Survivor 31

Russell Hantz is the worst player of all tiiiiiiiiiime. He does not see the flaaaaaaaw in his own gaaaaame.

The first time russel played he was an entertaining villain (not good player there is a difference) and he had to be because he was on the minority, the second time no. Kass wasnt in this situation.

So the only way a villain can be entertaining is if they're in the minority? That's pretty much the opposite of what makes a good villain.

no i was talking specifically why russel wasnt terrible the 1st time. I dont even consider Kass a villain she was just in over her head and didnt have street smarts. A villain for me is someone who uses dirty tactics to keep control of the game, in that sense Tony was more of a villain than Kass and it was why Russel was entertaining in his first season

So my top three are Spencer, Joe, and Jeremy in no particular order. Those were my favorites in their particular seasons and they're my favorites again...especially since Edward Norton got the axe, he was probably number four.

When I originally heard it was Edward Norton getting voted off, I was pretty upset. I was spoiled by accident because of a website putting it right in their title. I was worried Spencer was on the wrong side of the vote, but after I watched it I saw Spencer actually voted Vytas out. That makes me feel a lot better about it, I'm not sure what his reasoning was because it seemed like he wanted Abi out too.

Either way, Abi's time on the island is very limited I hope.

Still can't stand Kass, Abi, or Woo. Though Woo I'm expecting to make it to the merge and then be an early post merge boot. Abi I'm hoping is gone once that tribe loses again. Kass I don't know she has a talent for weaseling her way into staying longer...same with Abi too...but I'm those two are the next two boots.

Kass was absolutely a villain. She was arrogant, cruel, delusional, condescending, and an all-round bitch. She flipped people off, cursed people out, and she doomed her alliance in one fell swoop just because she didn't like a few of the members. In doing that, she had more control over her fate than anyone in the game, apart from Tony. She made a move that not only guaranteed the sinking of an alliance of people who would beat at the end, but also secured her place deep into the game by being somebody that people would want to sit next to at the end. It definitely wasn't a great strategy to win, but I don't think there was anyone out there that Kass could genuinely beat, and I mean that before she even flipped. But in doing what she wanted, she turned a 4th or 5th place finish, into very nearly a 2nd place finish.

Tony was just an anti-hero. He didn't use any dirty tactics. He lied, and voted out the threats, something that shouldn't be considered dirty in Survivor after this many years. But people really liked Tony, both his fellow players and the fans, and that disqualifies him from being a villain.

Also, Russell was in way over his head, as well. That's why he got torn to shreds in all three of his seasons, whether it was at Final Tribal, or in episode three.

"I respect this game too much. That's why the core format should be changed so I can win."

One of the unseen moments in Russell's second season shows exactly why he can never win this game.

During HvV Coach gives Russell the chain and cross that he wears around his neck. Since Coach loves Jesus this would be a huge sign of friendship between the two and form an unbreakable bond, right?

Russell not only has him voted out but he gives the cross to Rupert later in the game to try and win him over! What the fuck did Russell think was going to happen once Rupert shows up to Ponderosa with the cross that Coach gave to Russell? Did I not mention that Coach loves Jesus and Russell has not only disrespected Coach but also the thing Coach loves most?

Worst player of all tiiiime.

That also shows why Coach is not a good player either. To think that someone like Russel isnt going to lie to you is stupid

I see what you are saying, but at best Kass is a shit villain. All the best villains, russel included, control the game to get themselves to the final 3 or 2. Its why they usually come unstuck at the end because they end up crossing everyone. Look at Boston Rob, it took him 3 goes to win it (he still needed a bunch of morons to do it) and in his first go he ended up screwing himself but he did get the last laugh on the jury though to be fair

Well depending who you ask lying is a dirty tactic, basic lying isnt for me. However, Tony tried to deny that he was a cop then in secret swore that he was and swore on his badge, that was a dirty tactic to me.

At least with Russel you could tell he had an idea of what he was doing he just didnt realise that it wasnt going to work in the long run. His focus was too much on getting to the end and not winning.

Coach and the other 18 people had never seen him play before. They had no clue who the guy was or how he played the game.

It's so stupid on Russell's part because you know Coach is going to be on the jury, so why give the cross to Rupert who is also going to be on the jury? Rupert turns up to Ponderosa with the cross and you get something like this.

Coach: Hey, where did you get that cross?
Rupert: Russell gave it to me, made a promise on the life of his kids and then gave me this.
Coach: That's my cross! I gave it to him before the bastard voted me out.
Rupert: What a prick.

