Will Bieber performing at WM 27 be a classic WWE moment

  • Up there with Hogan slamming Andre & HBK's retirement.

  • As memorable as Kid Rock's performance at Wrestlemania 25.

  • Excuse me, I need to throw up.

Well the title says it all. As being reported on the main site WWE wants him to perform at Wrestlemania. I personally think it will get a bunch of people to not buy it. Sure some of the kids will go ape over it, but hey they aren't payin for it.

Now the million dollar question is...if he performs at Wrestlemania, will it change your opinion on buying it?

That's absolutely ridiculous if people don't buy it just because Justin Bieber is performing. Go take a shower or a food break when he performs or something. To say you hate Justin Bieber is one thing but to not buy the ppv solely because Bieber is playing there is the most ******ed thing I've ever heard.

If someone makes that decision, they are stupid. I hope Edge shows up at their house.

I would change my opinion on buying it, but not in the way you think. To me, Justin Bieber at WrestleMania is a huge selling point. Let's be completely honest: Lance T. Storm's right. To be clear, he's correct in his recent assessment that pay per view matches are meaningless these days. I think we need to be absolutely clear regarding what my subscription to his belief entails: I will not pay to watch a wrestling match.

So, that's a major fumble for the "sports" side of "sports entertainment." Which means it's up to the E-Team to restore my faith in this product. So, what would entertain me? Hornswoggle. Child actors. Little singers. In the WWE Universe, anyone who doesn't fit a certain bill physically looks so out of place that you can't help but get wrapped up in the quirky charm of it all. It's a sort of Daniel Bryan syndrome. IMO, Bieber has potential to be the Colin Delaney of WWE musical guests. The skits they could use him in are numerous. The raw potential for humor is enough to make me buy this pay per view if Bieber is slated to show.

Personally, it makes little to no difference to me. As is the case with many of the members of this board, I will be buying WrestleMania without hesitation. Whether Justin Bieber is performing at the event or not will have literally no influence on my decision at all.

However, I am intrigued to find out what some of the younger members of the board say about this decision to try and get Bieber on board with WrestleMania. Really, it is a win-win situation for both the WWE and Justin Bieber. The WWE get a teen icon to perform on the biggest stage of them all and this decision will probably lead to a lot of people buying the event as Bieber Fever seems to expand forever. It also a good thing for Justin Bieber. I don’t really like the kid’s music but performing in front of 70,000 fans and millions viewing at home cannot be a bad thing.

I honestly see this happening and the truth of the matter is that it should make very little difference to how you view the show. He will be on the air for approximately 5 minutes and then he will be gone with nothing more to do with the show.

Honestly what has this kid done?! Kill the second coming?!?!

The boy has good pipes and sings his heart out on stage and gets pelted with bottles for it. He is friggin' sixteen!! Just coz we don't have nearly as much adulation as this kid makes us turn on him? Or is it the catchy pop tunes that we are afraid will creep up in our brains and have us humming them against our wishes!

Now I'm a huge SG fan and as much as I hate to say it even Cornell used to screw up a lot during his hey-days singing live. It's the holy grail for any musician and whosoever pulls it off, for me, IS a musician. And that boy can belt it.

On topic, I have no problem watching Wrestlemania regardless. I just don't care whose singing. I (will)watch it for eagerly awaited matches and fantastic promos and whatnot.
It's Wrestle-f*ckin-Mania!

Absolutely not. I am not a big fan of Aretha Franklin, Boyz II Men and Ashanti but just because they sang the American National Anthem did not make me want to not buy the show. If Beiber comes out to sing the National Anthem and goes, that's great. If Beiber is involved in a few backstage skits on top of his singing duties, that's fine. If Beiber is on RAW in the run-up to WM and starts to take focus away from the storylines, then that's what would piss me off.

Last i checked, Justin Beiber has not raised an army of undead Nazis to rape every young child on the African continent. He is just a talented singer who will appeal to the PG audience and will probably do a fine job of singing one song and drawing a good reaction from the crowd. The National Anthem spot is a very small part of Wrestlemania for me, as i am English and don't really give a shit what song is sung before the opening match.

I'll probably get a little vexed if they do the same thing they did at WM25 and take away a title match in place of Bieber's performance, but other than that I don't have any problem with it at all. DFA's right; it's win win for both WWE and for Justin Bieber. Beiber fever expands to more teen fans and there's the chance of bring more of an audience to the WWE. And anything that brings more people to watch wrestling in my opinion is always a good thing no matter how it happens.

