Impact Wrestling LD for 05.19.11

Incidentally; a little while ago I was reading the forum and was dismayed to discover that most people appear to enjoy Hemme as a ring announcer. Am I all alone in thinking that she's not very good at it. No rhythm to her announcements.

The first week, I was really impressed. It's been a steady decline since.

Ok so we'll have Roode/Flair, and we'll hear from Sting. Does that means THIS is the main event?

Angle main event. They do it every now and again. Historically pretty damn good actually, we got Sting's Main Event Mafia promos and the build to AJ's title win that way.

Vel vel is all eye candy. She's easily the worst wrestler in the company.

Nah they've got plenty of worse workers than Velvet. Miss Tessmacher for one. Madison Rayne secondly, watching her attempt to wrestle a match is literally sad and pathetic, like watching a crippled person try to get back up after falling down and failing miserably. I actually feel sorry for her.

She is a work in progress but she is better than the alternatives at the moment and shows some promise.

Maybe they will do Destination X for those with WWE sized attention spans.

Cute, but do you really think this story, which has already hit the peak where the division is "destroyed" since a non-X guy has the belt should go another 6 months? Exactly what do you do for those 6 months? If TNA was smart, they'd build up to Abyss taking that belt, with humiliations, humblings, and whatever else before Abyss finally takes the belt a month or two in. Then you have guys on the roster try and beat Abyss and can't until their "savior" comes in to do it. That's IF you want it to go that way. Even still, the way it is now, you can't make it go 6 months because people will lose interest. If you won't, power to you, but 95 percent of TNA's audience will.

Fair point, but I would have put the match we just saw as filler in the middle of the show and the Gen Me/Immortal match as the last match on the card. Would have been better that way.

What a remarkably stupid shot at the WWE. Seriously, you're criticizing WWE's commitment to long-term booking while watching TNA, the company that changes and forgets its angles every 2 weeks? What happened to Shannon Moore's heel turn?

Meanwhile the WWE has already announced the main event of their biggest show a year in advance and just wrapped up an Orton/Punk feud with roots all the way back to 2008.

If any company has an insanely miniscule attention span in regards to their booking, it's TNA. They change face/heel alignments and angles every few weeks with no explanation.

Destination X is after Slammaversary.

If that's the main event the total wrestling time is 19:34, or about 10 minutes less than the main event last week.

Kiss my ass earl :lmao:

5 months JJ. My only issue is that to get the right payoff you have to let Abyss dominate the division a lot. Can he really do that in 2 months sufficiently? I guess but that means the title win has to be immediate instead of a pursuit storyline. To me this storyline screams pursuit.

Probably true. Though I'd have ended on Kaz/Abyss. Feels much more like a main event.
