I think it's sting because the timing has never been better for him to join the wwe than right now. Sting could sign a deal like hbk where he doesn't have to wrestle as much and can veto any storyline he feels goes against his beliefs. As for wrestlemania I hope it's sting vs. hbk and not the taker. Hbk and Sting could have a great match and the build up could be great. Imagine the two most loyal employees of the monday night wars finally locking up.

HBK/Sting would be great also, but I think HBK is pretty serious about his retirement, and he doesn't want to cheapen his match with Undertaker at last year's WrestleMania.

There is NO CHANCE IN HELL that this isn't the Undertaker. He will return on Raw because it's the first show on the "Road To Wrestlemania" and he's going to destroy the Nexus. He'll destroy them based on principle and then go to SD and destroy the Corre. It's another let down build up by Vince and the creative geniuses in Stamford to bring back the oldest wrestling relic in the world. Sting will NEVER be in a WWE ring, EVER!

Now i know this is possibly going to sound stupid, but i very much doubt it's the undertaker, for two reasons.

1. WWE hypes his return anyway letting the universe know he is going to be coming back

2. If it was to promote Taker's return, would it not have been walking through a graveyard or something? and not walking into a house?

also on a quick note look at the boots this guy is wearing in the video.....they dont look like undertaker boots to me!

The first show on the "Road to Wrestlemania" was the day after Royal Rumble...Lol

yeah HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The next pay per view has The King vs the Wiz for the WWE Title. These Raw's are a WASTE. 2/21/11 is the real start of the Road To Wrestlemania when they run meaningful storylines. They're not going to waste the Undertaker before an awful PPV and risk him getting hurt by coughing or something. They roll out the big storylines the Raw starting AFTER Elimination Chamber.

All the answers that you need are right here.

Plus how many times have they changed Takers look? No way Sting comes to the E. I think he's done at this point unless he goes back to TNA. I'm the biggest Sting fan but seriously, he's not E bound. Even though he is HOF material for all he's done in this industry.

I would never thought of Sting while seeing the video if it hadn't already been suggested by people online. The only person on the roster that makes me think of is Taker. The 1st thing I think of is Red Dead Redemption. My wife thought of Taker and she's only been watching wrestling for a year! Why would anybody think of Sting?

Stopped taking your post seriously right there. :lmao:
Are you trying to claim validity of it being Taker, by using your wife's opinion, as someone who's only watched wrestling for a year?

And, as to why people think its Sting, clearly, have you seen Sting's promos?
His interviews, Starrcade 97 promo, hell, even one of his matches?
Black boots, black trenchcoat, rain, lightning, thunder.
Taker's return videos were far less subtle.

I'll go with my gut and say the video isn't about Taker, but Taker will still be there that night, but not alone.
And if its Sting, I will MTFO like other nostalgic wrestling fans.
Sting's the reason I got into wrestling in the first place, back in early 1997.

Just to clear something up for you the Chamber Matches are the real selling point of the PPV not Miz/King even though Im looking forward to that Match also.

Also how are these RAWs a "waste" considering the Royal Rumble is the start of the Road To Wrestlemania? I still think it may be Sting,Taker may be there also but possibly not by himself.

Did anyone c the front page of Wrestlezone? It says that Dave Meltzer has reported that Sting & WWE have had no contact while a "friend" of Stings hasnt confirmed nor denied the rumors. I dunno what to believe. It could all be a way of keeping things under wraps as a surprise since we all r suspecting/expecting the promo/return to be Sting.

In a perfect world, on 2-21-11, The Undertaker will enter the ring to cut a promo on how he's back for revenge on Barrett and his group for burying him alive, leading us to believe that the 2-21-11 vignettes really were just to promote Takers return. BUT, as Taker's talking, that commercial appears on the titan tron and the lights dim. As takers staring at the screen, Stings music hits, the crowd pops, and Sting lowers from the rafters to the ring and stands behind Undertaker pointing a bat at his back. Taker turns and they have a face to face staredown. Sting points the bat to the mania banner and ascends back up to the rafters with Taker looking up to the sky. Sting doesnt speak, doesn't attack him or anything like that. He just shows up, makes his point, and leaves.

If that happens, I am going to have a mark attack and have to be hospitalized. :lmao:

Meltzer? The same guy that reported Lesnar wanted to go back to WWE and have a match at WrestleMania even though Lesnar stated he never wanted to do that? Eh, I wouldn't listen to anything he says. There is no way Vince will let this signing news leak anyway.....by the way this is my first login since 2006. Jeez.

Agreed. I'm not gonna deny that Meltzer keeps his ear close to the grapevine, but it's, well, the grapevine. Rumors. There's also rumors that Sting has in fact signed with TNA again, but I figure if that were true than he would have done in time for the whole "They" segment to pan out. But whatever.

