WWE broke the story today that WWE Champion CM Punk is undergoing "emergency" knee surgery today in Pensacola, FL.

Immediately after last night's RAW, Punk's knee was examined Dr. James Andrews and the decision was made for him to undergo surgery immediately.

Punk has been working with a bad knee for several weeks, but it's still unclear at this point exactly what the issue is and the expected recovery time.

Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com is now reporting that the surgery was supposed to be minor, but now it's looking like the damage was worse than originally expected and Punk won't be wrestling in the main event of the upcoming WWE TLC pay-per-view as advertised.

- Due to the earlier reported injury, WWE announced at tonight's SmackDown tapings from North Charleston, South Carolina that WWE Champion CM Punk will no longer defend against Ryback at the TLC pay-per-view.

Instead, Ryback will team with Kane and Daniel Bryan to face Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in a six-man match. No word yet what the stipulation will be.

WWE SmackDown spoilers from tonight's tapings in North Charleston, South Carolina:

* Sheamus and Big Show kick off SmackDown. They're brought out to sign an agreement saying they won't touch each other until the TLC pay-per-view. They argue and Show is booked to wrestle next.

* Big Show defeated Daniel Bryan. After the match, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns come out and attack Bryan until Kane makes the save. They end up beating Kane down and put him through the Spanish announcers table.

* Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal defeated Brodus Clay and The Usos.

* Damien Sandow comes out and he's looking for an apprentice. He brings a fan in the ring and ends up dismissing him after some questions. The Miz interrupts and they have words.

* Kofi Kingston comes out for commentary. Randy Orton defeated Wade Barrett after Kofi distracted him.

* The Great Khali and Hornswoggle beat Epico and Primo. Rosa Mendes and Natalya argued at ringside.

* Antonino Cesaro comes out to cut a promo but gets attacked by R-Truth. Truth vs. Cesaro is announced for TLC.

* Sheamus beat Alberto Del Rio in the main event by submission. Big Show came out during the match and watched from the ramp. After the match, Show ran in the ring and dares Sheamus to hit him. Instead, Sheamus threw Ricardo Rodriguez into him

* Leo Kruger and Kassius Ohno beat Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel.

* Corey Graves beat Seth Rollins via DQ when The Shield came out. The locker room emptied to stop them but couldn't get it done. Big E Langston stared down Rollins to end the show.

* The Shield meets with Dusty Rhodes. Rollins vs. Big E Langston in a No DQ match is made.

* Bray Wyatt came out and cut a promo.

WWE Tribute to the Troops spoilers from tonight's tapings in Norfolk, Virginia:

* Lillian Garcia opened the show with the National Anthem

* Kid Rock did a set of 5 songs.

* Michael Cole and JBL are the announce team and Justin Roberts is the ring announcer.

* Sheamus and Randy Orton team up against Dolph Ziggler and The Big Show. Orton and Sheamus are the winners. Randy hits RKO on Big Show followed by a Brogue Kick from Sheamus.

* Ryback vs. Alberto Del Rio is up next. Ryback wins via disqualification with interference from Ricardo Rodriguez. Ryback hits Shellshocked on both.

* Kane, Daniel Bryan and R-Truth vs Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal. Team Hell No and R-Truth win when R-Truth hit his finisher on Heath Slater.

* Miz TV with the The Muppets is next. The Miz wants to know if Kermit truly loves Ms. Piggy. Damien Sandow interrupts and Miz challenges him.

* At the conclusion, all the Superstars came on stage while Cena thanked the Military for their service. Santa Claus came out in a sleigh with Superstars dressed as reindeer. The Usos, Zack Ryder, PTP, Santino Marella, Justin Gabriel and Yoshi Tatsu were reindeer. I think Mick Foley was Santa but I couldn't tell from where I was seated. Triple H was present but only made an appearance at the conclusion. I saw John Laurinaitis, Dean Malenko, Road Dogg, Micheal Hayes during the conclusion as well. Other superstars at the conclusion were AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, Ted DiBiase, Alicia Fox and others.

- TNA taped the December 13th episode of Impact Wrestling tonight in Orlando. Here are spoilers :

* Bobby Roode comes out and is interrupted by Aces & 8s. Devon says someone else paid them for what happened at Final Resolution. Jeff Hardy and James Storm came out but Aces escaped.

