Smackdown opened with Teddy Long to address the World title controversy from Capitol Punishment. Long calls Christian to the ring. Christian says he deserves another title shot. Long tells him he has to earn it, so it's Kane vs. Christian to determine the new number one contender tonight.

*Sin Cara defeated Ted DiBiase in a good match.

*Cody Rhodes came out for his match with Daniel Bryan. Bryan came out and said that unlike what Cody thinks, looks aren't everything and showed a photo of Dusty Rhodes on the Titantron. He said Dusty may not have been the best looking guy but had charisma and was a good person, something Cody is not. DiBiase comes out when the match begins. Cody gets the win.

*Johnny Curtis vignette in catering. He stands in front of a table with ketchup, mayo and mustard. He takes the first two and leaves the mustard, because he can cut it.

*Backstage, Matt Striker interviews Big Show about being attacked by Mark Henry. Show says he's going to get Henry back when Henry spears him out of nowhere into the set. The referees help Show up and out as Henry walks off.

*WWE Intercontinental champion Ezekiel Jackson has his first title defense, defeating Wade Barrett.

*Jack Korpela interviews World champion Randy Orton. He says that Christian getting another opportunity to be the number one contender is comical but if he has to, he will defeat him again.

*Backstage, Wade Barrett comes across Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. They mock him for losing to Jackson and say they are going to go out there and do something he can't - win.

*Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater defeated the Usos.

Really hoping Kane wins. I've wanted to see Kane vs. Orton for years. No idea why but always thought it could be rather good.

*Jinder Mahal vs. Yoshi Tatsu never happened as Mahal attacked Tatsu and laid him out. Mahal cut a promo saying Great Khali is done kissing fat women and they will dominate.

I was in attendance at Capitol Punishment. To clarify during the Zeke vs. Barrett match the only chants I heard were some small "We want Ryder" and "Boring" chants. I have seen twice now people try to tell me Zeke is over and it makes we want to slap them. Zeke hands down got the most flat reaction of the night. Thats not to say he is bad, hes just so generic and boring its not even funny. He just reeks of like a default wrestling CAW.

He seeme dover because of the USA chants which were AGAINST barrett rather than for the non American Zeke.

Mark Henry attacked Kane to cause a DQ in Christian vs. Kane. Randy Orton came out to even things up. Teddy Long made it a tag match. Orton nailed Christian with an RKO but Henry nailed Orton with the World's Strongest Slam and pinned him, so Christian ends up with a title shot at the MITB PPV.

Ok there has to be a gimmick/stipulation for the Christian/Orton match this time. You can't just have 3 regular matches in a row.

When they're as of a high quality which they've been, I don't see why not? With the CM Punk storyline driving PPV buys, two Ladder matches and now Orton vs. Christian people will be more willing to buy the event as it seems to be shaping into a pretty good card.

That's not going to draw a dime. Granted an Orton/Christian match isn't exactly a cash cow anyway, but putting them in a cage match or something coupled with the rest of the card might sway those who are on the fence about buying the show. Oh, and yeah the matches have been good, but what the hell are they going to do differently in this one? The quality of the Capitol Punishment match wasn't as high as the match at Over The Limit.

They had Cena and Sheamus in a cage match at MITB last year so why not?

True. Personally I'm just pleased to see Orton vs. Christian happening again, as it's still the best feud they've had going definitely this year and probably one of the best in the last two - three years.

I thought they'd have waited for SummerSlam actually for this one, but I understand why they've gone for another match, which I'm guessing will be the last in the series, with Orton ultimately winning.

My early spoiler wasn't 100% correct. What happened was it was Christina vs Kane. Winenr receives title shot. Mark Henry interfered and Kane won.
Kane thinks he gets a title shot.
Teddy Long comes out makes it a tag match, Henry/Christian vs Orton Kane.
Henry pinned Orton Clean from what I've read.
By Christians team winning he gets a title shot.
So Christian had no part in the outcome of either his singles or tag match and receives the title shot.

He seems to have lost some muscle mass by the looks of it in the video and in the space of three months it's could be possible for him to lose more muscle mass.
