Sting vs Undertaker...52 vs 46

People always talk about "Jobbing" or "laying down" to Undertaker at Wrestlemania, but if there is one match where Sting could come in, lose, and come out looking stronger than ever then it is in a Streak match. Look at what this years Wrestlemania has done for HHH, he has arguably come out of that match looking stronger than ever, got his Wrestlemania moment AND HE LOST!!!!

Whos to say Sting didnt come out of his "match" with Jeff Hardy, then watch Wrestlemania and think "Wow id love to have a piece of that"....wait, isnt that what he alluded to in the interview??

I said it during the hysteria of WM27 that Sting wouldnt come to WWE to lose to Undertaker - his first match and laying down for Taker? Keep dreaming. Sting has never joined WWE because he wants to protect his legacy and he has seen other WCW talents buried.

Sting has a 1 year deal that will probably end in TNA a month or so before WM28. If you want to get Sting on the WM card he has to face somebody else and win OR he has to Tag with Taker against a faction or something (handicap match would create doubt).

Thing is with Taker and WM matches, its pretty much nailed on he will win a singles bout. A tag bout might be something a little bit different. Plus there would always be a chance his Tag partner could be pinned which would cause a loss.

If Sting and Taker are to get it on, then Sting needs to be in WWE and get some matches under his belt. Go on a streak and build a bit of credibility first.

As for the above poster, comparing Triple H to Sting is daft. We all know Triple H, we all know what he has achieved in a WWE ring, thats loss didnt harm him one bit. Sting is completely different because alot of the new generation fans will never of heard of him. He loses? People lose interest staright away and he is a jobber straight from the off.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I could care less for 2 50 year olds stumbling around the ring for 30 minutes. 1 of them would need to do the majority of the work and that wouldn't happen. Plus the new gen audience (who make up a lot of the audience) would be thinking 'who's this guy I know nothing about, he's got no chance against the mighty taker'. Do not do this match EVER. 4-5 years ago, absolutely, but not now.

From Sting's latest interview where he said "I'm not going to lie to you -- who wouldn't want to say that they did 'Wrestlemania' at least one time?" Borden said Tuesday in a telephone interview. "It's the ultimate event in wrestling. It's still in the back of my mind that there's a chance of it happening someday, somehow. I think time may have run out completely now, but who knows?"

I think there's a higher chance of Sting coming to the WWE for one last run. I would have him debut after Wrestlemania and build a winning streak up to Summerslam or after that, winning the title in the process. I don't think many kids in the arena knows who Sting is and this is a way to build up credibility for Sting. I don't think there's enough time for him to have a match at Wrestlemania 28 as his contract runs out a month before the event.

If Taker could still go after WM 28, let him fight Sting at WM 29 and go 21-0. If not, WWE could make the match for WM 28 and count on name value to hype up the match.

To people who insist Sting is not coming to the "E" to job at the biggest stage of them all, first of all the word is used when someone destroys another wrestler giving them little chance to fight back i.e. Sheamus vs DBD. A competitive match against Undertaker taking him to the limit is not jobbing, it gives Sting more credibility as the competitor who came the closest to end Undertaker's undefeated streak. Also, the streak match against Undertaker is automatically one of the main attractions for Wrestlemania. Where could Sting be if it isn't a match with Undertaker? A World title match that opens the show?

Undertaker vs Sting is a dream match for many and even Sting himself knows that, I myself hopes it will happen one day as it is one of the few remaining dream matches left. Each passing year means less chances of this match happening.

Just to correct a few people here. Jobbing does not mean that you lose your match. Yes I do believe that Sting can come off with great credibility if he had a match with taker at WM 28 but due to age and where both their careers are at right now all Sting wants is to go to WM and CEMENT his legacy. He doesnt want to have a 1 off match at WM against the Undertaker and lose! Again on the biggest stage he wants to CEMENT his legacy with a win.

Two Points:

1) It is very easy to book such a match where Sting loses to Taker but still comes out looking great. The right buildup, coupled with the right execution could cement a great legacy for Sting. Hell, he could stick around after Mania for a bit and do a lot of good for the company.

2) If next year's Mania is Taker's last, do we really want to see it against a man in his 50s that just can't plain go like he used to? HHH and Taker set the bar to a level of viciousness that Sting simply cannot replicate at this point in his career. Could a Taker/Sting match be anything other than a letdown?

Sting certainly has a place on a Mania card, and I would love it. But I'm not sold on the idea of him going against Taker. The Streak has come to be one of the most meaningful milestones in the business, and is probably the real showcase of Wrestlemania. I just don't think that Sting is at a point where he can have that kind of match.

Not sure if anyone has already said this, but with all the talk about Sting n Taker not being able to put on a 100% show, how about a tag match with Sting n Taker teaming up to take on, say, HHH n HBK in a one off return match? build it up good for a few months, or something, like HHH n HBK teaming together to take the Undertaker down, n then Sting comes down from the rafters with his baseball bat next to Taker n points it at DX.

Just a thought.

:banghead: Impossible HBK is retired and has enough money to stay retired if he wants to unlike Ric Flair. Again Sting didn't go to WWE when he could have done so in 2001, why would he go now in 2011 even for a tag-team match???

I'd like to see it. For the simple reason that it's the best 'dream match' that still has a sliver of hope of ever happening. There are too many 'dream matches' that leave us wondering what if already. So what wrestling fan would want to add to that list? The worst that can happen is that they have a bad match, no big deal.

A Few Dream Matches We'll Never See:
1. Angle Vs Hitman
2. Hogan Vs Austin
3. Austin Vs Goldberg
