USA Presidential Elections 2012 LD

What astounds me about the whole process is that Romney can complain about the 47% that will never vote for him and yet allow his party to dictate his policies and thought processes in order to cater to the other 47% who were always going to vote for him rather than those undecided voters or disillusioned Democrats.

This is really an election that on past history, Romney or whoever the Republican candidate was should have walked. However, so thoroughly has the GOP lurched towards the gun-totting lunatics on the far flung fringes that it makes them exceedingly difficult for those whose politics occupy the middle ground.

The Romney campaign guy was grinning ear to ear about how Romney is going to win every single swing state. His optimism made me hate that campaign even more.

The CNN field reporters all have this sexy librarian vibe going on. It's very distracting.

I've decided to start rooting for Jill Stein to make an improbable comeback.

Anything less will result in my bitter disappointment and a night drinking.

No, this is not an excuse to get hammered tonight.

Leaving this here for no particular reason.

Two bottles of coke, copious snacks. Election coverage starts in 26 minutes. I'm ready.

This comment was absolutely despicable.

"Republicans were drawing attention to the image Tuesday morning, with one Mitt Romney spokesman tweeting: "Voters in Philly's Ward 35 are being forced to cast their ballots next to this." "

Yes, how terrible that voters in Philly are being "forced" to cast their ballots next to our current President and fellow American, an image drawn in a school 3 years ago.

How deep does the racist hate go?

So the early results from Kentucky show Romney comfortably ahead in that state. What the hell is wrong with those guys from Kentucky?

:)

Theoretically, it's possible for both candidates to end up with 269 electoral college votes. What would happen in that instance?

The House votes on it, but it's one vote per state. If my memory is right, if that ties, the Speaker of the House becomes President. Yes, as in John Boehner.

The house of representatives would vote and the senate would vote for the VP.

As the house of representatives is Republican majority they'd vote Romney and the Senate is democrat so they'd vote for Joe Biden.

Romney/Biden would be the greatest thing to ever happen to this country. I mean sure, it might be our demise, but it would be hilarious.

According to CNN as of right now, more Republicans have voted for Obama than Liberals have voted for Romney. That's probably a good thing.

I'm very nervous about all of this. Romney is already setting up for his victory party, probably as a mind game.

The quote the BBC said was "It would make the healthcare debate look like Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade"

Hey Brits, apparently this picture is from 1974:

Christine "I Am Not A Witch" O'Donnell had one ready two years ago and she got crushed. Everyone does that.

What coverage are you guys watching anyway? I just put it on MSNBC because it's the first channel I found. I don't know where the news channels are on this fucking thing.

CNN. MSNBC might be more reassuring, but I don't want to be coddled.
