WWE Champion - Triple Hayge
There's no doubt Triple H is one of the best performers WWE has ever had or will ever have. However, his current WWE Championship reign is stale and lacks the intensity that he's brought to every WWE/World Heavyweight Championship reign he's had in the past. Lots of other guys could benefit from holding the WWE title, and Triple H has pretty much done everything there is to do. But we know that as long as he has his "connections" that he'll keep refusing to put 90% of the roster over until he's 64. There also haven't been any exciting feuds for the championship after Orton was injured. The Night of Champions match between him and Cena was a pretty great match though. But all in all, the reign has been slow, uninteresting and at times, it looks like WWE Creative forgets that they have a champion. Drop as soon as possible.
United States Champion - Shelton Benjamin
Shelton Benjamin has all the in-ring skills needed to rise to the top of this business - too bad he has the mic skills and charisma of a swamp larva. He's eventually managed to win me over with his fantastic performances, especially since becoming United States Champion - he manages to, together with his opponents, wrestle PPV quality matches on regular Friday Night shows. Definitely the best champion on SmackDown right now, and possibly the entire WWE. Props to Shelton!
WWE Tag Team Champions - Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder
I have remarked countless times before that booking Miz and Morrison to lose their titles was a mistake. I thought giving them to Finlay & Hornswoggle would be bad for WWE's already failing tag team division, but not half as bad as giving them to Hawkins and Ryder. These guys have never been anything special, as the Major Brothers they were generic and almost never appeared on TV. When they became Hawkins and Ryder, they were relegated to doing jobs for Edge and do run-ins. In short, a team with no credibility at all. WWE have done nothing to improve on this since they won the titles, and I doubt they will. Please drop the titles back to Miz and Morrison or some other team that can actually benefit the WWE.
Divas Champion - Michelle McCool
Err, what? There's a Divas Championship? Huh, who'd have thunk it. Not your average viewer, at least. Giving the first ever Divas Championship reign to Michelle, who's an alright wrestler, but far from good, instead of Natalya was the second booking mistake at the Great American Bash. Natalya could have brought something to it. On Michelle, it's just a gaudy belt. Worth nothing. No history, no momentum, no credibility, no nothing. I still Michelle's relationship with a certain Deadman has something to say here, but who am I to judge? I just judge on what I see, and Natalya deserved that championship 5 times more than Michelle ever did or will do.
