And because of Orton's heelish actions at Unforgiven (I think) two years ago that cost Punk his first reign with the World Championship, Punk is looking to get his revenge on Orton. Punk seems like the guy to cheer for here.
And Orton was clearly the heel in the feud with HHH leading up to WM25. Anyone who thinks different is just an absolute moron.
Is it out of the question that Miz could win at Mania?

Yeah but by your own logic, Orton said he was only after HHH because of what HHH did to him way back in the day of Evolution. Faces and heels change over time. If you're gonna question it in one case you can't just ignore it in the others.
Except Punk is going about it by being an asshole bad guy, while Orton isn't. The past is the past, the present is how you decide who to cheer for.And because of Orton's heelish actions at Unforgiven (I think) two years ago that cost Punk his first reign with the World Championship, Punk is looking to get his revenge on Orton. I agree completely, there were morons here who thought Orton should have been cheered for DDTing a woman who did shit to him, because Trips kicked him out of Evolution 5 years prior. And Orton was clearly the heel in the feud with HHH leading up to WM25. That's why they were feuding? I must have missed that. I thought it was because Orton punted McMahon in the head and Trips wanted to avenge him.
But if that's the case, it makes the line blurry. But Orton was acting so blatantly heel throughout the feud that it was impossible to cheer for him.
Punk, on the other hand, is pointing out the facts and Orton is, once again, attacking people unprovoked. I'm just finding it easier to cheer for Punk than to cheer for Orton.
