WWE Extreme Rules 2012 LD - Ground & Pound

Not to complain, but did Cena need to win that? Would've made more sense for Lesnar to win, no?

How does anyone benefit from squashing the company's number 1 guy? It'd make the entirety of the roster irrelevant. If the match were more even, I don't doubt Brock would've won, but the way that match went there was no other way to end it.

Kind of hardcore, hey? So much for the no blood policy, the PG Era restrictions, and the kid friendly product. Just goes to prove that WWE could easily bring back a hardcore aspect to their programming, if they really wanted to.

IMO yes he did. Cena has stolen back some credibility and this will help further Brock Lesnar's character since his return. His intensity and thirst for vengeance should sky rocket.

If Brock had won the match, then the feud is over before it's started. This way Brock has dominated Cena all the way up to the match but Cena has won. It's like Cena's WM promo - nobody remembers second place.

Only have to look at the 2007 Superbowl - do people focus on the Patriots perfect record and how they lost that? No they focus on how the Giants won with a clutch play. This was Cena's clutch play and it's what will be remembered from this match - henceforth likely driving Brock mad with anger.

LOL! Super Cena has returned!

Lesnar seriously kicks his ass for 20+minutes, Cena hits one punch with a chain and the AA and wins. SRSLY?
Brock has no chin. Never has. That's why he kept getting his ass kicked at the end of his MMA Career. He sprinted and jumped into a straight right with a chain. That'll end him, hell it would end most anyone.

This is true. If Vince wanted the blood gone he would have it gone but he was probably like EFF it and it ended up being a fucking sick match.

End confuses me, greatly.

Otherwise, great event. Bryan/Sheamus put on a clinic, I told Sam it wouldn't last 36 seconds and he can kiss my tush.

I know, to think, one match in four years gets a little bit more violent then the others.

Can't wait to see the idiots rolling out the, "Bring back blood," "Is this a new era?" and "WWE going hardcore again!" threads. Pffffft. It was one match, that was enhanced because of it, and Cena seemed to take it the hardway. Brock probably bladed, but Cena took a legit elbow. Big difference. And they tried to clean it up, but the cut wasn't manageable it seems.

You don't have any idea what good chin means. Brock's chin is iron. He was never knocked out and he ate some sick shots in his mma career. His reaction to getting hit leaves a lot to be desired though.

No chin is somebody like Brendan Schaub who goes down on arm punches from marginally talented fat dudes.

Shane Carwin spent five minutes bouncing Brock's head off the mat, then got subbed shortly into round 2. The diverticulitis really slowed Brock down; he really wasn't the same fighter after his illness. I mean more on the mental side than the physical, he was a much more tentative fighter afterwards.

I don't think his chin's exactly amazing, but he gets unfairly maligned for it.

At first I was angry Cena won. But seeing as he's leaving at least until Summerslam I see why he did. Though Lesnar has lost a lot of credibility.

This is what I think is going down. Cena will say that he kayfabe broke his arm in that Kimara on the steel steps (Which obviously he didn't, since he overpowered out of it) He will then say that he is indeed taking some time off and will probably be gone over the summer for some time off to kayfabe heal (When in reality he is just taking a well deserved break) During this time period, Lesnar will run dominant over the WWE and win the WWE Championship, he will retain the title until Cenas return in the fall, Cena will win, and all will be peaceful in the kingdom of WWE.

His reaction to getting hit is poor. He just turtles up. He survived 5 minutes with Carwin so thats a nod to his chin and getting KOed by Cain is nothing to sneeze at. Plus Overeem hit an Uberknee and not many people survive those without pissing blood.

Yeah, his body of work in MMA cannot be compared in any single way shape or form, to his body of work in Pro Wrestling. Besides, you get hit repeatedly in the face by Cain Velasquez on one fight and eat a body knee on the next one. We'll see how it panned out for you.

Yeah it did look like Lesnar bladed Cena's was obviously 100% hardway.

And what the hell was up with the end? If Cena's taking time off, wouldn't it make sense for Brock to destroy him, dominate during the Summer, for Cena to make a triumphant return around Summerslam and have a big money match then?

Not playing fantasy booker here, but it's common sense.

And this sums up the entire Vince/Brock situation perfectly.

I don't really see how Lesnar lost any cred. He dominated that match. He came out looking strong despite the loss

This sounds about right. Film the Marine 3 and take a breather then come back to resume the feud

Awesome main event. It told a great story and the right guy won the right way. Cena was dominated for basically the entire match but he took advantage of Lesnar getting cocky. That's back to back ppv main events where the WWE had that big match feel it hasn't had in years.