Two votes down the toilet for no good reason other than Russell wanting to embarrass Coach, who is already voted out of the game!

ok that makes a bit more sense, didn't know that they filmed HvV before Samoa aired

If you watch Samoa he mentions that he should be playing with All-Stars/superstars. I can't remember which term he uses but it leads many to believe that he may have been asked back during the filming of Samoa. He was back for like two weeks before they left for HvV.

Russell walked into HvV thinking he won Survivor: Samoa. He got to play the same game. Nobody had any previous encounters with him, he made everyone hate him just like he did the first time. His game in HvV only proves how much he sucks at the game.

It also explains why he is so upset at the Samoa finale because at that point he knows that his second game is stuffed and loses the game that he thought was in the bag.

It's why I think his second game is overrated because he walked into an All-Stars season with a huge advantage over everyone. If people had seen Samoa than JT doesn't give him the idol and Amanda Kimmel finally wins Survivor. Unfortunately Russell was back for like two weeks, so it wasn't like Season 8 when people had seen a few episodes and knew how Rupert played.

If JT doesn't give Russell the idol, and the Heroes gain the advantage, Amanda still doesn't win. She loses to Sandra, after recruiting Sandra to help take out JT/Colby/Rupert. Ends up with an Amanda/Sandra/Candice final 3, where Sandra wins 5-4-0.

Because Sandra.

Although, if everyone had seen Samoa, Boston Rob would've made sure to get rid of Russell on Day 6. God knows what would've happened after that.

I find Kass far more interesting than another generic Alpha narcissist who plays and overly aggressive game, and then loses the jury vote. That's why I think she's a great villain. Because she's so unique.

Also, it took Rob 4 goes to win.

What one am I missing?
-His original season where he came second (I cant remember where it was)
-Heroes vs Villains
-The one he won (which is one of the worst seasons I have ever seen)

Season 4: Marquesas, came 10th (I think?)
Season 8: All-Stars, came 2nd.
Season 20: Heroes vs. Villains, came 14th (I think?)
Season 22: Redemption Island (Won)

To be fair, in HvV nobody had seen Russel's first season yet and they had no idea what a jackass he was. Look how things worked out for him in his third season when everybody knew to get rid of him immediately.

I think she was higher up on the Heroes tribe than Colby was and had a better relationship with JT and Rupert. She doesn't need to bring in Sandra because at final five her, JT and Rupert just vote out Colby. Amanda probably wins the final immunity challenge like she always does and they get rid of Candice.

Amanda/JT/Rupert final 3.

Coach - votes for JT
Courtney - votes for Amanda
Parvati - votes for Amanda
Russell - votes for JT

Danielle - votes for Amanda (Was unsure about this one)
Jerri - votes for Amanda or JT
Sandra - votes for Amanda or Rupert
Colby - votes for JT
Candice - votes for Amanda or JT

After going through the jury it's probably a win for JT if my final three takes place. I have no doubt that Amanda walks into the final tribal council with two votes locked up and JT has Coach and Russell since he's never going to vote for a girl to beat him. JT can't do the same speech of being the poor country boy like he did his first season so I like Amanda's chances going up against millionaire JT. It's a flip of the coin for me after giving it some thought, I could see both JT and Amanda winning.

Tonight was just another example of book smart people who think they can be strategic failing to understand the human part of the game

Terry Deitz was impressive during this episode. Hopefully he and Abi-Maria can stay together after the switch.

Winner pick looking a bit sick during the episode. We better not be setting up a quit or anything like that.

Fishbach is still fucked and Jeff Varner is television gold.

Season 4: Marquesas, came 10th (I think?)
Season 8: All-Stars, came 2nd.
Season 20: Heroes vs. Villains, came 14th (I think?)
Season 22: Redemption Island (Won)

To be fair Boston Rob should've won All-Stars, he just didn't care if his future wife won cause he'd get the money anyway and knew she wouldn't be asked to play again. Happy wife, happy life.

Also glad the tribes are getting switched up next episode, I'd hate to see Spencer get eliminated so early. Hoping Spencer, Ciera and Joe get put together and make an alliance. Also hoping Kass ends up getting the boot next.

To hear that Spencer and Shirin hadnt had conversations with Woo (which would probably mean that they hadnt had conversations with multiple people) boggles my mind like how dumb can you be. And for Shirin to turn around and be like "I'll offer you what ever deal you want" are you fucking stupid? You are on the way out and have nothing to offer

Boring episode. Too much of the people i like least (fucking Abithon). A bunch of crying and whining. Horrible that they would make a challenge where people would inevitably get hurt. But glad to see Shirin gone.
