WWE RAW LD 2/14/2011 - Finally?

It appears me being tired has cause me to misread your quotes, there more aimed at shutting arrogant dicks up. For that I thank you. NorCal on the other hand:

Norcal and I were on the same page. He and I were texting each other at home and shutting everyone up in the LD.

Go drink some coffee, bro.

Rock did a great job, of course. But he got the reaction he did because partly he's been gone... If he did that week after week, it would get eventually get old... His "old school" approach - (using some naughty words, trash talking the WWE's main face, etc.) hasn't been used in a while...

I don't see Cena turning heel. He attracts a huge demographic as a face, and the WWE can't be that stupid. I see him maybe taking on more of an Orton persona - meaner, but someone you still cheer for. We might see a new style design for him as well.

Ironically, the Rock DOES have a new, R-rated movie coming out...

This is totally wrong. You seem to forget that live crowds across the world have not seen the Rock in person for seven years. These pops would be equal every single week until the tour was finished.

Of course live crowds will pop - the Rock is excellent at what he does, but no matter how good, the same "schtick" begins to wear a little thin. When the crowd expects something, it doesn't go over as big - that's just human nature.

Everything gets old... over time. But the Rock has always been a superstar with the greatest reactions once his music hit.

Jesus, everyone was an asshole in this LD. "IT'LL BE TEH ROCK!" "NO SHUT UP LOSER IT WILL NEVER BE THE ROCK, I HOPE HE NEVER COMES BACK SO I CAN LAUGH AT YOU AND PRETEND I'M SUPERIOR TO YOU IN EVERY WAY"

Glad I don't do RAW LDs anymore and watch with friends, we FREAKED when Rock's music hit. We thought it would be, like, Lady Gaga :lmao:

I could honestly argue that being a candidate for the greatest episode of RAW ever. Good wrestling, and the biggest return angle in a decade make for a hell of an exciting show, especially only 6 days away from the EC PPV.

Best one in a long time for sure. Good action in the Cena/Punk match, the Divas match, and especially in the Miz/Bryan match. Those two really pulled off some excellent moves... Exciting stuff!

Okay Cena is now a heel. How is he not

How do you see that? Because the Rock insulted him? That makes Cena a heel? Cena already responded to the Rock via Twitter - more or less laughed it off and acknowledged it was good to see the Rock back in WWE. If anything, I see Rock and Cena eventually teaming up vs. Punk, Miz, and Legacy.

I was just sitting here thinking it better not be something stupid like Beiber..., then Rock comes out and Marked out like a little kid seeing his favorite wrestler for the first time, twas truly and awesome moment, I've half tempted to now order EC just in case Rock shows up there, I don't want to miss any of this epic run

You're right, he won't.

He attracts a huge demographic as a face, and the WWE can't be that stupid. I see him maybe taking on more of an Orton persona - meaner, but someone you still cheer for. We might see a new style design for him as well.

All because of one promo? Doubtful. Cena got shit on, big time, but he hasn't even had a chance to fire back. They won't be that quick to change anything.

However, Cena cannot win against The Rock, with the fans that is. He wasn't even out there, and we got a pretty large "Cena Sucks" chant. I don't care if they boo or cheer Cena, I just don't think he has much of a chance, once he and The Rock are actually face to face.

Legacy??? Huh?

See what happens when you can go unscripted?

You really don't believe that was unscripted, do you? I mean, it was well written, and delivered by an absolute pro, but OF COURSE it was scripted - all the way down to the non-PG language flying out mainly in the overrun after the 11:05 ET slot ended.

I should have emphasized the "maybe." I mean, if creative was going to evolve Cena's character, I believe it would be in that direction rather than have him go full-on heel. But I agree with you, I don't see them changing anything.

"WWE Champion The Miz def. U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan in a Non-Title Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
It was evident that Daniel Bryan wasn’t all there. During his battle against WWE Champion The Miz, the United States Champion appeared unfocused, perhaps more concerned with his girlfriend Gail Kim, who had been in a scuffle with The Bellas earlier. As a result, The Cleveland Screamer triumphed in the pair’s non-title match just six days before he defends his title against Jerry “The King” Lawler at WWE Elimination Chamber."

The fuck, WWE? That match was amazing. It would've been even more outstanding if not for the overwhelming return of the Rock.

Agreed! Miz and Bryan really did some great work in that match.

Even though i never stayed up to watch it live last night and i had read reports before i went to work this morning, even knowing it was the rock. I marked out like a kid again, its the 1st time i have been like that in about 10 years.

Difference between bullet points and scripted.

I'm an adult and have watched the segment four times since last night. Perhaps that's borderline creepy.

Just four? I'm watching it for the 6th time now. It's not creepy, it's marking out over the return of one of the most popular wrestlers of all time.

I doubt Rock had a scripted promo since before his main event run. The guy was good enough to run with bullet points. He did it again tonight. No way was that scripted.

I just watched the full unclipped version and it's fucking incredible.

Also 1600 posts for a Raw LD. I think, I think the Rock is a draw.

Solid show last night.

Cena vs. Punk was awesome, but I think Miz and Bryan put on the match of the night. Match was legit incredible.

I haven't ventured into the non spam area yet, but Miz going over Bryan clean has probably caused a riot somewhere. "Oh My Godz, Miz loses all the time or cheats to win." Well everyone bitches about that, but he goes clean over Morrison and Bryan in a month, and the IWC is lighting the torches.

The Edge/Ziggler/Guerrero angle has me interested in Smackdown big time. So unofficially Edge is stripped of the title? Me thinks Teddy Long or the new GM of Smackdown will be out to stop that.

JoMo took a big step tonight. i've been super impressed with this man lately. I love that the WWE basically cut the fluff and spot monkey crap out of his arsenal and just had him pissed and kicking ass.

The Rock coming back was obviously huge. I'm not a big fan of running down Cena unless there is some sort of end game yet to be seen.
