Not 100% sure I am staying in. Not a huge fan of the settings, seems like if you add some it should improve on 5x5 but it isn't clear to me that we have.

I'd prefer QS to BB, but it seems like that'd be even more controversial.

Alternatively, we could track IP for pitchers.

Do we agree on the hitting categories? We could alternatively track SLG or OBP depending on what the corresponding drop is. I wouldn't want to do both HR and SLG for example. OPS is possible too.

I do like 6x6 just to add some nuance. 5x5 can get a little boring.


EDIT: In the belief we can work it all out, I am going to go ahead and finalize the league. If anyone needs to drop after this point, that can be worked out. But with ~1 week to go I'd like to do this.

Also, tweaked the roster settings. Less one utility player, added a CI, a MI, a fourth OF, and another RP.

We could also do simply 9 P and let you do whatever you like with that. I sort of like simulating a real roster a little better, but we can talk about it.

I would like to have OPS (batters) and Holds (pitchers) added. Holds give relief pitchers value, and closers too (a closer who loses his job loses all value in most leagues.

I like doing more than 5x5 just not strikeouts for hitters or walks for pitchers. Personally I don't mind partially "double counting" certain things as long as they are more meaningful predictors of success than the two I mentioned. Pitching is tough, especially without holds (which I am indifferent on), to add beyond 5. I'd probably lean towards something that gave further value to SP as long as balance in a way that makes sense to not excessively encourage streaming then again you don't necessarily have to balance the categories, do you?

I think everyone wants R,RBI,SB. I'd rank my interest in the other categories as follows OBP,SLG,AVG,HR,OPS,strikeouts. I think OPS as the 6th category to the traditional 5 is a little too slanted towards power guys.

SD said he would draft but might not stick with it. Yahoo has apparently added functionality for adding players even if the league has already drafted, so if we need a replacement, we can try, but this thread has been around for a while and bumped multiple times, so I don't know if there's anyone interested in being a replacement.

We had at least one inactive last year and it still played out alright, albeit with a larger pool of players.

So I have to play something daily for 5+ months that I don't even particularly like because there is no one else? Seems fair to me. Never would have signed up if the settings were clear from the beginning.
