whole way and we can see a show from the Garden.

140 is in Canada. Plus, I doubt they'd be ready to fight in NY by December. Were only half way to NY, and we still have to get by the assembly. Pretty sure the fighters have to get licensed and all also.

Probably by march '12. Maybe they get enough licensed fighters to make a card while the rest get sorted out. That card will sell like crazy.

A rumor I heard today was that Hatsu Hioki was released from his contract and is in talks with the UFC. I don't have a reliable source, but it's just what I read.

Anyone else think Hamill has a decent enough chance to pull off the upset Saturday? Rampage seemingly has a huge weakness against high-level wrestlers and Machida was able to hold him down in the 3rd round of their fight. If Hamill can get this to the ground, I think Rampage is in huge trouble.

The Machida fight shows to me that Hammil has MORE than a decent chacne of upsetting Rampage, I'm not saying he'll win but to me the fight is still pretty interesting.

Did anyone watch Rapmapge's interview with Helwani? So fucking painful and I have no idea how people can still call him a better dude than Evans.

Anyone else really psyched about Guida vs. Pettis this weekend? I literally have no idea who is going to win that fight and I think it could be a possible FOTY candidate.

Rest of the card is kind of blah though... I have a feeling the TUF final is going to be Tony vs. Ramsey.

Guida's fights are always entertaining, so no doubt I'll be down to watch it.

Also, calling it now, with Akiyama supposedly having back problems, Stann will fight Belfort at UFC 133 in August. If he wins that fight, he'll be next in line for a shot.

I 100% believe Stann's going to get fast-tracked to a title shot. He's a budding superstar and extremely marketable. He's in a very thin Middleweight division that is thirsting for star power at the moment.

I've officially given up on boxing because everyone sans Pac and nameless featherweights fight like *****es; if I want to get (more) into MMA but ground-and-pound/ground grappling currently bores the shit out of me because I don't have the technical knowledge of it, which fighters should I take notice of

I'm definitely looking forward to it. I got Guida winning a decision.

I also think Ed Herman vs. Tim Credeur is going to be a hell of a fight as well. Both are TUF losers, but both are still very good and never in boring fights.

Wouldn't be surprised, especially since it's not the Rio card (they wouldn't put Stann in a heel position like that).

Stann will slaughter Vitor if it happens. The only striker I think can beat Stann at this point in the UFC MW Division is Anderson Silva (though I wouldn't count out Rich Franklin if he went back down). Every other striker, however, will get KTFO against him.

Boxing right now is better than it has been in YEARS. The only people who are bitching are those who pay attention to ONLY Pac and Mayweather.

Apparently Kurt Pellegrino is taking a hiatus from MMA. I wish him luck in whatever he does from here on out.

He has a pretty good gym so i'm assuming he will be focusing on that. Shame though, very game and fun fighter.

I love Vitor and I wouldn't even take him in a fight against Stann right now. Vitor has the faster hands but Stann only needs one punch to put anyone away. I would love to see that fight go down though.

'Vitor has never been beaten in the stand-up' - Chael Sonnen

When Vitor lands and I guarantee you, he will always land first, Stann'll be receiving a flurry of punches before he can even blink. Vitor via forst round but more likely second round TKO. Great fight tho.

I can never seem to catch any of the Super 6, I tried to record the Ward fight the other night and the only thing my DVR fucking saved was that boring as piss Pac Mosley fight

I want to see more shit like the Marquez/Vazquez trilogy where two guys go out and just start cracking each other