That's EXACTLY what I'm doing, and you just helped me do it. You brought up Sting's promo's from '97. Anyone BORN in 97 is 13/14 years old right now. Anyone old enough to remember seeing those promos is about 18 years old.
Next time you watch WWE on TV or better yet go to a show live, count how many fans are under 18. Count how many are under 14. People who are newer to WWE are who they market to! Besides that, the only ex WCW talent WWE debuted with serious acknowledgement of them being from somewhere besides WWE since the Invasion were Scott Steiner and Goldberg. There's NO WAY Sting is introduced as in ring talent without there first being a Best of Sting DVD set coming first.

Given the information received the past few days leads me to believe that there is something going on with Sting. Given the fact that Barrett or Kane have not even addressed the issues with this promo on Smackdown as they are having Barrett concentrate on the Big Show makes me think more that there is something more than this being Undertaker. Given also the fact that Kane did not mention anything either makes this interesting. I come to think of the fact that Vince signed Bischoff the day he debuted 2003 and that came out of left field. Until I hear of see it from the horse's mouth I'm still feeling that this is Sting unless this is proved otherwise.

I went over to wwe.com and looked on the live event page. I went to the 2.21.11 Raw to see if it said anything about the promo. It didn't so I clicked on the more info thing at the bottom and "The return of The Undertaker" was highlighted in yellow. Of course this could be totally wrong but it seems very credible.

Another reason I don't think its Sting is why would he do it now? Other than to be inducted, I see no reason why he would finally cave in now.

Regardless of whether the current product is geared towards a younger audience or not, that won't stop the media buzz that this is generating.
And said media buzz is bringing back older fans to the product.

Good point but that buzz was started before the promo aired, if they did have Sting the best way to capitalize on said buzz would be to come out give the older fans what they want up front instead of stringing them along. They could even do the same promo but have it say "STING 2.21.11" at the end. Then the old fans are pumped, old fans w/ kid are getting their kids pumped, and new fans are still intrigued.

Remember how special it was to see Hogan back in WWE at No Way Out even though he had been in wrestling the whole time he was gone? You don't need Sting to be a surprise to have his WWE debut be totally awesome.

Well, we'll find out in the next few weeks.
Maybe there'll be another vignette tomorrow night, with more info.
Lets hope its executed properly, whatever happens.

I'd love it to be Sting, cause that could be an AWESOME match at mania and save us from possibly seeing barrett vs taker, but im almost 100 percent its just takers return. Its night after the chamber which makes sense to not put him in chamber and risk his health before mania, also on the stadium website it says the return of the undertaker in bold. also the video of the 2/21/11 on hulu is called He's Coming Back! Sting was never in WWE and nore was Kong. I hope for a bigger suprsie but its most likely just taker

Here's the thing.
There's already plenty of reports of Taker being there that night.
I don't see them going through the trouble of keeping 2/21/11 quiet if there are already reports of him returning.
There's gotta be more to it than that.

And if there's a 2/21/11 video on hulu that says "He's Coming Back," that would have to be fanmade.
The only official video is the one they aired on Raw, and the only info we were given is the date "2/21/11."
It doesn't say its a debut, doesn't say its a return, and doesn't mention anything other than the date.

To me, with Taker coming back that night ON RAW, where he's not suppose to be, speculates Sting even more on being on Raw that night also.

I am nowhere near convinced this is Sting, and that's unfortunate. I would love to see him make the final run of his career in WWE, because right now, they are the most popular company around. Sting deserves a grand exit.

But, I'm even more convinced this isn't The Undertaker. Here are some reasons why:

1. This vignette is a mystery. You have no idea who it is, and I think that was the point of it. When has WWE ever disguised the return of The Undertaker? I can't remember a Taker return that didn't begin with lights going out, bells ringing, lighting striking, etc. Besides the long, black coat, this vignette didn't scream Undertaker, at all.

2. Not only did the vignette not seem like Taker's style, he wouldn't need it! He's The Undertaker! Anytime Undertaker returns, which is usually once per year now, you know right away that it's him. Why? Because his presence alone is enough to sell a PPV, especially Mania. Why would they hide Taker's identity leading up to Mania? It just doesn't make any sense.

3. If it were Taker, why would he show up on Raw? Forget the internet speculation about an impending match with Barrett at Mania, that's not concrete enough to hold water. The point I'm making is that Taker already has two ready-made feuds waiting for him on Smackdown. I am betting if he's feuding with anyone, it's going to be Barrett, but don't forget about Kane. Taker making his big return on Raw just wouldn't make any sense.

There are many other reasons, I'm sure, why someone could not bring himself to believe this is Taker. I just don't buy it. I'm not confident that it's going to be Sting either, but Taker just wouldn't make much sense.

Taker wouldn't male sense hes might face Barrett on SD, so he would return to SD. I know the promos dont make sense, but HHH is due to return. maybe him??

It's Taker....The commercial gave it away. In the commercial a song plays saying "Ain't no grave gonna hold me down." Something like that...I'm pissed as fuck

yep. The Johnny Cash song revealed it.

Not that upset about it...I thought the whole Sting thing was a stretch.