I'll still watch it. But I'm definitely gonna get a set of earplugs or hit the mute button when he comes on. He's garbage, has no talent whatsoever and sounds like a little girl. Miley Cyrus has a deeper voice than him/her. I don't agree with it at all, his music belongs at a middle school dance not a sporting event. A few years ago Wrestlemania went Hollywood, but now Wrestlemania goes disney. I'm not a preteen or a 'tween or teen, I am a man. I want to watch a man's show, so excuse me if I'm not psyched if WWE is trying to do a wrestling version of Hannah Montana.

I only hope Randy comes out and punts Justin She-ber into next week.

I would still buy Mania. The performances have no effect on whether or not I buy the PPV. I usually skip out on the performances, as that is the time I prepare food, use the bathroom, etc... So no his performance will have no effect on whether or not I buy the show. I buy for the wrestling, not the side show musical acts.

I would still buy it, but when "Whatever his name is" I never even heard the kid sing...anyways..We all know the WWE is a kid's show..So when it's Justin's time to be on camera, that's time to get up, get a cold one..go to the bathroom, smoke....

Unless he eats an RKO as soon as he comes out to sing, yes it would make me stop watching. I would throw a rock at the TV/computer I'm watching it on to get his face and voice off the screen

No, I would NOT buy WrestleMania if Justin Bieber is on the show. I understand he's a popular kid but damnit WWE why can't you get away from the celebrities for once? I mean, you have the rediculous "Guest Star" on Raw crap that's shovled in front of us every week, so why can't just for once there NOT be some crappy celeb at WrestleMania? I don't buy WWE PPVs anyway but even if I did, I know for sure I wouldn't it he were there. No way, no how

There are many reasons not to buy at Wrestlemania on PPV (the outrageous price for HD is the main thing), but a canadian singing America the Beautiful most definatly wouldnt be one of them. It would, in a wierd way, make me more proud. To think this little boy who had a billion things to do would sing the closest thing to OUR national anthem, even tho he was born in another country....man, Thats impressive.

Oh and to the jackasses who say that they "mute" or "buy earplugs" if/when he sings America The Beautiful.........GET OVER YOURSELF!!! It doesnt matter who sings it, its a wonderful song. I mean geez, its not like he'd grab his crotch when he finished or anything.

I don't know about you, but J-Beebs doing a 5 minute appearance and performance of a partriotic song that was done by Fantasia Barrino last year would definitely prevent me from buying WM 27, regardless of what the other 3 hours and 55 minutes of action my entail. It's just too big of an issue for me.

In all honestly, I certainly won't be buying it either way, but when I watch it online, I may not fast forward through all of America the Beautiful.

The fact that any wrestling fan would say that they aren;t going to buy a ppv because of a singer is ******ed and honestly you shouldnt call yourselves fans. its one thing to bitch about something if you don't like it, but for the love of God.... I keep reading people complaining about the product to the point that its irritating. Are you sick of the guest hosts? fine, watch smackdown. the guest hosts get five-ten minutes airtime MAX. It's there get over it.

The kid has a good following. The fact that he is playin may even be the little extra thing that will get the parent to buy it (in hopes of getting his daughter to watch with him) I see it as a good thing. I cant stand him. but I am not going to boycott WRESTLEMANIA because someone is singing for five minutes. For the love of god... let it go.

i wont buy it if he is on there ok 1 he will ruin it cuz he cant sing and when some1 sings the nat anthem badly anywhere i dont watch the game/sporting event 2nd on kinda a off topic i used to have a voice like justin beiber WHEN i WAS 3 and agree 100% randy orton would be my all time favorite star if he rkoed then punted beiber

you wont order a PPV with Wrestling on it if justin b sings the national anthem or america the beautiful. you will not watch wrestlemania because of a five minute segment. its like saying you wont watch smackdown b/c of hornswoggle or you wont watch raw if you find out Khali will be there. Its freaking stupid and ignorant. as a fan of the wwe you should help them out and give them something back for the years of entertainment they have given you. but based on what you said... its prolly not that many years.... and do you really not watch a sporting event b/c you dont like who sings?

Would you not watch the Super Bowl because you don't like the half time show?

Would you not watch the World Series because who is singing?

