Daggers & Dragons: Ask me stuff

Do the letters AGDQ mean anything to you?

Oh so now everyone reveals they're fans of speedruns. I see how it is.

I can do a really fast Super Mario Bros run, but I'm really not bothered with doing any of them myself. Turns out the Zelda runner I used to watch is now a girl. Didn't expect that.

Just did a 100% (all items and hearts) run in Link To The Past at 3:24:49. That was an absolute blast. Best run I've ever had in the game by far. As much as I wanted to break the record on beating the game as fast as possible without glitching, breaking the 100% record without glitching may be more doable.

All this talk about speed runs makes me want to attempt a 120 star speed run for Mario. I did one for Banjo-Tooie about 2 weeks ago, though it wasn't so much a speed run as 100% completion, and it took me a solid 20 hours.

I had been listening to other music along the way. Primarily to avoid having to hear the exceedindly annoying beeping when my hearts got low. Mostly Nightwish up until the end, when I put on an extended version of Bowser's battle theme from Super Mario World during the digging mini game and Ganon's Tower. Oddly enough, it fit very well and added an extra layer of tension.

Dear Dagger Dias,

Why do you not use a Sharpshooter? That seems like the perfect type of move for a guy that rolls (shoots) dice and the like. And I can see a guy in a trenchcoat locking that on. Would look cool as hell.

Sincerely,
Spidey

Spidey,

Thank you for your fanmail. I had considered it, but was unsure if it would be approved. I agree it could fit Theron better with his shift in mindset as Blackjack, run it by your team. If Yaz, Killjoy, Dave, and the rest are fine with it I'll use my magical G-Mod powers to make it canon. The Ace Of Spades name stays either way though.

Sincerely,

Dagger

Sam Smith used a Sharpshooter, but Crock is long gone :(

I don't think anyone on the current roster uses one, so if you are willing to replace a finisher or signature move with it, then you can use it.

Ok, let's do The Ace Of Spades as a Sharpshooter instead of an STF. Theron's never used the move under the new name in a show yet. Would that work?

Any names that you plan on backing in the BZT? I have my eye on Bayonetta, Dante, and Alduin. They will be tough to defeat.

Depends on what the final lineup looks like. If Cloud or Link make it, I'll back them to the end and do some debating. From the looks of it so far I'll probably just be voting and not posting, however there's some cool names announced. NorCal's post on Geralt of Rivia certainly caught my attention. I was unfamiliar with Geralt before reading that. Kirby, Bayonetta, Dumbledore, Alucard, Deadpool, and Dante are a few to look out for based on what I saw over in the bios sub-forum.

Speaking of the BattleZone.... Doc, if you're reading this.... How's it feel to be able to delete stuff again for the first time in years?

That's pretty good. I should record my super mario world speed run.

Yeah go for it. I may record a run of that myself. I know I can do it in 20 minutes at this point.

Cloud is a beast. He'd be a contender to win the Supers section for sure.

I would like to see that unscripted rolling you did.

Cool deal. Out of respect for Creative and the work they are putting into the real show I'm gonna post that after the real one's been up.

Absolutely. I got him past Batman one year in a debate with Razor. That was a blast.

Dagger's D&D dice and Rando Cardiceien present....

Unscripted 2016

*Disclaimer: I rolled D20's to get these results and did not take no-show's into account. It was just for fun and will have nothing to do with the actual Unscripted. Winners were determined by rolling a D20 for each competitor, highest roll wins. Champions get a +1 in a title defense. Roll-off's break a tie. The Unscripted stipulations were determined the same way, rolled one dice for each. Then finally the match order was determined by rolling a dice for each match, the lower the number the lower on the card you are, other than the World Championship match which was going to main event no matter what. Enjoy!

Now that Link's been announced I can confirm he has my full support in this whole thing. I'll be doing some debating on his behalf if needed.

Got to the Sacred Grove last night in the Twilight Princess remake. Nearly a full decade later and the music in that area is still arguably the most beautiful track in the entire Zelda series.

Currently hunting for Triforce Shards in Wind Waker HD. Hoping I can beat it in the next couple of weeks and then I'm onto Twilight Princess. Then Skyward Sword.

I hated that part of Wind Waker. I'm hunting Poe Souls in Twilight Princess. Also playing Oracle Of Ages and Link Between Worlds on the side. All are replays except Link Between Worlds. Skyward Sword is on my list but I won't be getting to it anytime soon.

There were parts in Wind Waker that made me pull out my hair. Fetching items across the ocean when warp winds were not available, plus other needless, tedious tasks. Other than that, I enjoyed it until I stopped 3/4 of the way to the finish line. Can't remember why I stopped.

Bonus rant: Zelda has the most boring NPCs in all RPGs. None really stick out and talking to town folk in most Zelda games are quite a bore.
