Live Discussion: RAW 5/5/08

The way I saw it was this was the week for his sympathy pop. He got cracked in the face last week during his return to Raw. We needed to see some revenge this week.

But we saw him lose his first match back. Sure the odds were stacked against him. But if he overcame those odds, especially if he had no partner, he'd be more of a threat to Regal. He'd look a somebody who beat an entire roster. Now he looks like guy who got pinned by a nobody while HHH lost no credibility by his team losing.

There's only so many times you can come up shortchanged and still be over. If next week he tries to retaliate against Regal again and Regal still comes out on top, Kennedy's push is effectively finished.

Seriously, I love this guy.

Please keep posting here at WZ :)

Heh. I plan to keep posting here. I've actually been coming to WZ for a really long time...the background of the site, if I remember correctly used to look like a chain linked fence when I first found discovered WZ.

But anyway, I've been lurking for a while on the board and finally decided I had something to say.

While I agree that Chavo is on the downhill slide, I still don't think this loss will hurt him. And the R.K.O. H.H.H. took is what was meant to drop Trips, making Orton look stronger.

Naturally nothing will make Orton look stronger going into Judgment Day, because its like 1% chance, if even that he'll regain the Championship hes held since October.

Kennedy, meanwhile, I believe his push will begin with losing to Regal, elevating Regal to Triple H. and the Main Event.. while Kennedy jumps to Jericho, and THATS where I believe he'll pick up his set of victories, including an Intercontinental run.. which releads him to a heel Champion, quite possibly at Wrestlemania.

But you're acting as if its the end of the world that he lost his first match back. When there was great reasoning for him to lose. He was up against an entire brand. And unless your name is "John Cena" you aren't going to overcome those type of odds.

Not really, but add that on top of being made to look extremely week, in your first match being a face. Was stupid.

Doesn't change the fact that HHH was made out to be superman, and a glory hog from Kennedy.

I mean, why even team these guys up? HHH is obviously going to get the crowd reactions, I don't know why you would take a 1 week face, and team him with WWE's 2nd biggest draw then proceed to have HHH be the superman of the show, and leave Kennedy nursing injuries after being pinned by fucking Chavo.

I'm all for Orton getting the upper hand. It's all before that's bad. Surely you have to agree with this Will, come on.

Kennedy, meanwhile, I believe his push will begin with losing to Regal, elevating Regal to Triple H.

See, this is my point.

How the hell is this going to benefit HHH? Draft some heels from SD!

Do fucking something, but don't ruin all of newcoming face (Kennedy's) momentum and then hand it all to Trips.

But you're acting as if its the end of the world that he lost his first match back. When there was great reasoning for him to lose.

Not really.

There was no need for HHH to steal the spotlight. Again. As usual.

Orton would RKO his grandma at the end of Raw to end the night with a reaction. But the fact is HHH was still the centerpiece of Raw's ending so that next week can be built around hyping the cage match.

The last time Kennedy won a match was his MITB qualifying match I think. He needs a superman push for at least a few weeks, no? To look credible as a face he has to show he's worth rooting for. Austin was fighting the Hart Foundation almost single handedly when he first started getting the big face pops.

Regal should be Kennedy's Hart Foundation. Not everybody is going to be a cheered as an underdog. Cena is the underdog that always wins. Matt Hardy is an underdog that always loses. Taker is an underdog who got stripped of his title. But the difference is they've all been faces for so long that we know they're going to remain over.

Kennedy is going to get stale faster because before WrestleMania he was a full blown heel. He was the guy who everyone loved to hate. But he isn't convincing anyone to cheer for him right now. currently he's a loudmouth who hasn't backed up anything he's said since he's been on SD!

Let him take the bull by its horns and be a hero to the masses. Dropping down from where he currently is to fight Y2J after he loses a feud to Regal is a step backwards. Let him beat Regal single handedly in the feud, then let him beat Jericho in a feud. Than he can reign as IC champ until he he WWE Title worthy.

Agreed, but instead HHH gets to be Mr Hero.

Which is a fucking atrocity. He benefits none whatsoever from it.

I have watched it several times. It was the two showcasing what they had when they were at their best.

What would you claim as the best match of all time? The KoTR HIAC with Mankind vs Taker.
Don't get me wrong, I love that match and have watched it a few times, but they spend ALOT of time doing nothing as people tend to Mick.

However, the Hart/Michaels match is an hour straight of them just going at it. How many guys could really go out there and have an iron man match? Not many

My favorite match is a HBK one. True story.

If Hart vs. HBK was just an hour of them going at it then the Rock/HHH Iron Man Match must have been on fast forward. Twice the pace, twice the entertainment.

Hmm, I'm beginning to see that my main problem with the ME is not the HHH thing. It's that Kennedy lost to CHAVO! I mean yea, it would have been nice for him to get up and either help or save HHH from ECW, but if nothing else let Kane pin him. But Chavo?? He is a lifelong midcarder, will never be considered a legit world title contender, and WWE is insistent on pushing for a reason unbeknownst to me.

And I think or at least hope that they are not dumb enough to put Regal over the new face who they are making into a star. It could lead into Regal being pisses, HHH making fun, and Regal punishing him for it. Doesn't HAVE to be Regal going over Kennedy.
IMO, Kennedy should go over, then move to Y2J who by that time should be heel, and Kennedy should have an IC title run. Then later on Trips turns heel and Kennedy turns back up against him.

Last night's Raw did a 3.2 cable rating, which is down from last week's 3.3. The show did hours of 3.07 and 3.32, which were down from last week's 3.13 and 3.46. Also, the highest rated quarter hour came with the 3.66 that they did for the overrun. The next highest number was a 3.33.

Hmmm. This show needs more John Cena.

I just figured out what it is that Kennedyyyyyyyyyy... Kennedy needs to get completely over with the crowd and a mainstay superstar for years to come.

A course in Basic Thuganomics.

Kennedyyyyyyyyy.

Probably not.

This will end up being his 4th push that flops but this time due to Triple H. Kennedy for TNA IMO.

I am officially pissed at Triple H now....I just saw a preview for next monday's Raw on ECW......they mentioned some bull about HHH being 'stuck between a tryannical GM and Randy Orton' (something to that degree)

WTF!!! What does HHH have to do with Regal? Fuck this, That was Kennedy's feud.

For the first time since I was a little ignorant mark, I've started to hate HHH.

Pains me to say it since he is....(was?) my favorite in this era.

I swear to God, if Mike Adamle says "Have Mercy!" one more time, I'm gonna shove his Jesse and the Rippers framed poster up his ass!!