YOU WATCH WRESTLING FOR WRESTLING NOT FOR SINGING.
YOU WATCH THE SUPER BOWL FOR THE FOOTBALL NOT THE SINGING.
YOU WATCH THE WORLD SERIES FOR BASEBALL NOT THE SINGING.

I hope edge spears you and everyone else who wont watch something because of a song for being stupid.

Whoever is saying that a Justin Bieber performance would draw teen fans is absolutely WRONG!! Teen fans are the most anti-Justin Bieber fans there are, especially boys, it is pre-adolescent children who love him.

I am against having him at Wrestlemania because he would not boost up the buys at all. Plus, Justin Bieber at Wrestlemania?! It would be embarassing personally speaking. This is WRESTLING, why would we want a teen popstar there? It would be for the wrong audience completely. There would be barely any kids at Wrestlemania and they wouldn't be the ones to buy the PPV either. I say no Justin Bieber, they have to draw the line somewhere when trying to appeal to kids. But it wouldn't stop me buying the PPV either.

Wow...Just WOW. I can't believe this is actually a thread. Who cares if JB is going to preform at Mania? I'm sure there are not many on this forum who do care. Is this performance going to change the outcome of the main event? Is JB going to interfere in the unification match(if that even happens like people keep saying). Is JB going to end Taker's streak? I thought this was a forum for wrestling not to bitch about Bieber. WWE thinks this will make them more money....good for them. I don't think it will add any significant sales to the PPV, but that's just my meager opinion.

I love how some of you feel the need to justify why you don't like the kid. It really shows how little you care that you'd get your panties in a bunch about this. What makes him any different than any other singer that's been at Wrestlemania (none of which I can remember except for fuckin' Motorhead!)? Does it really matter what you think of the kid?

Let him sing. Anyone who'd make Justin Bieber their hill to die on isn't worth the second thought.

Personally, i couldn't give a monkeys ass about Bieber performing, did anyone complain when Aretha Franklin Sung? He's just doing what others have done before him...

And anyone who says that there not going to buy WM27 just because Bieber's on STOP OVER-REACTING...Many Remotes come with a mute button for a reason...I'm Just Sayin...

I feel a little weird about this, but for some reason, I watch wrestling, especially wrestlemania, for the wrestling. Call me foolish, but when I am deciding whether I am going to buy a PPV or watch a show, I'm just a little more concerned with who is wrestling who than who is making a guest appearance or sing a song.

I am a WRESTLING fan. If they lined up the cast of Jersey Shore, The Hills and Justing Beiber to sing a collaboration, I will still base my watching or not on the fucking matches. In a PPV especially, the wrestling takes up 70% of the show. That is what I want to see. So until WWE tells us who is wrestling or not, everyone saying they won't order is being naive.

If they manage to get Goldberg vs. Stone Cold in a one time final match, all you jackasses who say "I won't buy because of Bieber" will be standing in line, hoping and wishing to get the chance to see it.

Fucking Justing Bieber? Are you kidding me? OP, please come up with better topics to post in the future. You are a complete tool. Seriously.

I'd buy it just to see him get booed out of the building. The WWE are making a major misjudgement of their audience if they think this is going to go down well. He's pretty much hated by everyone who isn't a teenage girl or under 11 and that applies double for a wrestling audience. I personally despise him because he's known to be an utter prick and his music is an abomination.

No it would not prevent me. He's actually a good singer from that one song I heard from him, dont listen to any of his other songs just because I cant be bothered but it's amazing how this one little boy gets not just the girls but the males panties in a twist. No matter who sings at WM, I just skip and move onto the matches, that's the beauty of watching a recorded tape of WM rather than watch it or be at the arena live. But if they Bieber 20 mins in place of a match during the card like they did WM 25, that'll be taking the piss.

But getting Bieber on the show is a good way to get more women & kids in the arena. Will feel sorry for him when millions of male adults boo the crap out of him though at the show.

I do not watch WWE what-so-ever anymore and having him at WM would def. be a disgrace, but I recall another sporting event with another Justin (glaring at you NFL) and that didn't stop me from watching that, because as bat shit stupid as it may be, the WWE is in PG mode and if that's not a perfect fit then I don't know what the hell is, so why I find all of WWE not worth my time at the moment, if I was watching it, this would in NO WAY stop me from getting it, especially considering that USUALLY their shit is alot shorter than the god awful bullshit I see every year at the Superbowl
