Sully, are you fucking ******ed?

There is a difference though. You can choose which religion you want to be a part of, but you can't just wake up one morning and say "I think I'm going to be sexually attracted to men" and the next morning say the opposite thing. It just doesn't work like that when it comes to people's sexuality.

Another thing, in religion you have beliefs. You can choose a religion based on its beliefs. It's not the same way for people's sexuality.

You're missing my point, I think with some people can make the choice, the vast majority don't but to insist that all don't make the choice is just as bad as saying all do.

Sully, stop talking before the hole you are digging yourself into gets too deep to climb out of (it's dangerously close now).

Shut the fuck up. You have me on your ignore list, IGNORE ME. I would have to be officially ******ed to take any form of advice from you.

And you're officially not trolling with this topic, you are just fucking stupid.

Ironic, isn't it?

Don't be nice to Sully. Verbally assault him (with hatred AND facts) until he comes to his fucking senses.

The big mean bullies at school are still going to take your lunch money, insulting me over the internet isn't going to improve your actually life any better, not will it stop your father from beating you.

Regardless of ones opinion on homosexuality, comparing it to pedophilia is wrong.

Hey! Fuckhead! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_paraphilias

Both homosexuality and pedophilia are on that list. Which means they are comparable.

com·pa·ra·ble/ˈkämp(ə)rəbəl/Adjective
1. (of a person or thing) Able to be likened to another; similar.
2. Of equivalent quality; worthy of comparison.

The same reason someone would choose to be a christian and live a life of scrutiny and prejudice?

That's a horrible analogy. There's no promise of eternal salvation if you decide to be a homosexual, and there's no threat of burning in hell if you decide not to be gay.

No it's not a horrible anaology.

Yes, yes it is, and I've already proved it.

Christianity
  • Promises eternal salvation for its followers
  • Promises etenral damnation for all those that don't follow their rules and laws
  • Acticely recruits new members
  • Make up the majority in many countries in which they practice and have a very strong influence on some governments, including the US government
  • Are not denied any rights based on their beliefs

Homosexuality
  • No promise of eternal salvation for becoming a homosexual
  • No threat of eternal damnation for not becoming a homosexual
  • Does not recruit new members
  • Is an overwhelming minority in every country in the world.
  • Are denied basic rights simply for their lifestyle

Please explain to me how that is a good analogy in any way.

No, i mean the homosexualtiy/christianity thing

Lee brought up the point that some homosexuals choose to be homosexuals. I went with the age old argument, "Why would a person choose to be gay and live a life of scrutiny and prejudice?" Lee responded, "Why would a person choose to be Christian and live a life of scrutiny and prejudice."

Then I schooled him.

And Lee, name one developed country where Christians are denied rights based on their beliefs?

What rights are Christians denied, at least in America and other major countries around the world Lee. Please tell me.

Christian people can still marry, they can still file for taxes jointly, gay people can be fired from a job just because they are gay therefore not having job security, and there are many more rights gay people aren't guaranteed that Christians are. So please tell me Lee, what rights are Christians denied?

Um yea, being gay sure as shit aint a choice. Feel free to graduate past an 8th grade mentality. to say homosexuality is a choice is to say heterosexuality is a choice.

Im not attracted to other boys. I just simply, am not. There is no choice involved.

Thanks for being the voice of reason.

Like I said earlier, if being gay or straight was a choice then I know some of my gay friends would instantly "choose" to be straight just to stop the name calling and harassment.

The United Kingdom.

can gays vote? Yup, can christians? Yup

Can gays marry? Yup. Can Christians? Yup.

Can gays adopt? Yup. Can Christians? Not by the case of a couple weeks ago.

By law does homosexuality have to be taught in schools? Yup. Does christianity? Nope and unless you're in a christian school it's actively frowned upon.

What about applying for a job? Christian says they're christian, employers says no. Why? That fucker will want Sundays off. Homosexuality? No eyelid battered.

Active christians in the UK 2% active and homosexuals? 10%

Yes it used to be the case even 5-10 years ago that that wouldn't happen, but to suggest christians are not persucuted for their belief's is absurd. It may be different over there in the states, and I'm 90% sure it is. But over here it's like that.

EDIT: And for fuck sake, I said it was a choice sometimes, with more often than not it not being a choice. Do I need to clarify that stance again?

I said sometimes there is a choice, which there is. The majority of time (as I already said) it's not a choice, but to say this is always the case is just silly. Heck even Jesus himself said people were born gay (matt 19:11-13)
