I agree with Ty, but I also agree with tDigs.

It wasn't about Eminem being white... it was about the fact that he wouldn't keep his mouth shut and loved to start battles with the most sensitive of groups. He offended the gays, lesbians, mothers against violence, political figures, pop artists, mainstream figures, and a lot of the (not so young) audience. That's a big deal, especially during a time period where the media had resources to blow his issues up into the next world war.

It was about Eminem being white and also being middle-class. He has absolutely nothing in common with his producer, Dr. Dre, save for his dark, morbid way of thinking. Rap's origins may lie in the late 70s, but most people can only think of one rap song from that time: Rapper's Delight. Public Enemy made rap what it is, and it was nothing more than a black man's game until Eminem came along (The Beastie Boys don't count because they adopted rap as a means to sell albums, not because they found it to be a form of music that best expressed their thoughts). Through Eminem, we find the commonality that all rap music has: tragedy and torment. Eminem showed that not all dread and anger originates exclusively from black, American ghettos.

Actually, here's how I'll be do this...

Once I knew who came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, that will be the order of the picks. WHomever gets the highest total votes will get to pick their athlete first, followed by 2nd, and finally 3rd. So it'll depends on where you finish the music round, IF you make it through.
