I think Spencer played slightly better than him because he made a lot more big moves, mainly when he'd jump from side to side.
Jeremy found two idols, saved Stephen, convinced Spencer it was in his best interest to vote out Abi which it wasn't, won the final immunity challenge to send Wentworth to the jury thereby eliminating the biggest threat to his victory and he got every single jury vote.
This isn't like Spencer came in fourth. He was in the final three. He had a chance to make a case for why he should win. He couldn't convince a single person that he should win. The game doesn't end until the jury votes. Jeremy thrashed both Tasha and Spencer during the final tribal council. That means something. 10-0-0 means that Jeremy is superior to Spencer.
Other than voting out Stephen what big moves did he make?
He knew when the right time to jump was and considering how early he was targeted, the fact he made the final 3 is incredible.
Jeremy was also targeted. He made stronger bonds with people so they wouldn't come after him. Jeremy was one of the biggest threats to win the moment the game began just like Spencer. One of them took a power position and held it for the entire game while the other had to fight from the bottom, barely avoiding elimination. The person on the bottom is not a better player than the person who was at the top.
Jeremy had the big alliance and managed to avoid getting votes due to the big shields he put in front of himself in Joe and Savage. Now don't get me wrong that was a great move on his part but he didn't have work hard to get to the end, he coasted.
What do you mean he didn't have to work hard? He was the guy who constructed the shields which took all the pressure off him. Jeremy established a game plan from the moment the game started and it worked perfectly. Spencer's plans at the beginning of the game failed. Totally failed. Spencer wanted to work with Stephen and Shirin, one went home second and the other sided with Jeremy.
Jeremy "didn't have to work hard" at the end of the game because his plans at the beginning were still working. Spencer had to scramble because his pre merge game was bad.
Then one thing that really irked me was when the final 3 were asked about what their second chance was about, Spencer and Tasha gave real answers about themselves or their gameplay. Jeremy just used it as an excuse to bring up his family and start crying to gain votes. His family isn't what his second chance was about so he shouldn't have mentioned it there.
Of course his family was what his second chance was about. The guy has a kid on the way and they could use the money. He'd be an idiot to leave that out. You win playing on peoples emotions. Jeremy won the game on the final question with an answer that crushed Spencer's entire growth narrative that he was trying to spin. One guy showed emotion while the other just talked about it.
If Spencer played a better game then he should have been able to convince at least one person out of the ten on the jury to vote for him.