* Velvet Sky beat Madison Rayne.

* Garett Bischoff and Wes Brisco beat Robbie E and Robbie T.

* James Storm and Jeff Hardy beat Doc and another Aces member. Devon revealed after the match it was Austin Aries who paid Aces & 8s at Final Resolution.

* AJ Styles comes out and cuts a promo. He's upset about his position in TNA.

* Kenny King beat Rob Van Dam in a non-title match.

* Bully Ray beat Jesse.

* Austin Aries comes out and talks about Final Resolution and paying Aces & 8s off. Aries says he won't stop taunting Hulk Hogan until he gets his World Title back. Jeff Hardy comes out and says he can have the rematch. They brawl to end the show.

* Kurt Angle calls out Devon. Devon comes out but brings Aces & 8s with him. Angle calls out his group - Wes Brisco, Samoa Joe and Garett Bischoff.

* Devon retained the TV Title against Kurt Angle.

* Tara beat Mickie James.

* Kazarian and Daniels come out with Christmas presents and a tree. They call Santa Claus to the ring and give him a present. James Storm interrupts and destroys the tree, then hits Last Call on Santa. Storm ends it by giving the presents to fans.

* Joey Ryan and Matt Morgan beat Rob Van Dam and Kenny King.

- It was reported Saturday that some familiar faces could be returning to WWE in the coming months as there has been a push from several top talents for the organization to bring back some "solid hand" wrestlers that were previously released. Two specific names in mind are MVP and Shelton Benjamin as organization officials have discussed bringing the former Superstars back to the fold.

Since being released from WWE in April 2010 in a cost-cutting measure, Benjamin has kept busy in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. MVP also competes in New Japan, where he teams with Benjamin under the tag team name "Black Dynamite."

WWE SmackDown spoilers from tonight's tapings in Bridgeport, CT:

* Sheamus and Antonio Cesaro come out for commentary.

* Big Show beat R-Truth with the knockout punch. After the match, Show and Sheamus had a staredown but didn't get physical. Cesaro attacked Sheamus from behind and ran away.

* Sheamus is backstage saying that Big Show violated the no-contact rule earlier. Booker T brushed it off.

* Damien Sandow comes out and introduces Cody Rhodes. Rhodes and Sandow defeated The Usos.

* Backstage segment with Big Show and David Otunga talking.

* Otunga and Show come to the ring. Sheamus ends up interrupting as does Booker T. Sheamus teases hitting Show with the chair but doesn't. Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick on Otunga to end it.

* The Shield are backstage and they beat down Randy Orton. They put him through a table.

* Kaitlyn beat Aksana.

* Matt Striker reveals that Randy Orton suffered a separated shoulder and concussion.

* The Miz hosts MizTV with Kane and Daniel Bryan. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns come through the crowd but Ryback comes out and they go back up the stairs in the crowd.

* Hornswoggle, The Great Khali, Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel beat Primo, Epico, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil.

* Kofi Kingston beat Alberto Del Rio. Wade Barrett ran down after the match but Kofi hit him with Trouble in Paradise.

* Antonio Cesaro beat Sheamus by count out in the main event. Big Show came out with William Regal all beat up. Sheamus ran after Show but Show decked Regal with a chair and started laughing at Sheamus.

- TNA taped the second half of the December 20th Impact Wrestling spoilers on Tuesday night in Orlando. Here are full spoilers for that night:

Taped Monday:

* Impact Wrestling kicks off with Kurt Angle calling out Devon. Devon comes out and says says he had to bring his pack with them and Angle said he brought a pack of his own. Samoa Joe, Wes Brisco, Garett Bischoff made their way to ringside.

* Devon defeated Kurt Angle in a TV Title match.

* Tara w/Jessie Goddarz defeated Mickie James.

* Kazarian comes out with presents. He then introduces Christopher Daniels. Daniels sits in the chair and Kazarian tells him he has a special guest: Santa Claus! He sits in the chair. Daniels and Kazarian says they for him a gift. Santa opens it and reveals zuma pants! James Storm interrupts and says they are making a mockery of Christmas. Daniels says James Storm should be on the naughty list since he is the reason AJ can’t go for the world title for a year. James Storm gets into the ring and knocks over the tree. Storm ends up super kicking Santa. Afterwards, Storm takes presents from Santa's bag and hands them out to fans.

