TNA LD for 08/19/10

I'm not saying the TNA fans don't appreciate his talents, in fact I'm quite sure that they do. It's just that there aren't very many of them, and I think Angle's ego is far too huge for him to not conclude it all on the grandest stage of them all, or not to be recognized by the WWE Hall of Fame, which simply will not happen if he calls it quits in TNA. And I'm quite sure the kids of the WWE Universe would have no problems whatsoever understanding and appreciating his talents. My son, for on, certainly does. :rolls eyes in response:

And make no mistake about it, I personally don't want Angle back in the WWE. He chose to take his ball and go home and head to obscurity in Orlando when the WWE didn't make him the centre of their universe. I say let him stay right where he is, in the minor leagues of the iMPACT zone.

Many talents in TNA? Or many smart fans in TNA? Well, those are both bullshit assumptions, but ok. Well he is one of the greatest wrestlers in the world, and one of the greatest to step in a pro wrestling ring, so I wouldn't deny he has a big ego.

Well instead of making up bullshit and actually reading up on why Angle left TNA, you'd know that he left because of the schedule. He was burnt out, and he felt like with the group of guys there, he couldn't really have many more great matches. And the minor leagues? Okay Michael Cole, go back to your WWE bubble.

They being a new NWO is going to make me turn away from TNA.

Were you really here before it anyway? I read this kinda stuff from guys like you all the time, but none of you are ever really here with them anyway – it's not as though they "lose" a fan with you, as you never really were one to begin with.

As a matter of fact yeah I am. I might not have a single post but I come to the discussions every week. There was a 1 year hiatus (late 08 - late 09) where I just couldn't watch it on Thursdays and was too busy to catch it. I have been following TNA since they had this god awful time slot on Fox Sports ( Fridays at 3 pm central time) so in no way or shape am I a fair weather fan

Well, you'll have to forgive my ignorance, then. This is the first I've seen of you, so I just presumed you were one of the same glut of fans who did exactly what I explained.

Magnus is a future World Champion – bank on it. That guy's got sick potential, and a fantastic attitude/personality at just the age of 23.

How is this really NWO, fortune are fighting for one goal really, to get rid of EV2.0. NWO just destroyed everything, lol.

Holy Jesus you're sensitive. Relax, man, just a little harmless banter back and forth, don't get your panties in a knot!

I think you missed my point when you said "many talents." I didn't mean there weren't many talents in TNA, quite the opposite, I think they have quite a bit of talent, they just have no idea whatsoever how to showcase it. I meant there aren't many fans, and that's just a question of numbers. You know the ratings as well as I do, no need to re-state the obvious. After all, you are one of these "smart fans" you mention I'm sure. By the way, I in no way suggested there weren't smart fans in TNA. On this site alone there's IDR, Kenny Powers, Riaku, and even yourself (to some degree when you're not over-reacting like an irrational mark). There are plenty of smart TNA fans, just not many fans in terms of total numbers.

I also never disputed that he wasn't one of the greatest wrestlers in the world, even at this stage of his career when age and health are clearly slowing him down. But being the best doesn't mean he has to have a tremendous ego. Look at AJ, also one of the best, but appears to be well grounded and humble. He doesn't think the world revolves around him like Angle does, and some would argue he's as good as if not better than Angle, especially now.

I know full well the reasons why Angle stated he left the WWE. But let's face it, if he was at the top of the totem pole where he felt he belonged, he likely would have endured the schedule and found significant matches and feuds to stay put. You know as well as I do that he left because he was tired of standing in line behind HBK, HHH, and others. If Angle's contract was up in TNA and McMahon came calling with wallet in hand, offering Angle the chance to main event WM27 and end Taker's streak, for example, with the only catch being he had to return to a full-time WWE schedule for another 5 years, what do you think he'd do? I'd say he'd be tripping over himself running to the airport in Orlando to head back up north. Of course that's mere speculation, but I think you know I'm right.

Oh, and Michael Cole? Now that's downright nasty and uncalled for :)

It's cool I know it gets hard to defend TNA from a lot of people that just wants to find a way to criticize it; however you can't deny that the "they" storyline can potentially bring with it a NWO angle and that would be disastrous

I refer to NAsh Sting Jarret Bischoff as the NWO. Abyss still saying they with out reveling it and knowing Russo is booking am just fearful that they will turn out to a NWO faction

Story of my life here, man. Story of my life.

As for the nWo rehash, hard to say if that'll actually be disastrous or not – just because something is rehashed doesn't mean it's a failure. Plenty of things are re-done and heralded. It's all about the angle.

Not you, just in general, they wont let the story roll out, there just like
"omg this is the nexus/nwo"

It's silly, they all diferent, and i for one look foward to tna in the future, as the winds of change might be blowing.;)

I try to keep each angle differently. I like Fourtune a lot ( besides the fact that there is 7 members in a fourtune) but just the thought of seeing the same group of guys (my NWO candidates) trying to control things in TNA yet again makes me sad.

Well when people throw out ridiculous shit and try to pose it off as fact, that's what you get from me I guess. Of course it is, we've debated quite a lot recently, and even though I act like a complete jackass sometimes on here, you're a good poster, and I respect your opinion, im just sick of all the mindless TNA bashing and hate for everything they do.

Good post, not much arguing with this one. Though I think if any great wrestler was in the position Kurt was in with WWE, they would have packed up their bags and gone else where. I remember a promo Orton cut on Angle in 06 and he said "Man Kurt, you went from main eventing Wrestlemania to ECW. That's like going from a summer blockbuster to hardcore porn" He was burnt out and frustrated, so I can't blame him for packing up his bags.

The hypothetical situation you pose is for sure interesting, seeing I don't think anyone would deny an opportunity to end Taker's WM streak, but that's highly unlikely that anyone ever will. Though I understand what you're getting at.

true about nash and co, but its intresting in a way, everyone wants to rid of EV2.0, which could lead to something in the future. And could i ask when it was officially named fourtune? Im pretty sure it was never intended to be spelt like that.

EDIT: TO srchmast

Thursday's huge broadcast featured the start of the World Title Tournament with Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Terry, Mr. Anderson vs. Jay Lethal, Kurt Angle vs. Douglas Williams and Matt Morgan vs. The Pope, plus Madison Rayne vs. Angelina Love, AJ Styles vs. Tommy Dreamer and Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett attempting to go after Sting and Kevin Nash, only to get attacked by Ric Flair's "Fourtune" alliance!

From TNA website. I honestly would not mind never seeing Nash, Jarret and Bischoff again. Just stay in the back and coach young guys the way Flair and to an extent Hogan has done since they came in

I enjoyed both shows tonight. TNA ReAction is like TNA Impact for Dummies. It goes over every aspect of Impact and sheds light on all the angles and feuds. Next week should be good considering Joe is coming back, and we get to see a match between the Machine Guns and Generation Me. So are the semi finals of the tournament being held next week or at No Surrender?

I don't think you are acting like a jackass at all, it's just you are getting a little too excited and letting your passion for the TNA product cloud your judgment. Nothing wrong about being passionate about TNA if that's what you're into, it could be argued that true passion for the wrestling biz is a little sparse these days in both TNA and WWE, especially amongst the younger talent. I'm not really sure, though, that my comments should be discounted as "ridiculous shit."

Anyway, enjoyed the back and forth, but I think it's time for me to call it a night. But I'm sure we'll resume the debate again another day.
