You know actually i think Irish brang up a very interesting point, on marketing, but yes having the merchandise can make you more entertained think of it like this. If you hate cena wont you be more entertained wearing an i hate cena tshirt while watching him, and vice versa if you love him. Marketing has everything to do with wrestling, just people decide its to small to notice.

I own Steelers stuff, Pirates and Penguins stuff because i love the franchise. Even though i havent bought a Pirate thing in years because they pocket all the money and they do nothing for the fans

My point, my good man, is that we own sports merchandise, and wrestling merchandise in particular, to ENHANCE our enjoyment of the product. It increases our fanhood. It creates a financial tie to the entertainment, causing us to have a vested interest in watching and being a revenue source.

The purchase of a wrestler's merchandise, TP, is the vote of a fan in favor of a wrestler or an event. So when John Cena pushes merch, it sends a signal to Vince and the gang that he is a valuable revenue stream, and fans are confirming the fact that they care a) about John Cena, and b) about the wrestling product as a whole. A kid (or adult) owning a Chain Gang t-shirt ismore likely to go out of his or her way to watch the product.

you can thank hogan for the business you watch today. Hogan shouldn't lose to people that are less deserving, people watch to see him win because he is usually the face in the feuds... Lay down for anyone? Come on he helped cement the Warrior, lost to the Rock, he was a huge factor in the biggest boom period in wrestling... the man has done so much for the business it is ridiculous....

that is absurd. Hogan draws, sells, and made a lot more money... hogan> every superstar in wwe history. its not like Hbk ever refused to lose.... That is a ridiculous statement, and believing Hogan should lose is absurd...

you have to understand brian, hogan was already a HOFer and is going down as one of the best ever. what did he have to lose for laying down for other stars that will be around long after hogan is gone? hogans pride and selfisness got in the way. which is why hbk made a fool of him in the ring. to try and open hogans eyes.

that is still ridiculous, the paid to see the Face win, that is usually what happens... the face wins crowd goes ecstatic.... Hogan is a draw and people paid to see him win, it was the right move.
