WrestleMania 29 LD - Greatness vs Redemption, Undertaker vs "God," and BROCK SMASH

I thought it was a good Mania, a wrestling fans Mania of sorts.

Taker/Punk was the MOTN. When Taker looked into the stands and saw the people applauding I thought he was going to cry, dude is a warrior if there ever was one. He's not going to retire there, he'll keep going because he knows he can still go, but whenever he does retire the guy has my utmost respect as a fan, true legend in every context of the term. Punk played what seemed like an old school heel to a tee, stealing Taker's moves, mimicking Taker's taunts - hope Punk takes the time off to heal though, seemed banged up even before he hit his knee against the Spanish announce table.

Brock and Triple H was brutal in the good sense. They did a great job of making their match physical in an era where physicality takes that extra mile to convey with the lack of blood and head shots and stuff. They tore into each other and I think the people that'll appreciate that match are the ones who appreciate good workers. When Triple H locked in the Kimura I was reluctant to cheer him but the Sledgehammer, Pedigree on the steps - even in defeat they've again kept Brock looking like the beast he is. He also has a foe in those dreaded steel steps, should probably stay away from here forth.

And the main event was very good. Smarks won't appreciate it but fuck them! Both guys gave it their all. Anyone who thought Cena was turning heel is naive as shit and should probably read up on wrestling and how to continue you need to make money and money is made through your top guys, Cena is that top guy and therefore hes staying just the way he is until someone can fill that void. They really got through how much it meant to both guys to win, loved Cena suckering Rock in and when Rock hit that final Rock Bottom I was on the edge of my seat, thought he had it but Cena prevailed.

I'm happy we got another Cena WWE Championship reign. Been a long time since we had one. Don't know who'll rightfully challenge him with Punk gone for the foreseeable future but with Brock Lesnar booked for Payback maybe Brock is coming for payback against Cena and not Triple H as some assumed. Overall I'm happy with the three main events, enjoyed them.

Undercard was alright. Ryback/Henry disappointed me but watching Ryback lift Henry was a sight. The "Dean Ambrose" chants got a laugh from me. Thought Jericho should have beaten Fandango with the way the match went, they missed a couple spots in that match too. Kane Chokeslamming Dolph Ziggler made me laugh my ass off. I truly just do not see the appeal in Dolph Ziggler, for someone who spoke in media about "stealing the show" the guy did nothing because nobody carried him. And Swagger/ADR was good, thought Swagger would take it but fuck it, really good promo video into that match though.

Again, happy with Mania. Thought they put on a great show and the spectacle aspect of it was phenomenal.

The only time I've ever had floor seats to a wrestling show was a local indy show (of course every seat was floor seats but i was right next to the guard rail about 5th row) and I loved it.

However for a wwe show it'd probably suck. Hell the house show I went to was 400 bucks for floor seats, For 45 I sat much higher up and had a great view.

I had floor seats for a Smackdown.

1. You can barely see the far side of the ring and if something is happening outside, you're screwed.

2. Kane's pyro will give you a heart attack if you're not ready.

3. This guy from some local indy place made me want to kill him. I was on the last seat in the aisle and literally every single time someone came out he insisted on walking past me and getting like four pictures. At one point I looked at him and he gve me this look back as if to say "how rude".

Take this for what you will, but a deaf person on Reddit said this is what Rock and Cena said to one another post match, as she can read lips:

Cena said "from the day I walked into that gym in California when I was 20 years old and I saw you, I knew that's what I wanted to be. I wanted to be WWE Champion. Thank you." Rock replied "This moment, this moment is why I came back. I came back for them, but I came back for you. This moment was for you."

I didn't care for the Punkertaker match. Thought it was a bit of a mess.

Really enjoyed the Triple H/Bork match.

Cena/Rock was the match of the night. I bit on all the false finishes.

I'm going to Extreme Rules and I can't wait.

I'd have probably paid good money to see Rock and Cena literally blow one another. Would have been a lot more fun than whatever that was.

The last 3 matches were pretty decent. Taker and Punk was probably my favorite. Old school match with 2 dudes who just get it. The Triple H Lesnar match was lightyears ahead of the klunker they put on at Summerslam. It was a little more like the war he had with Cena at Extreme Rules only not quite as good.

Rock and Cena didn't match the level they reached last year. The false finishes were decent but the constant finisher reversing and escaping was a bit much. The best part was Cena psyching out Rock with the People's Elbow and getting hit with the Rock Bottom anyway.

Having the show in an open air stadium in the early parts of April in the New fucking London area likely didn't help matters. How cold did it over there?

Don't tell me about your homosexual pornography preferences Coco!
I don't always prefer homosexual pornography. But when I do, it's by virtue of comparison to a somewhat disappointing wrestling event.

As level-headed a reaction as I've ever had.
