Ok, good for him. See, the marketing is working. In other words, Hatton could be out here making cookies and your friend would watch. Why would Vince want to make his big names look weak for a guy that's likely never going to be associated with him again? That makes no sense.
He's not going to watch again though. Considering he doesn't take ratings from over here into account, only PPV buys on Sky Box Office, he's not going to see this as a success/
You mean the same shit match that almost every guest host has had for the last 2-3 months, meaning that Hatton is considered just the same as they are, as it should be? Yeah, that's about right.
Personally, I have hardly known any of the other hosts. I don't give a shit about them. I also don't think Jermey Piven or whoever can hold his own in a wrestling ring. I do believe, however, that Hatton could.
So watching two guys punch each other without the ability to throw a kick, or try to improve their position to win a fight is interesting to you?
Yeah, of course. I don't know what it's like where you're from, but if I see a fight in the street, it's punches being thrown, none of the grappling. Yes, I know this is wrestling we're watching, but it's not a sport at all.
MMA fights are also more than just "two minute hugging fights on the floor". You're obviously misinformed. And besides, that comment was in response to your comment that Americans don't watch boxing because there hasn't been a major heavyweight in 10 years. I responded that it didn't matter because MMA is more popular nowadays anyway because it's more fast paced and not a snoozefest like Boxing is. Try to keep up.
And I said, let's see if another heavyweight comes alone from your Land, and THEN see what you all say. If you all say "who cares?" then i'll concede, if people hail it as a success then I'll be right.
And this is the first time a lot of fans here have been exposed to Hatton. Your argument is that the WWE should have picked some poor soul to get involved in a boxer/wrestler match and have it do absolutely nothing for his career. Mayweather/Big Show was a huge deal here because Mayweather is the only mainstream boxer left the American public cares about, and his PPV buyrates are usually around the 1 million mark. They picked Chavo, because that's the guy who wouldn't really be hurt as far as getting KO'ed by Hatton goes.
For the most part, the only people who care about Hatton are in England. Nobody gives a shit about him in America, and to have him knock out anyone but Chavo would have been stupid and pointless. Deal with it.[/QUOTE]
