OK this is IPW Show 2: Evolution
(Writers note: I admit this will suck simply because i have not had the time to write the matches in as much details as I did before.
So i can only post proper details about the endings, Here goes
Perry Saturn
with John Kronus
vs
Chris Hero
with Claudio Castagnoli, Larry Sweeney and Sara del Ray
Despite the numbers advantage outside the ring, Saturn had Hero under control for most of the match. He worked over Hero's neck and shoulders and kept him restricted to a corner of the ring, which in turn kept him away from Sweeney and any possible interference.
Sweeney's cohorts kept out of the match until one decisive point. Hero barely kicked out of a Saturn Death Valley Driver but when he got trapped in the Rings of Saturn, he had nowhere to go and Castagnoli, Sweeney and Sara del Ray all rushed in causing the referee to call a DQ and a beatdown ensued on the Eliminators.
Result: Perry Saturn by DQ
Giant Super Heavyweight Match
Yokozuna with Mr Fuji
vs
Andre the Giant with Gorilla Monsoon
This was never going to be a lightening quick match but after the Battle Royal at the last show, this was a grudge match of proportions never really seen before.
'Zuna and Andre unleashed massive punches on each other but struggled to knock each other to the mat. Again, it took outside interference to cause a decision.
When Mr Fuji threw powder into the eyes of a reeling Andre, Yokozuna took control with a splash and Banzai drop in the corner. But Andre kicked out.
Frustrated, Mr Fuji handed a chair to his charge. Behind the referees' back, Andre got walloped with it but only fell after he punched Yokozuna through the chair.
The referee returned and enforced a ten count. Neither man answered and following the bell, paramedics attended to both.
Result: Double Knock out
Light Heavyweight Tournament Semi Final
Petey Williams
vs
KENTA
Maple Leaf Muscle, the Canadian Destroyer, call him what you will but Petey Williams was unable to cope with the spectacular offence that KENTA offered in this match. The audience sensed it would come down to the amazing and innovative finishers that both men possessed.
The Go 2 Sleep vs the Canadian Destroyer.
Both wriggled out of the set up on a couple of occasions. But KENTA's fate was sealed when Scott D'Amore appeared from underneath the ring and grabbed his foot. It was enough to stall an unbelievable spell of cruiserweight offence and for Petey Williams to hit the always amazing Canadian Destroyer.
Result: Petey Williams by pinfall.
Light Heavyweight Tournament Semi Final
Jushin Thunder Liger
vs
Tiger Mask
This second light heavyweight match offered an incredible insight into wrestling from the Orient.
Liger had control of this match but was unable to put away Tiger Mask despite unleashing most of his creative attack, including a running sit out Liger Bomb.
In the end it was a top rope Brainbuster that led to a pinfall in the centre of the ring.
Result: Jushin Thunder Liger by pinfall.
This means the match to decide the Light Heavyweight title will be Petey Williams vs Jushin Thunder Liger.
Euro-Continental Title match
The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase
vs
American Dragon Brian Danielson
The story of this encounter seemed to be about the respective submission hold of each man. Yet both seemed to avoid attempting it for the first few minutes, preferring to exchange suplexes.
Following twenty minutes of excellent technical exchanges, it was a missed Roaring Elbow attempt that led to Dibiase trying lock in the Million Dollar Dream.
Danielson refused to tap and even escaped it by reaching the ropes. Following this it was Danielsons' attempts at Cattle Mutilation that brought an end to the match.
Dibiase escaped the immediate attempt yet Danielson seemed inspired by this, manouvering into the Triangle choke and striking Trillionaire Ted with several elbows strikes to the head. It seemed only inevitable that the newly created Euro-Continental title would be heading to the waist of American Dragon.
It was not to be as this attack brought out the Kings of Wrestling to Dibiases' aid. While Castagnoli and Hero climbed the ring apron and distracted the referee, Sweeney rang around the ring and grabbed the Million Dollar Belt that Dibiase wore to the ring.
Danielson saw this and released the hold. He went to the edge of the ring and bent over the top rope to grab Sweeney. Sweeney saw this coming and clocked Danielson, knocking him unconscious cutting him open in the process.
With Dragon laid out on the floor, Dibiase crawled over and got the three count
Result: The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase by pinfall.
Hardcore Title - Barbed Wire Rope match
Foley
vs
Haku
vs
Awesome
vs
Abyss
This match was spectacular in the unprecedented blood letting. Even by Foleys' and Abyss's standards, it was gruesome. Awesome and Haku dominated with their power moves but the damage taken by Foley and Abyss was incredible and they were unable to secure a pinfall.
The end came when Mike Awesome attempted to repeat the powerbomb he delivered to Abyss last week. The Monster slid off this time and slumped into the corner. Foley turned the big man round and nailed him with a barbed wire 2x4, followed by a Double Arm DDT on it.
Abyss got up, picked up Foley and dropped him with a Black Hole Slam through a table set up in the corner. Then he clobbered Haku with a chair before pinning Mike Awesome for the win.
Result: Abyss by pinfall.
Iron Man Match - 30 mins
Shawn Michaels
vs
Samoa Joe
Everyone knew this would be an absolute classic; contrasting looks and styles but two of the best in the world.
Joe got on top early on with his power, trapping HBK in holds and not allowing him to get any momentum. HBK realised he could not match Joe in the amateur wrestling style, knowing that he poses a similar threat to what Kurt Angle posed at WrestleMania 22, when he got drawn into wrestling Angles' style of match.
Unfortunately for HBK, every attempt to quicken the pace was met by a clothesline or a suplex from Joe, who was clearly on top for a good ten minutes in. Yet neither were able to secure pinfall.
It was not until 15 minutes in, that a decision occured. Joe was attempting to lock HBK in a Muscle Buster which HBK fought off. As Joe turns back, HBK managed to connect with a snap super kick.
1...2...3
1-0 HBK
Joe came out fighting to equalise and HBK even chose to roll away on a couple of occasions to buy some time. HBK could pick and choose his spots with the lead and it was another Sweet Chin Music attempt that led to the match being equalised.
Joe reversed it into an STF, which had HBK almost tapping. After a few seconds, it was equalised as Joe switched the STF into the Kokina Clutch. HBK tapped immmediately with seven minutes to go.
1-1
The remaining time was filled with incredible action and near falls. HBK nailed an Elbow Drop and Joe bust open Michaels above the eye with elbow strikes to the head which almost caused the referee to stop the match.
With a clock ticking with a minute to go, the match was decided.
As Joe had HBK struggling in a standing Rear Naked Choke. HBK dropped to his knees, almost stunning Joe. As Joe bounced off the ropes, he came back with a clothesline. HBK ducked under this. As Joe turned round he got caught with another Sweet Chin Music.
Both men fell and at one point it looked like neither would answer the count. But HBK crawled over and laid a slumped arm over the neck of Joe.
1...2...3
As Joe began to stir, he could hear the bell ring, signalling the end of the match.
HBK is the Number One contender for the IPW World Heavyweight title.
What Shawn did not see as he pinned Joe is Edge strolling up to the ring.
Edge is accompanied by the GM Stephanie McMahon, the Euro-Continental champion the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase and the Kings of Wrestling, the IPW Tag Team champions Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli.
The four men surrounded the ring and circled the exhausted HBK, before proceeding to beat the living crap out of HBK, including shots with the title belt. HBK is left bleeding profusely in the middle of the ring with the Corporate Alliance standing over him.