* Matt Morgan & Joey Ryan defeated Kenny King & Rob Van Dam. That concludes half of the tapings for this episode.

Taped Tuesday:

* Jeff Hardy defeated Austin Aries.

* Hulk Hogan was doing a promo when the Aces and 8s attacked. The lights went out and 1-3-13 aired. Bully Ray then made the save for Hogan.

- TNA taped the December 27th episode of Impact Wrestling on Tuesday night in Orlando. Here are full spoilers:

* Samoa Joe opened the show and defeated an Aces & 8s member after calling him out.

* Robbie E and Robbie T did a "Bro Off" with Tara and Jessie.

* Bully Ray came out wanting to talk to Hulk Hogan but argued with Brooke Hogan instead.

- WWE is taping the December 28th episode of SmackDown tonight from Rochester, New York.

Dark Match:

* Alicia Fox beat Aksana with a scissors kick.

SmackDown, Airing December 28th:

* Sheamus kicks off SmackDown and says his New Year's resolution is to become World Heavyweight Champion. He calls out Big Show to the ring. Show comes out and says Sheamus won't be getting a title shot. Sheamus came for a fight and Booker T comes out. Show says Sheamus and nobody else in the locker room is worthy of a shot. Booker says the name of every Superstar will go into a tumbler and whoever gets picked will face Show for the title later tonight.

The entire locker room comes out to see who gets the title shot. Santino Marella's name is picked and he will face Big Show later tonight for the World Heavyweight Title.

* Epico vs. Brodus Clay is up next. Brodus wins a quick squash. Rosa Mendes gets in the ring and starts yelling at him after the match. Naomi and Cameron lay her out and then dance with Brodus and some kids.

* Backstage segment with Sheamus and Santino. Sheamus shows Santino how to beat Big Show with the Brogue Kick. Santino tries to do the kick and acts like he pulls his groin.

* Wade Barrett, Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes vs. Kane, Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston is up next. Barrett gets the win for his team by pinning Kofi.

* Backstage with Booker T and Big Show. Booker says Santino is injured so they will pick another name out of the tumbler. Booker says Show will find out soon enough who it is.

* Teddy Long brings in Big Show's opponent and it's Ricardo Rodriguez. Big Show laughs and knocks him out with a punch. Booker says this is ridiculous and Show leaves.

* Zack Ryder vs. Antonio Cesaro is up next. Cesaro wins a quick match.

* The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler is up next. Big E Langston distracted The Miz, allowing for Ziggler to hit his finisher and get the win. Miz takes the mic and tells AJ Lee that no matter which Superstar she ends up with on New Years, the night will end with a bang. Ziggler attacks him and they go at it until Langston comes in and lays out Miz.

* Booker is backstage with a doctor and Ricardo Rodriguez. The doc says RR can't compete. Brad Maddox appears and asks Booker for one more chance. Booker says this is it and his match is up next. Alberto Del Rio comes in and says the next time he sees Big Show, he's going to open him like a pinata. Booker offers Del Rio the title shot against Show tonight and he accepts.

* Brad Maddox comes out with a mic. He says his New Years resolution is to become a WWE Superstar. His opponent Sheamus is out next. Sheamus wins a squash.

* The Usos beat Darren Young and Titus O'Neil in a quick match.

* Striker is backstage with Big Show. Show says if Del Rio wants to get knocked out tonight then he will make it a trifecta.

* Big Show vs. Del Rio in the main event. Show tries to leave the match but Sheamus comes out and attacks him, trying to get him back in the ring. The bell rings so it appears Show won by DQ. Show tries leaving again but the entire locker room comes out and throws him back in the ring. Sheamus hit him with a Brogue Kick and then celebrated to end it.

WWE RAW spoilers from tonight's tapings in Washington, DC:

Dark Match:

* Alex Riley beat local wrestler Mark Jinks

RAW, Airing New Year's Eve:

* The theme for tonight's show will be Champion's Choice.

* They set up MizTV to kick off RAW. The Miz reveals that Vickie Guerrero has made all titles on the line tonight. He brings out his guest John Cena. Tonight's RAW is Champion's Choice and the champions will get to choose their challengers. Nothing is said yet about CM Punk defending the WWE Title.

Cena is interrupted by Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow. Cena mentions Washington Redskins quarterback RGIII and he is in the crowd. A RGIII chant breaks out. Miz and Cena vs. Rhodes Scholars is up next.

* The Miz and John Cena beat Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes in around 20 minutes. Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment on Sandow for the win.

* United States Champion Antonio Cesaro cuts an anti-USA promo and chooses to defend his title against Sgt. Slaughter. Cesaro gets the win with a Neutralizer. He hits a second Neutralizer on Slaughter after the match.

* Later tonight will be a New Years toast between AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler. John Cena is invited.

* Ryback vs. The Shield in a handicap match is announced for later.

* There's a backstage segment with Kane, Daniel Bryan and 3MB but the Titantron goes dark during it.

* Kane and Daniel Bryan will defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre. Jinder Mahal is at ringside. Kane and Bryan get the win, then do air guitar in the ring.

* CM Punk, Paul Heyman and a doctor come to the ring. The doctor is here to confirm that Punk is really injured and they show x-rays on the Titantron.

Punk talks about his title reign and all the injuries he has suffered. Punk brings up his WWE Title match against Ryback for January 7th. The doctor says he can't clear Punk to wrestle and then Vince McMahon interrupts to a big pop. Vince wishes everyone Happy New Year and overrules the doctor, saying the match will happen and will be a TLC match.

Vince wonders if Punk has been conspiring with The Shield and Brad Maddox. Vince goes on to say that WWE doctors will evaluate Punk and if he can't wrestle on January 7th, then Heyman will have to face Ryback in the TLC match.

* Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler is up next. Big E Langston and AJ Lee are at ringside. They wrestle for about 15 minutes until The Shield attacks and it's over. The Shield stand over Sheamus after beating him down. They leave through the crowd. Ziggler, AJ and Langston left as soon as The Shield attacked.

* Backstage segment with Punk, Heyman and Brad Maddox. Maddox asks for a job but Heyman tells him to get out.

* Backstage segment with Kofi Kingston and Wade Barrett.

* Eve Torres comes out and wants to defend the Divas Title against Mae Young. Mae isn't here so Eve wants a forfeit. Kaitlyn comes out instead and beats Eve down until she escapes and runs to the back.

* Big Show comes out and wants to defend his World Heavyweight Title against Ricardo Rodriguez. Alberto Del Rio is in the suit at ringside while Ricardo comes in driving his car. Del Rio ends up making the save and attacks Big Show. Ricardo did get some shots in but Show wins by DQ.

* Kofi Kingston comes out next to a big pop to defend the Intercontinental Title against Wade Barrett. Barrett gets the win and the title after a solid match.

* After the match, Josh Mathews interviews Barrett in the ring. Barrett warns the WWE locker room to watch out for him in 2013.

- The official WWE website announced Wednesday that WWE Champion CM Punk has been medically cleared to defend his title against Ryback in a TLC Match on this Monday's Raw, according to sources.

The match had originally been scheduled for the WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view, but immediate knee surgery on December 4 postponed that contest until he had fully recuperated.

WWE's sources indicate that final decision on Punk's status will be presented on tonight's episode of WWE Main Event on ION Television.

*ROH Tag Team champs The Briscoes defeated Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander.

*There was an angle setting up Kevin Steen vs. Lethal where Lethal told Steen if he wanted to destroy ROH, he'd have to destroy Lethal.

At the Royal Rumble, Punk is going to show The Rock that you can never go home.

* The Rock comes out for a promo. Flo Rida is in the house. The Rock is back on The Rock's show, SmackDown. Rock talks about his college football days. Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes come out. They say they are going to be champions soon and The Rock doesn't deserve this time. Rock says Cody has a dead caterpillar on his lip and makes fun of his lisp. Sandow has a wager for The Rock. Sandow says if Rock can answer 3 questions, he can stay. If not he leaves. Rock says bring it. Question 1 - who was the 19th US president. Rock says Rutherford B Hayes, bitch. - Alberto Del Rio defeated Big Show in a Last Man Standing match at tonight's WWE SmackDown tapings in Miami to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Del Rio celebrated and posed with the fans after the match. Earlier in the night, he had a strong chant from the Miami crowd.
